I believe they can do it if they don’t use any content from A3. They’d have to do it completely from scratch

Man, I loved that map…and big maps in general. Hopefully someone from BI can roll in here and just help steer in right direction as you work on it.

You should join new world mods. They have a ton of experienced modders that can not only help with this sorta stuff but also if you ever needed help developing mods.

If this is true then it's nothing to worry about. BI can't do anything for you from using the heightmap of a real island. Just don't copy BIs buildings and your all good
