Lowkey the custom servers need worked on as well for us to wanna actually compete at a higher level and properly have matches because once someone lags out it switches the whole momentum some teams have and in that is the main reason why people are leaving the game due to high server issues especially with how I can be on west and east servers but be fine and I live in central so once im in my own home server im lagging to all hell and dcing left and right. Like yah I would love free entry’s and stuff but we should also worry about the tremendous amount of issues the servers have when we do these big events

Not to interject. Everyone respects MRC obviously as #1. I do think a large part of the reason you haven't heard of us has had more to do with the inability to partner and lack of collaboration / promotion etc. We always post within the Rematch Discord and appealed to businesses outside of Rematch for funding and just presented this to SLOCLAP. Pretty much every league besides RML told us no ( which we understand leagues pop up everyday) but i think thats a large part to do with it. We have always welcomed all teams

For the record, SPK FC did not participate in this tournament. We only sent our third team to play for fun, and we couldn’t even be bothered to show up for that. There simply isn’t enough real competition right now to justify taking the tournament seriously in its current form. Any top team that’s participating is doing so mostly for laughs. As Twrtle mentioned earlier, if this tournament actually received proper support, top teams might start taking part in a genuine, competitive way.

I will reiterate, I am not against other organizers. It is good for the game. However, I have seen too many leagues and tournaments scam people in my life and am picky about who I do promote. If that makes you think I don't care about this community, after everything I have done and all the time, effort, and financial support I've given.. Then I don't know what to tell you. I am also against the use of AI in graphics, and look for professionalism from organizers I promote. Which includes discord server layout, rulebook, structure, and overall competitive fairness. This goes for any and all organizers that wish to partner with MRC. You will be judged at a very high standard, and that's it. If others are willing to support them (yes even Devs), that will not change my decision. I really don't owe anyone an explanation on this. But, I just wanted to put this out here since for whatever reason that guy decided to say deragatory things about my organiziation and I feel it is not deserved in the slightest. My staff deserves nothing but respect from the community. They have done more than probably all of you, and they get no recognition, or literally anything in return. Bro I just don’t get how people are even arguing with eachother in here over these leagues and all this beef abt “monopolies” 😭. the post was moreso the community wants sloclap to maybe take a larger role in the competitive scene and communicate more with the remaining players, it’s been 9 months and although we know sloclap has plans, it would reassuring for those of us who are left to hear at least a tiny bit about them.

I have nothing but respect for the Devs of the game, I play every day and I’ve played every sponsored tourney, even the EU ones 😭 so we’re definitely all greatful they are supporting us at all.

However, although there’s a LOT of great discussion about smaller things or bugs or promotion etc etc. I think if there was one thing, the main takeaway, that I wish sloclap could get from this post, is that the comp scene has been running itself for 9 months, and although for the most dedicated players that isn’t a huge glaring issue at the moment, there has been a huge amount of high level talent leave this game, because there is an extremely high level of uncertainty around the future of the scene.

A - (I believe this is correct but I could be wrong) this topic has only been briefly addressed once by sloclap in the AMA in a Reddit comment, and once in a devblog where they didn’t reveal very much about their plans, but said something along the lines of “we’re working with community leaders”

B - we really have no idea what the plans are for the future of the esport. Obviously the game isn’t in a state to run huge lans right this second for huge prize pools, but if you guys communicated your plans with us even a little bit more I’m 100% more players would stick around with something to finally look forward too.

For reference, the next highest post literally has 40 upvotes in about a month. This one has 300 upvotes, 200+ 100s, and 770+ total reactions in less than 24 hours. This is obviously something that is important to the player base, there hasn’t been a post this big ever.

Hey everyone! I’m happy everyone is so passionate on this topic! At the moment our main concern is polishing and fixing the game to get it where we think it needs to be for a more esport ready game. Our ideal timeline is ~season 5 , I know that seems far away but we’re dedicated to still supporting tournaments in the short term. The team is so happy a good amount of the community turned out for this forum, we truly see how much this means to everyone and it means a lot to us too. In the coming weeks you’ll see patch 9 and little after the roadmap. I do wanna say we do have a long term and a short term plan for the esports ecosystem.

The main points I saw from this forum were

Access tournaments via in game menus.
This is a cool idea, but as I stated earlier with the core dev team being small we need to prioritize other things at the moment.
More marketing
We do have a marketing plan soon-ish! Sorry! I can’t share more.
Long term tournaments support (or a plan) / mainly Petey’s since the format is favored

I’ve spoken with Pya we discussed how they’ll have more internal meetings regarding this situation. (Unfortunately some folks at the office couldn’t make it today ) There’s unfortunately no eta more details on their meeting. I’ll try my best to relay as much as I can.

Something Pya was telling me was the esports scene grew way faster than they thought it was going to. Which is an amazing scene in terms of rematch. In the meeting they’ll go over how to restructure how they’ve been doing the esports as a whole.

@hard laurel I know this is a big ask, since I know you guys keep most things under wraps, but if you guys could share even something small about the “short term plan” for esports you mentioned it would mean a lot to the community. It’s sort of the whole point of this post, and it would give the players who have already been so dedicated for such a long time, something to look forward to and hopefully keep them around longer. Right now all we know is that there is something in store, but we don’t know what it is. We understand the game is not ready for a full blown esports scene, but we are in the short term for the next few months until season 5

their goal is a patch per month, theres been 3 patches per season, we are about to be on patch 9, patch 10 comes with season 3 so we will get season 5 with patch 16(i think) which is gonna be 6-7 months out

season 0- patch 1-3
season 1- patch 4-6
season 2- patch 7-9
season 3- patch 10-12
season 4- patch 13-15
season 5- patch 16

so ~16 months from launch which is all the way in november 2026
