ARK server version is 0.02 higher in official steam client than server host

We can't find the server at all

The server version is not a mismatch. Add the server to your steam favourites.
Go to view, then servers. In the pop up select the favourites tab. Then hit the + at the bottom and enter ip:port into the next pop up.
If that works, open the game, click on join ark, select favourites on the bottom left. Make sure to have an empty search bar, set the parameters to all maps and all modes. Then your server should pop up.

Game worked in the end, but trying to log in today has been a struggle, no sign of the server after multiple restarts

Also the Dino count keeps reverting to 0.8 after starting even though we change it to 1

Are you using any dino mods?

Cause i remember that some of them changed that.

Earlier I had to restart the server to update mods, I think that's probably when we couldn't join again after that

i would upload the mod files via ftp, i always did that when we had an ARK server, just to be sure that the files were the same

Can I shut down the server, disable the mods, then upload new mods files without it affecting the game?

i would stop the server, go to the mods on ftp and delete the mods that you wanna upload, then upload yours and start it again

I guess you're on 361.something best is to switch to pre aquatica if every player is connecting through steam. You have to do that for the server and the client as well. It's the more stable version of the game and most mods work a lot better with it. That'll create a new savegame and reset all server settings, though
