i drove to michigan yesterday for about 6 hour trip

i hit a wall for like... weeks/months it felt like... but i finally broke down yesterday and got the album scheduled for May 1 that i've been postponing since last fall cuz i couldnt get the last couple tracks "fixed" adequately.... and i ended up having to shelve them and slot in replacements instead... given me new energy for the moment to try and keep the momentum up

i'm big into roguelike elements in games now.... go into it knowing you're going to "lose" the game in 10-20 minutes.... but you make overall progress.... its a lot more convenient as a "mature" gamer to not have to commit to sitting in front of a screen for 4+ hours at a time with no interruptions

i was kinda big into singleplayer RPGs like BG1/2, Final Fantasy, Chronotrigger, etc,etc,etc back at that time.... nowadays... I've kinda drifted away from party-based isometric story RPGs.... I can't be bothered to micromanage 6-8 characters... and unless I can beat the game in 10-20 hours, I'm gonna forget half the story or wanna change to a different character/class halfway through

Some multi-character party RPGs are okay. A lot depends on the plot and the depth of character back stories.

Legit same. I like the focus on the main protagonist whilst the other characters can level their selves or you have some input to it so they can battle and defend independently.

Mass Effect is a perfect example of that. Loved that game series. Still playing ME: Andromeda which is mid but I'll finish it for completion sake

i used to like WoW... and probably still would.... but I got sick of feeling like I was being nickel and dimed and considered a "sucker" for a game that showed very little actual "improvement" over years and years of development and millions of dollars of profits... and the people.... blah... see the same sorta behavior in the band-scene in music... everyone lies to themselves about their ability and desires, and expects everyone else to make more of a commitment and effort than they're willing to do themselves

my problem with puzzles in "modern games" is that at some point, I hit one where I feel like googling the answer... and from then on I pretty much immediately google the answer and ruin the game for me.... internet ruined a lot of that for me .... whereas before I remember games like Zork where I literally spent years stuck at the same spot trying to figure out the answer (and never did)

I'm going to date myself here but I ran a public BBS system on a Commodore 64 then upgraded that to the Amiga 3000 computer back in the 80's Used to get all the zero day games uploaded so pretty much seen and played most of them.
