It looks like it should be correct, assuming that there is a group with the variable name alphaGroup in the mission.
Can you confirm that the trigger is actually activating? There could be a problem with its condition.

You originally had this in the trigger's condition field by accident. When you removed it, did you perhaps forget to put the original condition back (default this )?
