#Discussion: Armoury Access Limits & Solo Capture Mechanics

During a discussion with some players yesterday, we explored the topic of why sidelining Arsenal items on the battlefield has become a point of contention. We reached a consensus that replacing Arsenal placements with an Armoury could enhance gameplay.

In this Armoury, players would only have access to weapons, ammunition, and explosives, without any clothing options. This change could encourage those players who often divert to cosmetic options to engage more with the main gameplay.
If** players wish to change their clothing**, they would need to** return to the Main Base**, where full outfit customization remains available

We also discussed the issue of solo players capturing points, which can disrupt the game's intended immersion. It’s evident that a single player can sometimes capture multiple points independently, which detracts from the teamwork aspect we value in Arma Reforger.

To address this, we propose implementing a penalty system. For instance, if a point solely has an Antenna as its service, it would require a minimum of two players to initiate capture. Conversely, for points equipped with additional services, such as Depots or multiple Antennas, four players would be necessary to secure the point.

I would appreciate your thoughts on these suggestions. A positive response could draw the attention of Bohemia and potentially lead to changes.

Discussion: Armoury Access Limits & Solo Capture Mechanics

I think creating a minimum number of players required to begin capturing a point will lead to frustration among those who tend to play in smaller groups. I typically play with 2-3 others, so in the event that one of my buddies is offline or busy on a given day, the rest of us would either be unable to capture bases or need to convince a random to come with us/just follow other randoms wherever they feel like going. In my opinion this would actually detract from the overall teamwork aspect, as it would lead to a kind of "mob mentality" where players all end up at the same place simply because they cannot affect the game anywhere else

Mostly every milsim game has that, why not arma reforger

#

Thats what will make players play with players

#

And not only private groups doing all the job

IMO it's because Reforger attempts to be a more sandbox-y environment. I disagree that it will induce teamwork. I see your argument and i do think in some cases it will be successful, however i think the most common outcome of such a mechanic would be to cause ~80% of each team's players to congregate on a single point at a time simply because thats where everyone else is

Squad has that feature, you don't need to have friends, you make friends by playing with random players, and it will make it so players understand it's a milsim game and not a random battlefield or call of duty game

Thats how actually battlefield works

The "punishment" for playing Conflict like BF/CoF is that your team loses 80% of the time

Seing a random 1 player pushing 1 point blocking you from spawning, is just insane, atleast make it so you can spawn, since it's just 1 player thinking he is in call of duty match

#

It will make is so players actually communicate and make it a group of people pushing points and defending points

# vital coyote Thats good

I get what you're saying, i just disagree that it would be more fun. I like being able to break off and attack behind the lines, or far away, in order to draw the enemy's focus away from somewhere. If Conflict worked the way real war works it would destroy the gameplay loop. I 100% support Reforger/Conflict being as close to realistic as reasonably possible, but i think there should also be player freedom to conduct the attack/defense as they see will be most effective

Its insanely broken if the solo knows what he is doing

If they choose to keep this system then i think it should be much easier/lower rank to spawn at least 2-3 AI on bases. It's unrealistic to expect all bases to be guarded when each team is only 24 players, so having AI at the base to at least give some time to respond is essential
