“Error: Character Definition Too large” issue

So I’m trying to talk to a ai character and for some reason when I’m trying to reply it tells me “Error during character generation, Error Character definition too large” and I’m trying to figure out how to fix that and for some reason I can figure out why

If the definition of the character larger than the context size, nothing can be done

if you read the error, it literally says the definition is too large

yea but i still can't believe there's a bot with the definition size more than 8k lol

If on janitor, I'm pretty sure they actually have a cap of 3k for the bot definitions before they start telling you it's too large.

In chub I saw some bots months ago that exceeded 20k context ☠️

I think one was an isekai generator and the other was a tower simulator or something like that

Just as they told you above, this problem indicates that the char card is too long, that is, its description exceeds the 8k of context that the model supports, so it is impossible get an answer

The only way to fix the problem is to edit the character yourself and delete all the text and information that you consider unnecessary to reduce tokens
