That seating issue is killer. Literally my biggest gripe about this mod. Everything else though is coming together pretty freakin well.
@cerulean sleet by the way darkgru operator and operator packs are messing with Tods Huey’s and Kioks heli and a lot of other mods not sure if it’s just me.
It’s been reported although don’t know why as we don’t experience the issue

Gear mods cannot affect vehicles, ever, unless they actually include vehicles, and did it wrong... I can confirm it is not caused by the Darkgru mods mentioned, as there is no vehicle config files in any of those mods that make up the Darkgru Op stuff.
Recommendation:
take out all vehicle mods, then put in 1 vehicle mod at a time until you find the culprit...

I can confirm it was because I’ve literally tried everything and it only worked when I removed darkgru multiple mods were broke and fixed immediately after I removed the darkgru mod idk what it is but it somehow messes with it more specifically the operator mods I believe.
if you want help getting to actual bottom of this problem, dm me your mod list - you could be running into memory issues - darkgru ops adds almosts 2gb of mods with the dependencies, but it is not conflicting directly with vehicles. I might even go out on a limb and suggest if you remove 2gb of other mods and put darkgru back in, it would have given the same result.
Unfortunately memory isn’t the issue because I literally got the best server my hosting provided and I don’t even use 20% of it. Unless reforger caps it I don’t think memory is an issue. I’ve added 2 gb of mods in its place and they all run great also apparently I haven’t been the only person running into this issue.
Like I said, if you want another set of eyes on the problem, DM your modlist... I don't mind messing with it until I figure it out

I can use every vehicle mod I tried so far with Darkgru's stuff so it is not directly causing the problem, but glad to help find the true source of the issue

@cerulean sleet My xbox players are reporting that when I add the darkgru helos to my server this is only for xbox players they have to hit rb and right trigger to actually turn right in the helicopter and it affects every helicopter do you know a fix or smth?
No it has to be that way for the dap variant to work but it overrides all vehicles in the game so I did the one that does the least fucking up
Is there any way you can make the dap variant into a separate mod then for I can use the rest of the blackhawks?

The weapon controls are fine the way they are. You can change flight controls, but not gun again for ease of use.
The dap variant doesn't use bgone so there is no issue.
It's really not, it's one button change, and on the exact same side of the controller, RT to RB is so minor, and takes literally 10 mins to get used to, not every helicopter changes to work like that, so if 2 helicopters change bur striders dont for example that makes it even worse
As far as I know DarkGru helis are the only modded helis to use this system. The other helis have a "safety" so u can still use RT without launching anything. I personally like it that way instead but to each their own.
Moreover, helicopter controls have changed three times on the span of the reforger lifespan. Learning temp controls shouldn't be too hard to get around.
Until BI makes a static control for weapon systems and flight control, this is the norm albeit temporarily

Due to the retopo that was done it did a lot of tearing on the UV map so it’s real rough
when i was testing the Chinook last night the first spawned one was fine but i noticed the 2nd one i spawned and every one after that had the front and back landing gear go through the ground mesh, anyone have this happen? Im on PC

The autobrightening is a function of the blackness of the pixels and the number if pixels it takes up on screen

@cerulean sleet question for the chinook. Is there a way to add an option to approach the door? Had an issue brought up when multiple joes stood up at once and the only one left alive was the one closest to the door. Heli blew up. Gonna run some more tests to see if a controlled departure maybe one side at a time or by the numbers stand up and depart
Hmm I could adjust the get out so you teleport to the door and you’d have to do it one at a time probably
For sure love the way you can stand up in it. Like I said gonna run some more tests with different exit methods, I’ll let you know what we find out with the current setup

@spiral sedge it's known, put the weight on the back tires when landing and put the front down gently
It will be a little bit for a update as he wants to fix all it's issues in 1 go, texture, tires meshing, etc.
You just need to take off and land it or drop it from a bit of height and it should work

I know every time my server use pla it breaks our vehicles specifically kiok humvee’s , really wish nato overhaul didn’t depend on pla

@cerulean sleet Have you looked into the entitycatalog issue I mentioned to you that was happening with my Kiowa? King helped me resolve it, was related to the method used to add my modded vehicle to the catalog, if you hit add after, it results in breaking any other mod that is also added to the server.
It may not be that reason that other modded vehicles fail to show, but that is what mine ended up being.
The thing that’s weird is on my milsim we have my stuff and pla and Kiok Humvees and they all show up for us so idk why some have issues and some don’t
Maybe folks with issues need to post up their full mod list, see if there is something outlying somewhere resulting in the issue
May not even be your mods causing it, but folk are quick to blame in this community for some reason

