Interior?

sage rapids
#

no

#

I don't got the brainpower to model a interior lmao

LODs?

sage rapids
#

Still working on that, LOD 0 only has 120k vertices/faces, so I’m going to shoot for maybe 5-6 LODs

looks great !

I demand an easter egg on the model of schmidt

sage rapids

Ooo, I can do that

IIRC he said cgtrader

sage rapids

The only thing I’m not using is the textures, as they just don’t look that good in the workbench

faint hare
#

Can you show us the textured ones in game ?

sage rapids
#

If that's the case, I cant since I've done a lot of general mesh editing to get the poly count from 320k to 125k

faint hare
#

But you have original model ?

sage rapids
#

yeah, just don't want to go through the process of setting it up just for some screenshots

OG textures would still work. If you cut things down and messed with the UVs then youd need to hp to rebake it. Doubt you have that seeing as 99.8% of the time sellers do not provide that so if that is the case then you used the LP model to bake onto the new LP then your new textures would be meh at best.

If I check the ploycount for the original file in blender, it gives me ~180k

hollow light
sage rapids
#

could be the import from MAX that is giving me extra poly

yeah, just opened the original FBX file in blender, 58k verts exactly. weiiiird, I must've done something a couple months ago when I originally bought the file.

I still would like to see the OG textures on it. if you didn't move around any UV islands it would still apply correctly. No matter how many times youve split the UV.

sage rapids

switched the light grey edge damage to a more dark grey, made it look like 10x nicer and less noisy

So, after doing some UV packing, this is the new new final texture

Added a good bit more dirt to all the recessed areas to give it a feeling of it actually seeing some kind of field use and not being hot off the factory floor.

If anyone can help me with getting the windows on the turret/hull to be more reflective and not be a matte texture, DM me pls.

You are doing gods work brother

sage rapids

But (imo) gets too pixilated/blury once you try and focus on the details.

#

The og modeler put everything onto a massive UV map, just couldn't get the amount of detail i would like out of the og texture set/fbx files

old umbra
#

better UV map n stuff like that

sage rapids
#

indeed, that's what i'm already doing

old umbra
#

That applies an looks better, can also preset some camos an stuff

#

Are you going to do the intrior?

sage rapids
#

there's a part of me that wants to model a interior after seeing what RHS did, but then there's another part of me that wants to get it on the workshop in a working state then worry about an interior

#

idk what i'm going to do

found a M1 abrams interior, gonna modify it extensively to more mimic what I would expect the booker interiors to look like, but most of the hard work is done, so do expect a interior on release.

Might work very well, ill ask around on reddit maybe i can find someone with pictures!

sage rapids

still need to add paint, colors, and decals, but otherwise the 3d model for the interior is finished

awesome 👍

Because it's new and everyone focuses on it doing cool tank things not the interior
