As a player who gets the ball can be instantly tackled. With the ball you cant do any input to survive the tackle.

  1. add instant dribble after you get the ball so you can dodge the tackle

  2. or make the instant tackle delayed so you can out dribble that normally

That change would fix the Tackle only Meta

100%. It's so annoying to just have a staredown contest in the middle of a game because you loose if you take the ball

Another thing is: When the ball is on the ground, two players wait until the other picks up the ball to then tackle it.

Sometimes there are Tackle fights from midline to keeper, because you cant do any other input other than Tackle the ball to avoid being tackled

I would argue those tackle fights add to the strategy and mindgames, since one could be faster to the ball and risk it, or both players understand it's a 50/50 and are trying to time it.

And personally I don't mind them, but I agree there could be more complexity added, so it's not just a button mashing in the corners.

The recovery animation is reduced as is, and slide got nerfed way back, tf else u wanna take from defending lol

Or maybe a tiny push ball would help when you get the ball pass instead of magnet in the character

Currently the movement is hard to controll with that slides if you turn around. Maybe tiny movement updates will help in the Tackle meta

if u cant lock someone down that is your fault completely that's a skill issue you didn't put enough into learning defense just like in realife if someone puts in the effort to learn dribbling they should get past you easy but if you also put in the effort to learn defense then your locking them down and thats issue with the game defense right no currently is better than Goalkeepers and thats a fact

i think another problem is, that system: slide > tackle > any other input

like if you want a pushball to another direction and he tickle the ball with a tackle the ball get strait forward again.
you have to predict that enemy would tackle, then you have to "glitch abuse" vexis dash or ippy tech to magnet the ball back to you.
there is no other way to avoid being tackled instantly when getting the ball...

I mean like a tiny push when receiving the ball in general
