i'm trying to configurate it with me g36 and only works with your custom sound of the m4
when you add the mod as dependency you need to do two things:
-
add this component to the weapon: BaconSuppressors_WeaponSuppressionComponent
this takes care of the AI detection functionality, turning on/off the muzzle flash -
now you will have a new signal in the sound editor in your gun called "weapon_suppressed" 0 or 1, it will change based on whether suppressor is attached
that way you can implement any sound changes to your weapon
drop the Suppresssed.sig signal file into your audio editor and it will have two outputs, "suppressed" 0 - 1 and "suppressed_volsub" 1 - 0 (it will go toward 0 the further away you are, so you can use this output to decrease volume of any sounds you want)
it should appear on the weaponsoundcomponent?
the signals are managed inside the audio editor for your weapon fire acp
if you open the m4 Shot3 acp file you will see how I used the signal
I don't add any new sounds, just filters and equalizers, but you can use the signal to add new sounds if you want
basically I used the value of suppressed signal to "turn on" and "turn off" my filters, and I used the _volsub signal to decrease volume of some sounds based on distance
I need to watch the signal tutorial, not sure where to attach the suppressor signal

alternatively you can copy and paste the entire m4 acp into your mod (duplicate) and just change the samples to the gun fire sound you want
but once you get an understanding on how the audio editor stuff works it's really fun to mess with it
yeah, i messed up a bit a month ago with a barret, but only edited the 12'7 sound to get it close to the barret sound, not added anything new xD
I'll try with this, need to add the suppressor to a g28 and a mg4 too
all 4 of my guns don't add any new sounds
just filters and equalizers, some sample changes etc (to sounds already in the game)

I've seen a video where the pop was audible from like 500 meters away, so I'm capping it to 100 in the mod
I think 500, although realistic, is bad for gameplay
so 100 it is
as in, by 100 meters it will be inaudible

I think the new update for the gun is causing issues for a few of my buds trying to join a server, we don’t have the new update on the server but when they try to use the old version it doesn’t let them in
you'll need to be more precise, what specifically is the problem? also always make sure to run latest versions
latest version of block2 is 1.0.21 I think, suppressors 1.0.2
Could just be there workshop but it won’t let them download to
we modders have zero control over any of the update and download functionality in the game

you can try deleting the mods and then downloading them, worked for me

@solemn flame I think your suppressor system is stopping my server from popping up on the server list I remove it and it pops up on the server list
Ran fine last night and RIS block II and suppressor system is what I narrowed it down to on the server
there are many servers running fine with it
can you share some logs, error messages, anything?

So the server is not crashing at all but when it’s in the mod list the server will not show up on the server list in game @solemn flame

It honestly could just be the mods and servers. Have had multiple problems in the past on our server with game master fx and the Blackhawk. Where running those two mods at times would cause the server to not start at all.
those two mods do not conflict - if there is a problem with a mod of mine please provide logs that indicate that this mod is a problem so that I can fix it
Yes well aware bacon. Wasn’t directing it at you. Sorry about the confusion. Was trying to explain that it’s a thing that happens with different servers and mods. And it’s usually a random occurrence that happens to servers.
it's never random
if the server is failing to start after a mod is updated it could be having trouble updating a mod
but you will see the reason in the logs
I’m still pretty new to learning any of this. Stuff. Especially about server logs and stuff.
(OLD NEWS) I know it’s not relevant to to the present. But this was a problem we were having a few weeks ago with game master FX. The server would refuse to start with game master fx in mod list. This was before .9.7. But eventually we just took it off. And the server would start. It happens to our server from time to time.
Would these be the logs you are talking about bacon? And is this the server telling me the problems it’s having? Again I’m relatively new to figuring the logs out.
I imagine you have more mods added to the server than just this one? It's possible that the server just can't download it or can't update it
do you have access to the addons folder on your server in your admin panel?

I've noticed it most often happens when something needs to be updated, and it looks very similar to the update problems we have when updating mods in our games (stuck at 0%)
so following this train of thought you could delete folder of the mod and just have it download from scratch again
I actually always wipe all mod folders on some of my servers when they start and they never run into this
but other servers where this is not possible do run into this
So correct me if my wrong. But let’s say you delete the folder from the sever config. Wouldn’t that cause the server to just bypass that mod and not install it at all?
if you remove the mod from config it will ignore the mod but it will not remove the data - so next time you add it and it needs an update you get the same thing
you know, assuming that the updates are broken still/again

And yes I know. It happens every update for sometimes every modder. I feel bad for you guys. Having to go back and fix things every time the game gets updated. I envy you guys. Especially the ones doing modding in their free time for fun.
But unfortunately it’s what happens with something that is early access.

Yeah that is true. Never looked at it that way. But it does suck that you guys get flak and sometimes people down voting mods. Because 99.99% of the time. It’s never your guys fault that a mod is broken.

Agreed and I’m not blaming you, the issue was though, isn’t that the server was crashing though it was running with or without mod but would not appear on the server list
I switched my host from Miami to ny back to Miami and that seemed to fix it as far as I could tell so it could have just been a nitrado thing but it was weird it was only doing it when I had the block II with dependencies
I update my mods rather often compared to some other mods, so naturally everyone's seeing this pop up more often
that being said, you need to look at the log, if server is not progressing at addon download stage then it's never the mod that's at fault
simply because we do not control how the mods are downloaded and updated
Ok thank you for clearing that up like I said I switched server locations and that seemed to fix it last night so it was on nitrados end
it probably reinstalled the server so the mods were wiped and downloaded again
Dosnt restarting the server or shutting down the server do that though?

1.0.39 doesn't even exist on my workshop so not sure if that's why its broken

I believe it's just going to be workshop issues like you said earlier.
My workshop was showing 1.0.38 as latest until I deleted it and then suddenly 1.0.39 is the latest

I have absolutely zero control over anything related to downloading and updating anything from workshop, so I can't do anything about it

until it's patched you'll have to delete the mod and download it again
