#Increasing the penalty for abandoning ranked matches early.

Still, too many players leave ranked matches due to a lack of confidence, huge doses of embarrassment, and absolute rage when they are scored on. This was supposed to be fixed in the most recent update, however a 5 minute ban from playing is nothing and won't correct the player for his/her mistake.

I suggest increasing the ban time to at least 20 minutes, and the time would only increase if the player consecutively leaves matches.

Players disconnecting is very common, and that is why a reconnect option is available. It is very unlikely a player disconnects right BEFORE the game ends, therefore it is not worth trying to balance out occurrences like that.

Players must finish the game before they can leave, as it is only fair to their teammates.

Should you disagree, explain why. If you believe you should have the right to leave in the middle of the match without suffering consequences then you need to go play quick-match or get on a different game entirely.

I agree with punishing leavers, but not at the end
Yesterday I got disconnected at last 15 secs twice

And I wasn't able to join in time

I think a better idea would be to improve player reporting. If a player has disconnected or been reported too frequently the game could prompt the other players before the match if they want to play with the quitter

#

Mathmatically you could do it as: Out of 10 games, did they misbehave in at leat 4 of them? Label them as a quitter, and give people the choice of whether or not to play with them.

People deciding not to play with you counts as having played a game the whole way through for fairness reasons

#

And maybe reset the count the next day

My idea is this: If an opposing team has a player who hasn't been in the game for the last 2 or 3 minutes, they should be given a chance to make up the missed opportunity so they don't lose points. If a player leaves the game and doesn't re-enter for 2 or 3 minutes, they should receive a 5-minute penalty for not being able to queue, and if they leave the game 2 or 3 times in this way throughout the day, they should receive an additional 2-minute penalty. So, the second penalty should be 7 minutes, and the third 9 minutes.

Important: If you give a longer penalty than 2 minutes for leaving the game 2 or more times, the player will just wait motionless, then move when they get an AFK warning, or they'll do other things like help the opposing team. I think the penalty shouldn't be too deterrent. At least, when a reporting system is implemented, we can report them in-game, and if they do the same in other matches, the people there will also report them, and they'll get penalized again. That's the only way it could work.

20 minutes seems reasonable for a first time offense in an x-day period. I'm sympathetic to people having connection issues having problems with this, but it's unfortunately a needed change to start cleaning up this game's community

This is why I said in my post that I think it is not worth trying to find another way of dealing with that specific issue of disconnection before the match ends. The simplest solution is to improve the servers
