Hi, I just purchased a GPortal server so me and my friends can participate in the 1.1 update together. However, after editing some of the basic settings (Difficulty and Name), I got this error
deepmerge at: ['UnlockedResearchs'] cannot merge compound and non-compound types: <class 'str'> and: <class 'list'>
Now, I can’t start the server, edit any of the basic settings, or even delete the savegame even though the server hasn’t even been used yet.
Any clue what is happening?

Yeah it's an issue atm, there's a roundabout way to delete a line in the coding but even if that succeeds the custom options don't work.

For my part, I retrieved the "servergamesettings.json" and "serverhostsettings.json" files from StreamingAssets > Settings >
and manually edited them with Notepad to configure the server, saved them, and then replaced them on the server.
You need to delete the line:
"UnlockedResearches": [], from the servergamesettings.json file, as this line is causing the problem.
Be careful, because deleting this line will only allow you to launch the server, but your settings will not be taken into account.
That's why you need to take the files and modify them all manually.
I just tested it, and it works for me. I should point out that you need to modify the ports in the host file, as they are incorrect in the server file.
