I may not understand your question. The server isn't free. Are you looking for a way to make the server free? Did I understand you correctly?

GPortal only provides the server. They dont install mods for you or set up your settings. That's all on the customer to do with how they want.
If you're having a problem with a mod, you can also contact the mod developer if that is the problem.

I would suggest contacting GPortal support. If something isn't working, they can at least check to see if there is an issue on the server itself.

I do recommend that you learn how to use ftp programs such as filezilla.

It's a learning curve, but once you get it, it's not difficult.

Can’t you just click on the no build cost tab and it’s all free on your server settings? You don’t need mods for that.

It should already be enabled in build menu.

Just make sure your server is shut down/turned off first, then enable that toggle in the settings, then restart/turn on server.

Afterwards the building mats should not require any resources.

Try verify game files after making changes if they don't work. Also, if you are trying to change settings, turn the server off first, verify game files, restart. See if that works.

That is a great option as well though is verifying the file changes. Also another thing that might be overlooked is saving the changes before moving from that settings page.
