So having a small, concealable handgun you can conceal into a situation to attack someone by surprise would be dangerous. If you are talking overall "fire power"... you can buy semi automatic versions belt fed firearms like the M249 SAW, the M1919, and even the M2 Browning .50cal. So maybe the latter would answer your questions. Those are all weapons that if you walked into a gun store and they had them in stock, you could have the criminal background check done on you, pay for them and walk out with them.
