Failure and success are dependent on whether the model bias leans to what you like to make I think. As you use 5.5 you'll notice that it cannot help itself other than to just add flourish to everything at all times. Maybe they will change this over time

V5 was no v4.5/v4.5+ in instrumentation complexity but it's still more than what v5.5 wants to do for me. It feels even more pop-biased than v5 was which was already terribly pop-biased.

v5.5's instrumentals are a step behind from v5 which is a step behind v4.5+. v4.5+ also has more vocal variety than v5 and v5.5 to the point that most of my vocal personae are straight up from v4.5+ because the v5 voices lacked the harsh texture and distortion that earlier models had.

Right yea if you were covering thats always the case. I did notice in 5.5 any descriptive notes you add in [ ] are more accurate then 5, like if you want keys in a part of the chorus or evil laughter or whatever. I thought those were steering my generations into a certain tonal direction. I took all descriptive notes out but am still getting the same thing everytime. Really weird
