Afrikaans (ZA) Language

Hi there.

Firstly, apologies, since I know this isn't the perfect place for my inquiry, but it's the best option I could find.

I'm an educator at a small private institution. In the new year, we are going to need to produce a lot of videos in a short amount of time.

I know that using a high quality, realistic TTS voice AI, such as is offered by ElevenLabs, would save our institution an incredible amount of time when producing these videos.

An issue is that our primary education medium is Afrikaans. It's a very developed South African language closely related to Dutch (Nederlands) and German (Deutsch).

This language is not yet supported by ElevenLabs. I would like to assist with the development and implementation if at all possible.

At the moment, I have no reason to subscribe to a premium plan due to the absence of support for Afrikaans. If this language does become supported, however, ElevenLabs would be the perfect solution to my problem, and I would activate a premium plan without hesitation.

Whatever is needed for ElevenLabs to support Afrikaans in the future, I want to offer my time and knowledge as a native speaker and educator so that it can come to be.

Would there be any job opportunities available at this school? I have a similar interest in creating Afrikaans generated content. I know of a service that is at the forefront of developing Afrikaans TTS, well beyond ElevenLabs. Do you know of it? Before I have looked into using Bark to develop the Afrikaans phonemes. It is a lot of work and I am extremely strapped for income at the moment.

Aangename kennis. Unfortunately, we're not looking to fill any positions at the moment. It's very useful to know tech-savvy South Africans such as yourself, however, and I will absolutely keep you in mind for any web dev or programming related work we might need assistance with in the future.

Come to think of it, if you have any experience in Blender, I could use your help with that. You will be compensated, of course.

I know similar questions have come up in the past and the general response is "if you have many hours of audio content and it's transcripts that you own then it could be used to help train the model" The issue with lanagues such as Afrikans would most liekly be the lack of open source training data.

Apologies for the late response. What you described is what I'm offering: audio, transcripts, and help with phonology, with an academic focus (mathematics and science)
