I wrote this from a place of trying to understand myself, not to get sympathy. A lot of the song is me admitting how much old hurt I carried into new situations without realising it. The sixes show up because that’s how the memories showed up, in loops, in cycles, in repeats. It’s me finally acknowledging that I wasn’t just unlucky or misunderstood; I was stuck in patterns I didn’t know how to break.

The whispers, the echoes, the layered voices, that’s what it feels like inside your head when you’re trying to grow but the past keeps tapping you on the shoulder. It’s messy, it’s confusing, and sometimes it’s dark, but it’s real. I didn’t write this to be cryptic or clever. I wrote it because I needed to put language to things I’d been carrying for years.

At the end of the day, the song is about accountability, reflection, and the uncomfortable truth that you can love someone deeply and still hurt them if you haven’t dealt with your own stuff. It’s about recognising the cycles before they repeat again. And if someone hears it and only catches the “six” part, that’s fine, but for me, it’s the most honest I’ve ever been in a song.
