Yes and no. Mods can be tricky. Any little thing can change and the mod author may not have something updated.

Possibly both. I think if you update through Steam, you wouldn't need to do anything on the server.

I think the most obvious thing to try first is to redo your favorites.
Searching for a server is pretty useless since they don't all get listed.
Completely remove your server from favorites. Re-add it using the IP and port on the site.

But, if your server was already moved, that would explain why you wouldn't be able to find it. Especially your friend since they would need to re-add it as well with the updated IP/port
