I think it would a good idea for everyone in a session to learn a new recipe at the same time. recently watched a video where a content creator was playing with his friends. When he found a new recipe, he was the only one able to learn it. Allowing the whole group to learn it all at once would make group progress feel more rewarding, as well as not leave other people behind who have IRL obligations and can't play as much.
