why would you show ai enhanced picture for showcase
For that reason. Arma caps the graphics of what you show using its terrain editor for "Maximum performance".
I was gonna say bro got that 5090ti turned up 🤣. I was gonna cry and throw my PC out. Map looks great dude excited to get on there. We need more desert maps
You can still max out graphics in the terrain editor
Dont place too much props, those will eat fps so much. Looking good !. Less is more 😄
Please teach me how.
Thanks.
Will try. But making you feel like you're on a proper map is the priority. Custom designed palm trees are already designed to match LODs similar to the original BI-made ones.
Thanks. I got a 3080. Game is running great with everything. Arma renders in objects according to visibility, I'm at max in terrain editor sitting at average of 70 fps. Aim is to create something as detailed to real life as possible. Will optimize later.
Legend 👊
Nice dude, have you tried it yet in actual Arma itself and not tools?
Not yet work is about 30% done. The map is vast and I wanted to try and do a highly detailed desert map. A place I actually been to.
Open the Workbench, go to Workbench > Options > Shortcuts > World Editor
Change "Exit Play Mode" to a different key, I use End
Now Esc will acess the regular main menu and you can change graphics settings same as you would in the normal game
Think there's another way to access this menu in the editor but don't know it
Good to know. I'll give it a try tomorrow.
@round torrent
how long have you been working on this?
2 months in. I did 3D modeling of palm trees, and some prefabs and textures. Currently working on the terrain.
Looking nice keep it going, where have you been in iraq?
Tried with settings you mentioned earlier, thanks for the help!
The level of detail is really astounding (especially at the edges of street corners), incredible looking map. This has potential to be one of the GOATs. Can't wait to see it released.
I appreciate it. It'll take a while before I can finally release it, it'll have an alpha release in 7 months, I just need to finish some of the desert areas and the main camp. Rural areas will be a bit heavy in detail and will have impact on performance, but as far as eye candy goes, many players will spend sometime admiring areas that will be as close as real life.
And overall visuals will be much smoother when ran on the videogame itself (Arma). Taking screenshots seems to drop the quality of what I'm actually looking at on the editor.
Map will feature ~27 pivot irrigation installations which are widely common/seen in central Iraq.
Photo is a Work in Progress demonstration of the feature with background demonstrating sculpted mountains that have not yet been textured properly.
Looks incredible so far
Is it already published?
Still in early development... I'll release in 7 months. Will update if I can publish before then.
Wow
As a guy that installs pivots for a living this is after my heart🔥🔥😂
he should make a pivot asset we can put on more maps
staple item in farming near me
You got it. I'll release the assets separately as soon as I'm done with the terrain
You are the man!!💙💙
When your free anyway you could show me how you set that up? I’ve been trying to learn GM placeables and I feel like I’m always missing a step
Hey, did you register your mod onto the GameMaster config file?
This map looks already so real, I love it man
That's the aim. I appreciate your comment, thanks!
Hi folks,
I have finished nearly more than 50% of the buildings on Khazimiyah town - the biggest town on the terrain. Work is a bit slow on the high-density residential area, I'm populating these areas with the tiniest of details.
I have also spent the better half of the week optimizing, props, buildings and trees so that they may have less impact on performance, especially in town.
Attached are some screenshots demonstrating the work in progress on the town, I have included the FPS count for each area to indicate the optimization, on Ultra graphics. Averaging more than 65fps - lowest 57fps.
Aerial view of town in progress
Dope!
Suggestion: add occasional street debris and rubble.
This improves immersion and allows mission designers to create areas with concealed hazards or environmental storytelling, without giving specifics.
