Oh boy
Any chance you can give a quick TL;DR? @random mist
hold on
this has a summary
or in short
it makes all guns need to be registered and that list is open to the public
new gun taxes on every firearm
a shitload of new bans on weapons and ammo types
a bunch of new licences on all weapons and some other shit
with most of those offenses having a minimum penalty of 10-30 years in jail
or 50,000$+ in bail
oh god
also for some reason you have to have a seperate license to own antique guns XD

yea its stupid
if I remember if it passes you have like 3 months before you can be charged to get ALL of them
that you need
XD
that just sounds like a money making machine for the government
yea
since there's no way that all guns could even be registered in 3 months
like 800$ for each XD
searchable by general public? what the? nothing can go wrong...
"hmm lets see if billy boy has a gun... nah he doesnt, great, lets pay him a visit tonight"
or figure out if the old person 3 streets over has any guns to yoink
or figure out which house has the best registered guns to steal
imagine being the only one without gun in a neighbourhood... suddenly you have a giant target on the back and have to buy guns, to not seem undefended.
that law is in direct violation of their constitution technically
you say that like the politicians care
whenever the politicians are out at play i just get some popcorn and sit down to see what wacky stuff they come up with this time
gun laws and legislations tend to be funky
Is that the sa80 a2? (la85 a2)?
It's a photoshopped L85A1
if you want non bullpup L85 - its AR18 😛

genuinely never understood why people like bullpups
It has the big benefit that you can have a longer barrel without having a longer rifle, since the magazine (and therefor the bolt carrier) is further back.
The major downside is that reloading the weapon is different from "normal" rifles, which a lot of people dislike.
For the ones trained in use of bullpups like in the military or smth there is not much difference in reload speed or necessarily comfort (from conventional designs), but for ppl who just buy a bullpup cuz they want to and are used to more conventional designs there will be a large difference
they look cool
like bullpup shotguns or the AUG
ehh where does this barrel length come in handy
330mm barrel
368mm barrel
It's it extra barrel length
It's the same or similar length
At a vastly smaller formfactor
@glossy mirage
that "sounds totally reasonable" was sarcastic
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
sorry then

more guns , less spam/bs

NGL, that handguard is kinda handsome
What is that stance. Not only gripping the mag, but supporting the gun's weight on it?
My fav weapon but i havent even had a go with the akm (ak47 modern version) yet on arma 3
the FN fal
is good aswell
of course not 😛
akm is still a 1950s weapon
akm just looks refurbished and a different muzzle
there is more than "just"
im talking about my perspective
also the type 56 its a Vietnamese modified version used in the vietnam war. You can also get ak47 with a folding stock or no stock. It also has the vietnamese type bayonet at the bottom. If you play RS2 you can test the weapon out
I reccomend getting the game it is very tactical and is a bit like arma 3 but vietnam war
In this video I explain what is the best AK47 in rising storm 2 Vietnam according to my opinion
Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is a tactical first-person shooter video game developed by Antimatter Games and Tripwire Interactive and is co-published by Tripwire Interactive and Iceberg Interactive. It is a direct sequel to 2013's Rising Storm and is set ...
thats chinese made AK - not vietnam modified
ah hell no
i mean asian
Cheap quality weapons...
Not as good as the totally not stamped metal, and mass produced m16
looks like a target shooter's stance, which works for a few amount of shots without any exterior stress so i bet this guy is either gonna change his grip or just posing 🙂
I know, I was joking man.

I also feel like I've seen this in a TV series a couple months ago
i think i read somewhere this was at a weapon expo, and that was like a mockup
so in other words, its not a real thing
its a, hey, this would be cool
I assume like the early talos concepts that weren't actually a thing
just strapped a bunch of gear together
mmm, and TALOS program concluded full body exosuit isn't feasable atm
last year i guess
but maybe a lower body one could be
'removed before combat'
lol
I remember looking into small turbine engines and there being work being done a few years ago to develop them for military
I wonder if that was related
I think we all would love to see a starcraft like powersuit with turbines and hydrogen powerpacks lol
Thats the nee Sotnik armor that will be given to all russian Soldiers in near future. Thats what i know.
So thats no mockup. That is their future Equipment.
"Today we have started the first stage of development – the definition of tactical and technical requirements."
literally a quote
TALOS mockups were part of a US Exosuit program...that they constantly thought they'd have legit prototypes out...like every year until they indicated it was unfeasable last year
they defined requirements, had mockups
thats a mockup, they said they are defining tactical and technical requirements
that means none of it exists yet
they are likely all seperate things sure
mmmm, what they do have is something they call Ratnik
Sotnik doesn't exist, Ratnik does, and sotnik is what they are going to make based off it
now I want to more know more about ratnik, which has 7.62mm protection
ehhh, apparently its just a gear set
so a bunch of armor, backpack, hearing protection
so yea, sotnik is just a bunch of experimental stuff like TALOS stuff was as far as I can see.
I can't find a lot of information on the russian 'stormer' exosuit that it is all based on
the US exosuit program is basically a slowburn now in development, where TALOS they wanted to get something out the door within a few years
I imagine IVAS is going to go into whatever SOCOM/Army calls the next program, along with NGSW rifle, ammo, and scope
all the top defence contractors are all showing off exosuit developments too
I would assume TALOS might have been canceled in favor of a new program later on that uses those programs that are in development, and whatever the major defence contractors have cooking up in the background exosuit wise. delaying the program until those things mature
A new exoskeleton was unveiled by a Rostec subsidiary, TsNIITochMash design bureau, during the 'Army 2018' International Military-Technical Forum.

