I've figured out you can tweak audio inside davinci resolve when making videos. Take the raw WAV file, set a Fairlight FX / Dynamics / Limiter to -1, then push the BUS audio up right up until it starts clipping then go .1 or .2 down. Sounds pretty darn good.