Try TODs hueys for example, or even TODs m113s. Some weapon mods conflict too. Mag Repack is completely incompatible with magazines added from darkgru
See that’s the thing we use mag repack in our realism servers and it works 😂😂
Unless you mean the actual repacking thing but that means the guy that made it has to make it compatible like how the sound guys have to do it for modded weapons. We use unique mags that aren’t the same as vanilla

I have put all the mods in question in one big modpack and everything works fine together... and I have asked for a complete modlist too, still waiting... there is a limit to how much content the game can load, and it's based on memory (could be an artificial limit too). If you run out you don't get all the content.
Could a GM vs conflict server have an effect? For example they might not be showing up in the GM entity browser, whereas they show up on the vehicle spawns at a prefab on a conflict server
that is the effect I speak of, if you don't see the mods in GM that are in your mod list, you likely have too much you are trying to load at once... this game has some some pretty unforgiving caps it seems... but without a complete list of mods to test with I can only give feedback based on what I've seen personally, unrelated to these mods, but related to the symptom that is being experienced... especially after testing these mods for compatibility issues and finding none.

We’re getting a MH-47G and H-47 from someone I think with sling loading and carry capability
Found a breaking bug, The Darkgru Nato Overhaul, makes all boxes when placed turn to US Army boxes
To add to this, it randomly changes any box to US Army faction boxes at random points of time in server no matter how many times we switch them back through GM

The everon patrol vic and the chinese hummer with the chinese Anti-material grenade launcher cannot be reloaded

The issue is we want the clothing and weapons of darkgru but we are required to have darkgru pla which is the mod that has issues and it conflicts with other mods such as Tods Hueys
Do you think you can make a seperate mod that makes some of your RU Overhaul weapons use the RHS Status quo Custom Reload Animation on their VS Val rifle?

were getting rid of RHS on our servers, The mod is growing too large for what we would use out of it and the Dev team seems to like to disrespect other modders more than not because they dont have 10 years of experience. It just doesnt align to our values.
^20 years btw. In any case, no sure what or who you are talking about but RHS as group is happy to see other users join the modding ranks. Also happy to see (at least that is how it looks like) a change of stance in regards to modding, especially considering the former attempts than ended up with one modder of yours getting permabanned from workbench for taking money to make mods and ripping files. He modded for my community however it was not my communities views and the money he took waas from outside the community as himself. Not for DarkGru. that seems to be the big misconception. However ive seen 2 RHS Devs in the last week make negative comments about other modders

Again DarkGru never backed the paying for mods nor ever approved our modders to accept money. Regardless what was advertised or not if that’s what you’re saying. No screenshot proves anything other than the modder in question was free lancing. And using my platform to gain customers which again when we figured out was no longer allowed to mod or be an admin for my server so again the misconception is that it was DarkGru allowing it and it’s simply not true

Someday. The big problem is finding a scripter that doesn't want to suck the barrel of a candy cane cannon anytime they realize the tasks at hand and realize how wacky Arma reforger scripting is in comparison to what they know.
So right now it's a matter of working to improve what the community came up with on their own. Greg is/was working on a more comparable night vision mod. And we have done some fantastic work inside his experimental mod. But only with the tools he's given us.

We are working on everything in a timely matter we have alot on our plate at the moment
The initial release of the Blackhawks and chinook was mearly a test the functions and various tests need
They where not polished and now with the initial test completed we are going in and fine tuning everything and polishing the textures
Just asking why not polish them before release but still be able to test them like some other mods out there
We are not other mods out there
We are taking our time to perfect it to our standards
And were not our top priority

I just haven't had the time to go in and fix them. Bohemia has done a lot of fiddling with their backend daily so Everytime we make changes we have to sit on them for a few days to see if the change improved, didn't change, or deteriorated performance.

i dont have them in my game though even though the mod is in, and i dont see it on the vehicles section of the faction manager either
I suggest adding RU/NATO Overhaul to your modlist as well

I dunno exactly but I know that you can use the DarkGru boat mod by itself but if you have NATO Overhaul enabled then you get guns on them so perhaps its a similar way

