After a draw there could possibly be a voting if the players wanna go to overime or pens or there could be a overime timer then pens, this would make the game so much more thrilling

I'm down for this idea 100% because the overtime of 10+ minutes is also intense but having everyone take penalties would be a great way to have everyone on board to get a shot in

How would penalties work, exactly? Attacking team has one person at a time trapped in the penalty box, the ball stuck on the penalty spot, and they have to approach a stationary ball and get one touch to shoot it into the goal, while the goal keeper is trapped on the line until the ball is struck?

Because that would feel pretty bad with how this game works, imo.

Googling showed me what that is. I could see that functioning. However... I feel like overall that'd take longer to finish than just playing until the next goal 99 times out of 100.

And given that implementing this sort of thing is time/money, I wouldn't hold my breath for something like this to happen any time soon.

I would say 5 second timer goalie is unstuck and the shooter is unstuck, you get 5 seconds within the box to get it in the goal, if the goalie touches it and gets it or the ball goes out of bounds its a save and move onto the next player. quick and easy.

or traditional penalties, aim where you want the ball to go and the goalie has to save it, simple

likely scenario on public matches that go to OT where penalties of some sort are implemented are:

  1. If it's a voting system, people in a hurry are going to vote for whatever will get them out of the match soonest... so they will likely choose sudden death OT (what we already do).

  2. If it's a voting system and somehow penalties are voted on, people in a hurry are going to dip immediately to start another game.

  3. If it's not a voting system and penalties are mandatory, people not good at 1v1 are going to dip.

well yeah, this is the suggestion section of the discord! It's all opinions all the time here! It's nothing personal, I just don't think the game needs it, nor do I think it'd be a good return on investment for the devs.

Early leavers leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Incentivizing leaving early should be something to avoid.

plus people quit the minute they start to lose anyways, I've played way too many 1v3's after a 0 - 1 score, the disconnect problems will always persist anyways, at least give me a fair chance to do penalties if i get one goal and time waste, that way i have a viable way to at least try and keep playing and not just dip aswell

well, that's the life of the solo queue. Find friends that like this game, or seek out a group of like-minded people that already have a group that plays. This game is 100x better with a full stack of players that know each other's styles and abilities. Solo queuing in games of this ilk is brain cancer to me. 😄

I guess that brings up another point: I would totally be down for the MSL style penalty shoot out if it were my actual teammates shooting/defending. That'd be fun to watch. But I'm not at all interested in randos playing while I spectate.

this game is not aimed at pleasing just sweats or just casuals... it's aimed at anyone remotely interested in futbol/soccer + video game that has a wallet. 🙂
