I just tried it and didn’t get the blank ‘no words’ error—even though I’m on an iPad and currently using the free tier.

It will depend a lot on document size and especially if there are embedded images

it seems like even with an extremely short book it “blinks” for a moment when switching back

is it because ER is reloading the whole book? im trying an epub right now that’s only 332kb and it’s still taking nearly a whole second for the text to re-appear, although i can’t get it to entirely break to the point that i need to re-open the app

the original (long) book i was having the real issue with was a 13 MB epub

Yeah it unloads the book when you switch apps to save memory but will have to adjust this a bit

Sounds like a partial fix was released in a recent update, but more work to fully fix the underlying issue that we’ll continue to work on in upcoming releases
