#Minimap removal to encourage players abilities
1 messages · Page 2 of 1
Shooting aim is decent
Conservative pushing, dribble stance, ronaldo chops, then a pass or failed direct shot (working on how to setup shots now)
honestly
this might be weird
but if your enemy really wants to steal from you
just use the X shot above them
and sprint
nobody does it so it's hard to predict
Learnt how to push ball up field push without sprinting
bad idea
Wait…
your sprint should be your main dribbling tool
It is
I mean i can't teach you because we have different styles of play
everyone likes something else
but personally
if you're here to score goals not assists
minimap AND stamina bar should be removed, gathering info is a skill 🤬
I agree
Bruh
guys
please remove the sprint bar
and make it so if you use it without it being full
you fall over
and can't move for 20 seconds
knowing when it's recharged
finally some good changes
should take more skill
guys please make it so if you slide tackle at someone
you break their legs
This is extreme
that would allow a lot of skill expression
dribbling should take more skill
Lol
also
Yea you gotta move each foot when walking
there's this one shot
make it so you have to blink
or you go blind
Lol
I think removing it for ranked game is actually a great idea
It didn’t happen often but sometimes I really got caught off guard when someone tackled me from behind and grabbed the ball
Disabling it would encourage players to actually keep an eye on both teammates and enemies
Really like the idea 👍
Or you could just gitgud with the map and your eyes
I don't really use it
because i want to score
cool goals
its this one
if you just want to get a ton of goals
just do this
it is like the most basic shooting strategy
I won't EVER use it
buddy if i see an open goal and its not bc i dribbled the enemy
more powerful volley
🤬
remove the british accents instead of the minimap
buddy
Sorry but
I wanna do the shot into the goal
not into the wall from walking 50 meters
I'll experiment with the mechanics more
and experiement with what you did and find my own way of striking
just do whatever you like
I think i'm close
if you find your ideal playstyle
Not there yet
guys
when the game is out
we should make a team
and create
the worst team ever
Hmm
the egoist who refuses to pass and only makes cool shot
I'll be midfielder until i'm good enough to strike
also I can be goalie if the goalie needs a break
I can be goalie
let me send
my goated clips guys
uhh
so ik i have a few goalkeeping clips
so im just looking at ones where i start with gk
and all of them end with my goal
😭
I can goal keep pretty well
although I suck at dealing with strikers very close to me
otherwise I'm consistent at stopping goals and bring the ball out far
btw i know i was hating
but there's nothing wrong with passing
i do it too
turst guys
see!
i can pass too
being serious
there's nothing wrong with playmaking
but if you want to score
just go out of your way and do it
If you want to improve on striking
don't stay as a midfielder until you can do it
just strike until you get better
if my obs was working I'd show u
but its def worth getting the ball higher for the shot
as a one trick I'd know
😎
If you work on your skill
your teamplay will improve
being able to dribble well gives you better ways to pass if you don't want to score
@wide kernel Being a versatile player I would like to switch between just plan striking and playing midfield and scoring wen opportune
But..rn I need to improve my raw striking skill for that to work out
"make players who already have a tough time have an even harder time"
if you are having a hard time just play normal games and not ranked
until you get good
kinda logical ngl
!!
or just make the game more accessible
good players arent using minimap anyways so
shouldnt matter
what
good players will position to where they dont need to look at minimap to see everyone, so minimap is there to help the more casual players who arent playing optimally. ie making it more accessible
it's not some cheat code its QoL for new players
the discussion is removing map from ranked
i guess new players will play normal games until they feel comfortable in the pitch
and then move to ranked
i agree good players dont even use minimap
but still
u understand u need casual players to play comp
you can take advantage of it
it does affect
u lose games cuz ur opponents know where u are?
you have to be positioning urself and properly moving the camera fast to get information
of the pitch
yap yap
thats part of the skill of the game
if its not hard then why a new player would need a map
you are contradicting yourself
xD
QoL
??
it can be easy and also be for QoL
have u ridden a bike
I assume u used training wheels to start
no one even looks at the mini map
Big incorrect buzzer
Yea, I don't even rely a lot on the minimap. So what, you are going to take away the ability to edit SFX volume because I use sounds more than just camera on Rematch?
lmao
agreed
Sounds are realistic
I love when I shoot the ball and it sounds like a Gunshot
i mean it damn near do irl lmaoo
I don't know who you are kicking the ball that hard
but that shit does NOT sound like a literal gunshot
in rematch im pretty sure one of the kicking animations has the sfx of a gun
this ain't blue lock 2 gun volley bro
It does sound like a missile sometimes theres one effect which I can briefly remember being a bit much
in game sounds the same as irl other then a few sound fx, but i wasnt claiming that the sound effects were realistic. I was stating that irl you use your ears which is realistic to have in game.
