All jokes aside, RTOs within your unit can make your units life a whole lot easier. They are masters of communication, knowing chain of command and commos like the back of their hand. They take the excess stress off of your CO whether it be platoon, company, battalion, so on and so forth. They divide up the communications aspect from your CO so they can focus on the tactical application. A good RTO will make a happy CO 💯

Modern western helos can do it with specific stuff such as Longbow radar and Hellfire missiles but not with hydra rockets. Regardless I was referring to hovering over a position and opening up with a door gun like in the video which hasn't been viable (against well armed opponents) since like the '70s.

You'd be surprised how effective it works in Conflict. If you have decent cooperation between the pilot and the gunner, you can be a real serious pest.
Even on this server, which has MANPADs, you've still got about 8 salvos of flares to pop before you need to RTB. In that clip, I was teaching my friend to fly, and he didn't know how to pop flares unfortunately.

We've tried with the Mi8 as well though and that's definitely a situation where the Huey succeeds in that role significantly more. Easier to point out targets to your gunner, but now you have concentrated fire entering the cockpit.

Regardless, very excited to try this out with my little crew once we have actual rocket pods. Rockets for the harder targets, gunners for the softer ones.