Typically armed variants of our vehicles require the NATO overhaul by design.
I've been arranging the vehicle mods in such a way that if someone were to desire to make an armed variant that didn't use our special shit in the NATO pack they could simply do it. All the tools are in the vehicle packs.
So for example you could run our boat mod without the NATO pack installed in the event your server preferred say: RHS or TFM. If you wanted a gunboat you would simply need to either add the turrets yourself or have someone do it.
It's in a way obnoxious but it also saves a massive amount of space and reduces the need for dependencies for people who don't want to run them.
Hey, I don’t know if this has been brought to the creator’s attention but the DARKGRU NATO overhaul mod is broken due to a dependency that’s broken (DARKGRU HELICOPTERS) is all I noticed but it could be more. Just wanted to throw it out there

It’s due to their new little bird, it uses drive-by as a dependency to allow shooting from it

There is also a standalone AH6/MH6 mod out now too with a non ripped texture and mesh too
You cannot buy the attack Z11 on the buyboards either.
Your crash with "Drive By" Is due to a load order conflict with one of two mods.

There may be another one out there im unaware of. Basically "Drive By" needs to be in a certain spot in your json in relation to those other two mods. I don't know where as we don't use either of those mods.
But I can assure you it doesn't crash servers without that confliction in animation overrides. Our servers have been running with drive by since 3 days after it came out.

Ok, well I tried to put stuff on my test server, it won´t download anything till I take out Nato Overhaul :/
But Darkgru Helicopters won´t update to 1.1.14 (it´s still on 1.0.22)
Ok, found the problem, I didn´t realized that the Harbin mod now have the name Darkgru helicopters.. that´s why I got the mod twice in the jason and that´s why my server also didn´t start with the Nato overhaul pack^^

You should really get rid of this sample mod dependency it is making a real mess as it is declared in every other weapons mods or so
in my humble opinion 🙏
Bohemia updates their stuff regularly so rather than going through the process of re-up loading updated animations and such it's ALOT easier to just make the sample weapon mod a dependency as all those bullpup animations are kept to date.
The last update animations are messed with prior to this recent it was a huge mess trying to get everything working again. This made it simple.
If other mods are being messed with by the sample mod it's because they were too lazy to change the animation names to the sample animations they got from the GitHub. If this is the case and I did the same you would still run into issues.
main issue is declaring multiple times the sample_mod magazine script actually
this prevent solo testing with other mods, and so refrain server owners I know from even getting the idea of testing on their server
but I get the part where it's easier for you
That's an issue of the other mod developer uploading a mod with sample mod magazine in their mod.
Of which there's no reason to upload that script

Does darkgru make the Modular vests? I remember them being a darkgru mod but I'm not sure if that's changed, if they are, the Modular vests dont have any armour so you go down in one hit to the chest, is this something that's a bug or intentional?
Modular vests dont have armor value because of repeated complaints on our servers of enemies not dying.

does the operator weapon pack have any known conflicts, im trying to get it to work for a private server but as soon as almost any other mod is active the stuff dissapears from the arsenal/ bacon editor
or is there another mod needed to get it to work, i might be missing something that im not aware of
Does your mod list have WCS Arsenal?
Yes could that be the problem with frame drops?
That hides everything not on the WCS server. Take off that mod and you will have more in your arsenals etc.
Frame drops is likely just poorly optimised mods. Not much can be done from an end user perspective for that.
Gotcha we’ve had an issue with it since the first. Standing around fine but as soon as AI/player percentage went to 30% frame drops even in GM or far away from and when you would look at them it would just tank frames even more
I would look at the modlist and then go through the mods one by one and see if they have LOD meshes etc and if they have massive poly meshes. All of those things will tank frames.
Like prop mods or effects mods sorry not very skilled in code stuff
Anything with 3d models, ai mods can also tank if too much is spawned etc.
Its a different ballgame in MP etc.
Gotcha yeah the only thing we had down at one point were the boxes, & the “character” budget was 30% tanked frames

I do have a lot of mods active but even when I ran it with very few mods it still wouldn’t work unless I specifically only have the operator weapon pack, everything arsenal and bacon loadout editor. I have tried to get it to work with WCS weapons, caps weapon pack/ CDD and GRS, most of the weapons that rely on bacon suppressors (m110, m17 and that sort of stuff) and a few other mods that I can’t remember off the top of my head
I accidentally got it to work one time when it was the only weapon pack active but seems like almost any other weapon mod will make it disappear
The operator stuff hides in the fia arsenal
Not sure if this is the same creator as the Modular vest pack that uses the DarkGru clothes, but Is there a fix to restore the inventory for the AI? They spawn with 1 mag and no medical equipment either. I can use the Zeliks characters with the clothes and it’s fine, but the vest mod removes items.
It was originally from a DarkGru dev but he left and branded the pack away from us. I’m unsure if there is any future plans on the pack
