any time you use anything that uses audio influence it takes up a big portion of the output and limits the duration you can output on an initial generation. mashup seems to use a lot more than persona/cover/inspiration, so its outputting significantly shorter tracks.

Sorry if this is not the channel to ask. Can anyone give me tips to how to get Suno to Extend without being all weird. I used to not have any issues but now it never extends as i ask it to, it seems to just go on a tangent and do as it feels, sometimes only producing clips that are 7 seconds long which is a waste of my credits. For the most part they backing for my supplied melody is great but i didnt like the way it ended so i want to extend past that ending and come to a climatic end but it just starts making garbled mess.

Extend is weird, it works, but likes to do what it wants rather than what you ask it, a lot more than follow instructions. Its a credit sink, it can work, I just made my outro for a 9:50 song this way, but it took a bunch of extends to get it to not just repeat the last verse

It can both, make a v5 persona from a recording (which they disabled) by using a mashup of your recording, and it can control male vs female in duets by smashing songs together instead of covering, the only problem is it cuts off too early, and you lose part of the song
