AI in reforger doesn't do visibility checks against grass
Well, that's a pity... We must be more specific with "grass" : is it true only for procedural generated grass ? If this is the case, we need this to be implemented ? Any idea ?
AI does visibility checks against geometry, the grass you get from your surface material doesn't apply
Any way, that wasn't my initial goal, but it sucks
all trees, bushes etc have geometry

you can probably cheat your way around this by making a trigger over your tall grass that alters AI perception against whatever enters and leaves it
or add some geometry in your field that mimics bushes
it doesn't need to have a visible model
The second solution seems far better
But it's really annoying in a general way : players will try to hide inside wheat fields... And AI will do for sure !

no way around it outside making your grass actual ingame entities but then they never disappear
Ouch, performances would be heavily affected
You can check what AI sees with one of the tools in the "Diag Menu" (Ctrl+Windows key / Alt+ windows key).
Enfusion engine has solved something insane, the long distance shadows and the shading is so good.
But the grass is still unsolved, I feel like the vanilla grass is bad in terms of looks and performance. It's such a hard problem ๐
