Is there a way to force a bot that has been made in one language (eg english) produce responses in another (eg french)?
I have tried to just write my own message in another language, and the bot simply translates the text and replies in its standard language.
It isn't a real issue, i'm just curious.

Not really no i dont think so. If an AI has only been trained with one language for your example now english then it would mostly try to translate any foreign language you are providing it. But im not 100% on it.

Maybe if you would put example dialouge in it it may respond in the language you are aiming for but otherwise it has mostly to do with thr api model.
Mostly on how the api is trained for it if it can support other languages aswell is what im trying to say.
