Looks really good
How do you move it ? Old fashion backpack system or something else ?
currently it's a static emplacement, same as the tripod MGs
When I implement the proper models and animations, you will be able to disassemble it and carry baseplate and tube separately
But that needs either a game mechanic for carrying, or a mortar backpack which will be additional work ๐
Wouldn't it be easier to set them as pickable objects with an important size ? This way it fits in empty big backpacks
yeah, that's doable as an intermediary step
I want to fix other stuff first before I get to that though
Or even cooler, as the system autorize two guns to be carried at the same time, you could make them like guns, so one guy can carry the whole but gunless or two guys
Yes ofc go as you want
still needs the disassembly step
Yep
Which isn't trivial
I cannot tell that must be difficult you have no sample for disassembling static gun
I bet ๐
using a mortar calculator, getting in editor, plugging 10 digit grids and precisely hitting an artificial Ivan for the first time was really satisfying though ๐
I guess that's the whole point : figuring out things and making it works ^^ you're brave thought, no doubt samples will be added later on and you made it all by yourself
Next step : the devs will use your mod as an official sample ๐
doubt ๐
There's still a lot that's wrong with it and the folder structure and code is not 100% to their standards. Pretty sure of that.
To them the workshop must be a goldmine of examples for coding, even if they rework it
Oh and emplacements are vehicles btw ๐
Wasn't that already the case in Arma 3 anyway ?
I never got into modding Arma 3.
I saw sqf syntax and was like "nah." ๐คฃ
I've heard so many complaints about it I understand you x) I'm more of a mission maker, and tbh the new editor is a whole lot, but a least you don't have to code basic stuff to make it work, like objectives in mp for example
Harder to get the primarly grip, easier to work on it afterward, the same may go with other tools
I like working with this engine/workbench a lot tbh
Is there a rangetable for this?
You know the saying : pray and shoot ๐
I use my dear friend Gen's calculator and modified the muzzle velocity values. Works very well.
Notice that there is a bit of spread due to variations in muzzle velocity (+-3m/s).
