I've updated this proposal @blissful dagger by reducing the cost in half, and providing a small amount of context based on current price of $VOI.

They have been tremendously helpful—warranted and needed 👍

I appreciate the spaces. Been a great way to keep up and feel connected with the ecosystem. This has my full support.

Reasonable. Justified.
I've witnessed a few spaces where new users were onboarded and also attend regularly to see what is going on ; )
May set a precedent for future initiatives; however, I would like to see an agreement on deliverables and KPI metrics.

The Space Hosts Grant is a valuable proposal that should be passed due to its undeniable contribution to Voi Network’s community engagement and ecosystem growth. Over 200 X Spaces have been hosted by IceAge, Myself, Bagman, and Haroof, helping educate and entertain the community while promoting decentralized discussions on Voi’s governance, technology, and future. These efforts have been crucial in maintaining and growing Voi’s active user base, fostering a strong, knowledgeable, and engaged community.

Funding this retroactive grant request of 540,000 VOI tokens not only compensates the hosts for their commitment but also encourages continued participation in community-driven events. By recognizing these contributions, Voi will further reinforce its decentralized ethos, ensuring the long-term health and growth of its ecosystem. The return on investment through increased user engagement and network adoption makes this grant not only reasonable but essential.

This retroactive grant is a modest ask. I personally look forward to building up my Wednesday spaces as we move forward and providing the metrics to back it up.

having attended and supported many voi spaces, it makes me feel like a sucker for being around for free.

One thing I would love to see is some giveaways in the spaces

We should stick with token giveaways. They are more liquid.

#

Why not buy a set amount of a token with Voi before every space and then give it away in that space.

We could, as this process becomes more streamlined for funding.

Up until now I have been giving small amounts to new wallets; both VOI and UNIT. This could be expanded to the outreach token we discussed. If there was an expectation of recovering VOI I could have a budget for each space and make it more attractive to attend to at least farm some tokens.

Haroof was a speaker in my weekly Vechain space and kept talking about his $UNIT people seemed to like it 🙂

Everyone does.

I see now this is a retroactive grant and not a future grant. I think going forward we should create a program out of this so people know what to expect and also know what is expected of them.

It is difficult to put a value to the work that was done already because we don't want to reward people for the time they put in but rather the value they created.

I personally got a lot of value out of these because I had a place to go at night to chat with everyone. But personal value is different than value to Voi.

I think people should definitely be rewarded for the value they added though.

I also didn't see a lockup period on this request either. I think that since the majority of the work that was done with these was during testnet without a value it is hard to see if it effected the overall value. Because of that I would recommend that whatever the payout is should be put on at least a 12 month lockup just like all the other testnet grants that are going out.

I think that's fair. As far as value to Voi, without regular spaces on X there's no opportunity for outreach and activity. Future spaces should be graded more on metrics including outreach and new users acquired.

Ultimately, $15 per hour or so is insanely cheap to have spaces ongoing where members can join 4 nights per week. The the community decides they aren't valuable, most of them will likely stop.

I also think there is a danger to blanket payout as well. I think I understand why this retroactive grant is done this way but going forward I think that it would be good to allow space runners to compete for more incentive.

Council Overall Sentiments:
Great change for improved transparency.

This is good, I'm ready to vote

I'm in favor of passing this to recognize the effort and value brought by the hosts of Voi Spaces during Testnet. I personally find these spaces to be valuable in order to gauge community sentiment, and have witnessed and/or been involved in onboarding, troubleshooting, marketing, dissemination of news, and town hall style discussions during these spaces.
Having a constant presence on X for live discussion is vital to Voi’s Word of Mouth growth.

Let’s get our space hosts supported for the countless hours they put in!

The proposal is detailed and the team behind it have proven themselves. Not to mention, the team have provided exceptional value to the Voi ecosystem.

As this is a retroactive grant, I would like to see more information related to the KPIs; some hard data. While I generally approve of this proposal, but KPIs that can provide a measure of success can be helpful for, not only future grants, but help other individuals/entities understand what success looks like.
Collectively many spaces have been held and I have witnessed new community members onboarded. In the future, I would like to see engagement metrics and the program adjusted towards sustainability.