Don't really see the need to remove the minimap
no one really uses it when they're locked in because it's a distraction
Its not needed, its simply depends on which direction the game wants to go in.
Other then aiming I was simply using it and teaching my teammates to stare directly at it when theyre not on the ball.
or bicycle kicks every other shot
I mean maybe
the only reason i see to use it when you're decent
is to know exactly where the ball is landing
without looking back
Those just increase the skill ceiling, they dont lower it.
the minimap doesn't really make the skill ceiling lower
It does awareness wise
The pitch is too small to make it truly make a difference
if they add a 11v11 i could see the point of removing the minimap
but rn
nah?
my claim is for it to just be taken out of the 5v5 ranked
why
and dont use ther word skill ceiling
imma use whatever word i want to use lol
well you arent using it correctly
thats why i would like to hear you use otyher words
maybe to help you explain it better
I mean it is true
it doesn't lower the skill ceiling
because the minimap isn't useful to good people
i mean it is
Not calling myself a great player but I only realized the minimap even is there
after like 15 games
its usedyl to everyone
it is
now worse players dont use it the same as higher ranked players
i mean if it was truly the op tool people call it
it would
because you don't have to use your awarness
But if you have like
ok but its not
7/10 positioning
you don't need the minimap
I think Im no longer against minimap, yes is an advantage for defense positioning, but I realize that is also an advantage for dribbling, since you can see if someone is reaching you from behind, so i think is good
Good boy
whaa
plotwist
I feel like minimap will be used soon after the game cones out by high level players to scan without moving the camera
@earnest wave It's not consistent as just looking at people's behaviour though
it's more than enough the marker will show patterns too
That requires scanning those behind you as well though
very true, should only have mini map in normal mode, but ranked mode should not have mini map to make the match more realistic and difficult (it will make the game more interesting) !!!
nothing much you can do I feel except just getting used to it. I really want better cam controls. Or not, the minimap is better than nothing. You can't possibly have an R1 modifier in your control scheme and not have more robust camera controls. If you are going by track record, Sloclap does not have good track record with cameras in their 2 games to begin with
Issue is what besides gyro there isn’t much you can do for controllers other then locking unto the ball
they could do last known camera angle or goal cam

or even lock onto player objects
player object lock might be too strong as it may result in more consistent half court goals
Huh, what you're actually suggesting here is to make gathering information significantly HARDER than real life.
It's MUCH EASIER and quicker in real life to turn your head than it is to turn your camera with a joystick.
If you want to disable something in higher ranks, it should be the ability to bounce the ball off walls around the goal.
Which honestly feels far too cheap for me to use voluntarily.
Main difference between irl and rematch (or basically any other game) is fov.
Ppl talking about spatial awareness and perception forgot to mention that we see on a 200° fov, against the screen + 90-110° fov in-game..
This specifically makes it much harder to scan, and like others have said kb/m would then be completely OP when compared with controller.
people kind of forget that 55" gaming is a thing

so they will have more information then an average gamer
That's another argument against removing minimap
Minimap allows for different hardware to be equalized in sight
Screen space is not the same thing as fov. Your fov in this is capped anyway and theres huge disadvantages competitively to multi monitor setups anyway or ultra wide fov screens so it wouldn't be worth it. As @earnest wave no minimap actually levels the playing field.
Well that doesn't make sense to me because the point of minimap is to bring the skill gap closer but that doesn't necessarily equate to levelling the playing field. Because high skill players suffer due to removal of a skill gap by having it as a thing. Surely Levelling the playing field would be removing it more so because without it you have to rely on the inherent skill of your own view and view speed. Doesn't matter how big your monitor is sometimes you can't look away from the ball and need to focus on looking at where your team is. So if anything would make it more fair for us all.
I mean it’s already fair
It doesn’t remove a skill gap
Everyone has the minimap
Lower level don’t use it as effectively or in the same way
High level uses it well
Everyone has the minimap ots just information
The skill comes from use of the information
Which is adding so skill
Also there is no inherent skill in vision in view speed
It’s just a setting
So having players be forced to higher their sens just to be able to see faster is limiting players
People have their preferences and it should be taken away or deterred
At least not when it comes to something as basic as sensitivity
Minimap raises the skill ceiling as everyone can have metavision
search up flipmeoverandseason on the gifs thing
i have 3 others
I didn't read the whole thread, but I'll just throw in that if the minimap exists, allow the user to adjust where it is in the HUD. I play Ultrawide and having it be right justified instead of off center inside a 16:9 center box makes it very annoying to glance at.