russia does some of the unpowered exosuit stuff in combat deployments....on a small scale
so as far as I can see, everyone is still in the pretty early stages of development for powered exoskeletons with armor/integrated systems. All experimental, unworthy for field tests for years still.
Ratnik-3 is supposed to be the first legit usage.....but like TALOS was expected to be pretty fast startup and go.....I wonder how well russia's attempt will be
I see anywhere from 2022 deployment, to 2025
so maybe by 2030, SF will have this type of thing equipped lol
2025-2030
Full body heatstroke speed run any%
Sotnik exists and will not need much more time for release. You can just google it. The exosuit thing is the only unfinished Part.
And that is not a last year mockup. It was official shown and teased like a week ago.
the exosuit is the key to the whole .50 cal resistance
without being turned to mush
your body certainly can't absorb the shock, and noone has armor light enough to carry that can distribute it enough to survive
they can stop it, but the energy still turns you to mush without penetration
otherwise its literally just their regular kit with a hud
The fact is we dont know that. And they said that the version without exosuit can protect the soldier of .50 cal shots. We will see in the future. In the Presentation they only showed the non exosuit version (you can find videos on youtube) and what its able to achieve. I cant believe it too and i think its only a marketing thing.

I kind of wonder about the viability of heavy infantry armor without an exoskeleton in modern warfare?
like, a lot of the meta is in moving fast, repositioning, and flanking maneuvers isn't it
and in heavy armor that is going to be compromised
you kind of unload as mechanized infantry and hold positions i'd imagine
which I can only assume opens you up to getting wiped out by artillery and air support
well you should ask that in #military_materials
I recall seeing some photo on reddit of an exoskeleton like that on russian soldiers, but with body armor that would supposedly stop a bullet from a .50 cal with no injuries to the wearer.
ngl pretty sure they were going for protecting the exoskeleton instead of the soldier wearing it lmao
This is all you need to be protected. Superior Wakanda armour.
yeah... those motorcycle helmets will protect you from .50 cal 🤣
I mean to be fair, test have proven even something as basic as a motorcycle helmet face shield reduces blast injuries. 😛

CZG – Česká zbrojovka Group SE (“CZG” or “the Group”) hereby informs that on 11 February 2021, it signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of the outstanding equity interest in Colt Holding Company LLC (“Colt”), the parent company of U.S. firearms manufacturer, Colt’s Manufacturing Company LLC as well as its Canadian subsidiary, Colt Canada...
wwaaaaaat
So there is a confusing chain of Colt companies
because it spun itself into different parts
and they seem to have spun off, then the spinoff bought them.....and I'm confused
Colt Defence LLC is the part that does defence, law enforcement, and security
then there is New Colt Holding Corp.......and Colt's Manufacturing Company, LLC
soo.....they bought Colt Holding Company, LLC.....which I think owns Colt's Manufacturing Company, LLC.....but I think Colt Defence LCC owned Colt Holding Company.....soo they bought the civilian part of Colt......maybe
So only the civilian Colt stuff was bought afaik, the Military Colt stuff is a separate company that wasn't bought.
Colt's Manufacturing Company spun off Colt Defence in 2002, then Colt Defence bought Colt Holding Company (which owns Colt's manufacturing Company) in 2013
then Colt Defence Company declared bankrupcy in 2015
from what i read they bought whole Colt and that counts also Colt Canada
colt canada was owned by Colt's Manufacturing company
TFB reported that CZ were in negotiations to acquire Colt, a story that has now developed with an official statement. CZG and Colt Holding Company LLC have signed an agreement. The combined group will have revenues in excess of USD 500 million per year, and CZ's production capacity will get a significant reinforcement.
none of them say anything about buying Colt Defence, which is owner of Colt Holding Company, which owns both of the others
it says they are buying Colt Holding Company, which owns the canadian colt and colts manufacturing
unless i'm reading the chain of companies wrong
so I kind of wonder who owns what in that chain of colt companies
and what exactly CZ is getting
is colt defence and new colt holding the same company now?
hell god knows , Colt had multiple bankrupts so its a mess
mmm, new colt holding corporation owns all the trademarks. Colt Defence LLC ended itself i think in 2016?
yea, its a hideous mess
so i guess they did buy everything
Gotta love the mini spike. Pity how it works is classified still.
And you can carry the launcher and 2 spare missiles.
wasnt that project cancelled?

