Doing that helped me a lot on vocal, if you do not give "gender" directions it acts according the style of the vocal as "its criteria". Example: Clean, soft, and emotionally sweet vocal
Usually leads me to a female vocal. But just adding "Male" at first, gave me a male vocal with a very clean and soft vocal.
