@vocal current yes, audio is available only for online-use only now. I will double check with the team, but as far as I know, there're no plans to change this in foreseeable future.
But I hear you, and I put a feedback as a note. When did you last time needed to go to offline mode and still listen to the content? What that offline mode would allow?
for me listening on long plane flights
I also listen on my commute where I'm away from wifi.
Yes, there are many situations where you need to listen offline! As a blind person, I read audiobooks everywhere, and Internet is not available all the time. Even other services like Netflix or Spotify propose offline modes. You should really reconsider your plans. Generating a book online using your system then giving us the ability to download it on our phone shouldn't be a problem for you as you already do so for your other services.
currently, most of the interruption issues I'm encountering may come from the fact that audio is generated in real time. Sometimes my internet connection may drop, when commuting from wifi to mobile data when I get out from home while reading and I frequently have to kill the app to get back to my book. and last but not least, this ting drains a lllllot of battery power and my poor iPhone 11 can be used as an hand warmer!
Please keep in mind that a big part of your clients for the reading app will be persons like me, visually impaired readers.
Thank you @stiff bear and @vocal current . I really appreciate the detailed feedback. We're now working on optimizing app so it's not a hand warmer anymore and it will reconnect reliably. For offline mode, I will bring this up and will keep you posted, although can't promise anything yet.
Unfortunately, the phone is still getting hot. I mean it may be quite normal after all.
