What I do at the start is use Custom to give me a full base of lyrics until I'm somewhat pleased with it as a base. Then I take into Grok and iterate over it. I make Grok play songwriter and give me feedback on every line. It's not black and white but the stuff I don't like (which could be an entire verse) I make Custom give me a replacement of it, then put it back into Grok to give feedback. Then from there once I like most of it I revise it line by line, giving it parameters and I make sure the syllables and rhyme scheme (or slant rhyme scheme) is in tact.

Yeah so the secret sauce for instrumentals is once I have the entire lyric that I want, I feed it back into Grok and ask it what the ideal time signature, bpm, etc. would fit for lyrics like this. Once I started doing this I started getting really good results.

The other really cool thing you can do is if you want to give your singer an accent, have the lyrics reflect that by making Grok give you a simple phonetic version of your lyrics.

There's a way through Covering it but the Cover won't be 100% in tact, but if you're not that picky that can work. It works really well that way if you lock the syllable count you're replacing it with as well.

Suno is messing around! For a week now I haven't been able to generate a decent song, after almost 400 songs released, the quality has declined in the last week. The "Persona" that took me 6 months and 10,000 credits to create simply doesn't work anymore, it no longer generates the fidelity of the voice as before, not to mention the various pronunciation and diction errors, two/three different voices in the same song. its all very non-deterministic. there's a few layers of abstraction between you and the music emitting bits and they help steer the model towards a desirable outcome by interpreting your instructions into w/e it is the music model needs to see to hallucinate an output.
