It's easy to make a placeholder icon for a mod without using a thing that steals from artists and had devastating effects on people and the planet.

AI has been trained "wrongfully" on peoples art, and AI totally uses absurd amounts of power.
But as someone who doesn't have any art skills, using AI to quickly generate some alright art that takes an absurd amount of work for you to do is not something evil. Dont be merked by Dart here.

The giant data centers that are used to run AI models have well known and terrible effects on the environment. It pollutes water, consumes electricity at absurd rates, and poisons the air and makes it difficult to breathe. I'm also terrible at art, I don't steal from artists though.

Defending that shit is inexcusable.

If I am doing this for free then I am using whatever free resources at hand.

The fact that Dart has some sort of conviction on it is fine by me. But with governments dumping waste into the oceans, building cell towers polluting air currents, and creating heat hive megacities I can’t rightly care about glorified server farms.
