i just bought a server on xbox and i pressed x to go to the advanced settings but it just says loading your server and then starting. does it just take a bit for the server to boot up and register or is it a glitch of some sort?

Yes this is normal. On initial startup, it can take as long as an hour. It doesn't always happen, but most of the time it does. It's loading files.
If it takes longer than an hour or it errors out, contact GPortal support.

No problem! Early on, this didn't happen for that long. But, since there have been updates, it seems to be happening now. I believe there are just more files to load.
It shouldn't happen again after the first start. It may take a little longer than normal after using verify game files, but not any other time.
