#I think the new patch is overall going in the correct direction

Everyone hates change because they feel like it disadvantages them but in my opinion this patch has the greatest skill expression possible from both strikers and defenders yet.

Dribbling should not be a matter of spamming Vexis animation cancels over and over, but should be a matter of predicting the defender and outplaying them.

I also like that defending has a higher skill ceiling now with the autoassist off. Bad defenders will need to correct their habits and can't rely on the computer to guess for them, while good defenders will beat good dribblers who can no longer rely on spamming vexis to force autoassist tackles to go in the wrong direction 90% of the time.

I generally think rematch is heading in the right direction and I like the game a lot more every patch. I'm not a fan of a techy animation cancel dribble meta where one guy dribbles through three people because their tackle autoassist locks on wrong.

I think the game is much healthier with a passing and teamplay meta over one where a dude spams the same move over and over and expects to beat multiple defenders.

I dont man, for me personally this is the worst the game has felt. I'd honestly rather defend against the ippy or v-dash than this. I don't even have a problem with the tackling changes, I think they're warranted. Defending just feels so awful now and the twitchy dribble move spam isn't remotely enjoyable to play against or use.

If you asked me how I felt about this patch when it came out, I would’ve said it was pretty bad. But now that I’ve gotten used to it, I think it’s actually pretty nice. Everything feels pretty balanced now. The game is in a good spot IMO, although dribbling still needs a tiny slight buff (dribble push ball backwards is not viable anymore)

So, it worries me with sloclap’s latest dev talk discussing how they’re aiming to remove other features like push cut and stuff. I think it’s fine

The twitch dribbling is more broken than it's ever been. What the fuck are you talking about

With hitbox changes, faster defensive stance dashes, vexis dash removed, magnet nerf, no stam ippy remove, etc… dribbling is inherently worse. But it just requires more skill now

#

I’d like to see something added to compensate the removal of any viable dribble backwards options IMO (at least on controller, probably not as affected for mnk)

Raw Push ball is a lot better now though, so I think that’s really the saving grace for any dribbler outside of the box

Completely disagreed. Dribbling is tremendously overpowered right now, even without vexis present. Before it was skewed way towards defense, now its skewed towards dribbling. Sloclap are yet to find proper balance.
