When I use v5 to make electronic music, every track ends up with very similar timbres, and the result is always extremely boring because of that.

It’s especially disastrous when using Persona. No matter how much I tweak the parameters, everything converges on similar tracks built around thin, sine-wave-like melodies.

The sound quality itself is good, and the vocals are polished. I can understand that v5 is a sophisticated model if you’re making pop music (which I’m not interested in). But when I try to really dig in and create the kind of music I like, the timbres are just incredibly monotonous, and I get bored almost immediately.

To me, v4.5+ feels far superior.

Does anyone have any ideas for what kind of techniques or workarounds might help avoid this kind of formulaic, stereotyped timbre structure?

What you want to do is not possible, theres no prompting to get 4.5-all to generate 3.5 sounding extensions. Thats pretty much it. It sucks sure, but it is what it is.

One of my more used ones still, is a v3.5 audio clip, not mastered, not stemmed, not perfected. But it still works great as a nudge for certain styles. It also depends on Legacy or New Persona, and what you expect out of it.

I would like to add one thing though...

It's not that "faithfulness was put behind a paywall" as stated previously. What we really have here is the simple fact that earlier models are incompatible with newer ones. The team does their best to maintain some backwards compatibility in the newer models to allow upscaling of the earlier versions when you use covers with it or try remastering. But the sad fact of the matter is this doesn't work with every song.

I myself have a handful of v1 and v2 songs that I can never make work as is using newer models. And I love those songs. They just don't translate. Don't even ask me about the v2 song that was made during beta that caught a bug ans is basically irreparable....

This is the nature of the technology not a case of the company being greedy. Some stuff doesn't translate.

in theory you can "simulate" the sliders with luck and prompts.
The sliders are made to bring the ai out of balance... but you can also do that with prompts.
Not as quick as with the sliders, but if you want the audio influence to be bigger, mention more attributes of your used audio in the style.
