Star rank impossible on Track 7 Chorus 6 and "Be gentle! I need that thing!" Challenge bug

Have encountered a couple bugs in my game. I have no idea if it has been the same for anyone else, but seeing as nobody has said anything about this online I'm assuming nobody has realized or it's only happening to me.

Bug 1# - Track 7 Chorus 6 no hit star is impossible
No matter what... No matter how well I do, for some reason it is impossible for me to get the star for no hitting Track 7 Chorus 6 fight on Very Hard difficulty. I've beaten that fight about 6 times without getting hit and gotten an S in all categories (Time, score and Just timing) And yet the game never awards me the star for the no hit. (I would send an example of me beating the fight without getting hit but don't know if I'm allowed to send links)
I have seen a video of someone getting the star on Rhythm Master difficulty, so my guess is that this is only a bug on Very Hard difficulty, but I haven't tested on other difficulties yet.

Bug 2# - "Be Gentle! I Need That Thing!" Wall of Fame challenge
For whatever reason, this wall of fame challenge does not want to work for me. The challenge says to "Beat track 10 without letting the cannon's HP drop below 50%" and I have. Twice. This time on Easy mode I made sure to make note of what the cannon's HP was at right before the cutscene of getting launched and it seemed to only have lost about 5% of it's HP. So I don't understand what's going on?

Anyone else had these issues? Anyone know how I could fix them? Any and all help/advice is appreciated. It's really bumming me out especially the wall of fame challenge being bugged :(

Update <t:1771353404:R> I got the "Be Gentle! I need that thing!" When it had like 98% HP left on the cannon. I don't know why it worked now and not before? (On Normal Difficulty btw)

have you been retrying on this checkpoint trying to get the star, or has this happened across multiple restarts of track 7 very hard?

also very cursed that it wouldn't give you the cannon one until like just now

I just retried it from the checkpoint since I didn’t feel like restarting the WHOLE Track from the beginning

that makes me wonder if there's something wrong with your current progress in the track that's affecting this fight

That’s why I’ve been dying to know if literally anyone else have had these issues I’ve run into 😭

Feels like Im the only one who’s wanted to 100% the game with a S Star rank on every track on every difficulty and no one noticed these bugs or something

i got real sick of all the savescumming i had to do to get that on rhythm master, so i ended up just doing speedrun strats for the other difficulties ngl

eventually i want to get a true hitless run without any of that

Also I still have no idea why the cannon thing just fixed itself. Very strange. I beat it once on Very Hard without letting it drop below 50%. Then I did it again because I thought maybe it did drop below 50(since I didn’t pay attention to it the first time) and then I still didn’t get it. And THEN I got it on Normal difficulty - 3 attempts before it worked 😭

Unrelated to the bugs but, what do you mean save scum? Did you die a lot or something? You only have to restart the whole thing if you die, right?

if i got hit id restart checkpoint and redo the fight until i got a star

Ah alr then - in my mind “savescum” would be backing up the save, then reloading that save, not like just simpl ly restarting the checkpoint

i would've done that for something like track 4 chorus 6, where the game instantly saves the moment it's done

and if i didn't get S rank id need to reload the backup save

Yeah I should’ve looked into how to do that. I’ve tried but it still just had the same save when I tried overwriting the save game file. But I am done with the bosses pretty much so I don’t think I need to worry about having to that anymore

Still.. maybe I’ll try going back to track 7 chorus 6 on other difficulties as well as going back to Very Hard and seeing what happens. Still hope someone might know what the problem is or whatever

Strange indeed
Is this only on Very Hard mode? And only this chorus?
I've only done no hit runs on Rhythm Master and I did all the tracks (with lots of save scumming), had no issues there.
Though I haven't launched the game in a while, and there was a minor update to the game recently to remove denuvo (and change the logos), so maybe this was introduced with that(?)

I have not currently tried to test with other difficulty levels, other than Very Hard. But from that run-through, it was indeed JUST that Chorus. No other fight was this unwilling to give me a star for my efforts… I will test with other difficulty levels soon, though.
But like I said, I saw a video of a guy getting the star on Rhythm master, so until I’ve tested it for my self, it’s only Very Hard where this is an issue.

i checked my stats and turns out my t7c6 very hard also didn't have a star. but im pretty sure i just took damage that time. anyway i just redid the whole level without any skips, just how a regular player would do it, and i ALMOST got full no-hit except at the very end with the dog im so tilted lol. but i did end up getting a star for c6. so idk. here's the recording up to c6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZg8aHPezf8

idk if my save file or rather, the way i backed it up is correct, but im on the latest version

did you end up replaying it/a different level etc and scrap your progress then? if so, hopefully you can get it to work, but if you get the issue AGAIN, then feel free to send the file. maybe i can get someone to look at it (i have no idea how to)

No I didn't test with other difficulty yet or replaying it. I've kinda been putting it off a bit tbh, but IF it happens again ill make sure to send the file, though i have a suspicion that replaying it will fix the issue

if you haven't touched the level select since and you haven't progressed past the fight (with cnmn roasting chai) then the save is probably good

even if you've been doing rhythm tower or arcade

Yeah no I have progressed alright. Been on the quest to 100% everything and I have done A LOT since that point. Right now Im going through rhythm tower the second time for the wall of fame challenge

Solved: I simply had to do it again. For anyone who are having issues along the way to 100%, just give it another attempt and hopefully it doesn’t happen again