The G11 nearly being adopted, until suddenly the wall falls and the Bundeswehr suddenly has to supply two armies' worth of rifles instead of just the one?
Aaah oki
Does anyone know a waterproof radio thats good for airsoft?
Most people i know use Midland Radios. I think most of them are waterproof.
I’ve used a baofeng for sar... worked great in all conditions until the fcc changed the regs. You might be able to find a few still out there @covert bear
Problem with Boafeng is that it's not allowed in a lot of countries without a radio license.
But most PMR radio's are waterproof, at least the more serious ones like Midland and Motorola
Well I’m looking for a vhf so i will need the licence anyway but im mostly looking for a radio that i can use for both airsoft and sailing (would want to be properly waterproof, not just splash resistant)
There are "jackets" for baofeng to make them shockproof and somewhat water resistant
also baofengs are like the AR500 of comms
also a radio for airsoft and for sailing is a little much to ask from what I assume you want out of a handheld radio
im no maritime specalist but I dont think a handheld radio would work for you for sailing, arent there special radios built for ships n stuff?
For inland water usage you can use any radio as long as it's able to send/receive the required frequencies. Although depends on the country and type of boat license you have.
My parents also have a Boafeng on their boat because it's a lot cheaper than the build in ones, and can be removed when they go on land somewhere.
Baofengs are good for purely civillian use, just like AR500... Well not really but I mistook him as wanting to find a more tactical per say radio
And baofengs well... Are as useful for any serious application as you may expect, so a baofeng is an okay choice if you want to get into amateur ham but I wouldnt rely on it too much
So great for airsoft (when allowed) and as a starter for multiple uses
Both airsoft and amateur watersports don't need heavy duty professional equipment

Most baofengs are banned now due to the p2 (I think that’s what it’s called) regulation over what frequencies it can receive and send on...
Are any still around for sale?
of course; because it's still a legal radio if you have a radio license
Fascinating...
just expect it to be taken from you in return for a big fine when you have one without a license 😉
Well good thing I lost mine in an unfortunate training accident..
It broke during an exercise so no loss..
and it really depends on the local laws, in some countries it's still fine to own one (as long as you don't mess with the frequencies)
I think the fcc thing is nationwide
eh I mean the baofeng UV-5R is... uhh
That’s the one I had
yeah, but FCC has nothing to say in Europe 😉
Yeah but I’m not trained for stuff in Europe
Nor do I have the money for round trips
I've been meaning to get a radio, I should props look into the german laws at some point
If you’re in germany: yes
Germany doesn't allow it (already checked 😉 )
of course PMR radios are completely legal
I mean, my radio HAD (don’t have it anymore) the capabilities to access some federal frequencies
PMR radios?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PMR446
Which only allow you to use certain free frequencies
Ah oki
For example; car radios would be pmr radios
uhm... no... a car radio can only receive...
PMR is about on which frequencies you're allowed to send
Which is only within the 446MHz range
Oh shoot yeah never mind.
https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2021/02/24/media-drama-over-msbs-grot-assault-rifle-causes-national-security-concerns-in-poland/ - it seems classic Polish QC wins again
Most you can program to be unable to send on frequencies that you're not allowed to send on, or with power you're not allowed to use.
If you can proove that you literally cannot possibly use that radio illegally without effort to edit its programming on a PC, even though its technically able to then it shouldn't be a problem.
Driving a car being able to do 280km/h is also not illegal, unless you drive over the speedlimit.
I mean, the radios are now banned because they could access federal frequencies which was great because that’s what was used for communication. However, not everyone should have the power to use that so it’s banned now...
Driving a car being able to do 280km/h is also not illegal, unless you drive over the speedlimit.
For me it is, because I don't have a drivers license, no matter how fast or slow the car can drive.
And I'm also not allowed to own a gun, even if I don't plan to shoot with it...
But as I said; laws and regulations depend on the country.
Depends. If you have a big property you could also Drive 280 km/h

Anyone smarter then me able to explain how weapons like the aai acr where able to function?
3 round burst before the recoil from the first round hit. Like how on earth can you delay physics.
Doesn't seem to be any public images of how the AAI rifle's mechanism worked but there's speculation that it had a rotating chamber that held three rounds since that was a feature on some of the previous flechette rifles they did.
Recoil reduction would be by having the muzzle device it had, and probably some delayed blowback mechanism where the three chambers rotated into battery to load the salvo of three rounds as the carrier group moved back freely on rollers or a lever
In this episode Vic takes a look at the AAI Corporation's entry into the US Army's Advanced Combat Rifle Program. This is part of our series on the ACR rifles, be sure to check out the videos on the others.
The AAI ACR was one of four entries that took part in US military trials during the late 1980s to find a technologically advanced replaceme...
Great video, however I still fail to understand how it defies physics with the “delayed blowback mechanism”
Google says the brake/compensator, and firing 21 grain projectile assemblies
that's it.
You can see how the G11 worked, it doesn't defy physics, it takes advantage of them:
So the entire gun mechanism moves back per shot delivering the kick of all 3 rounds at one?
yes
The recoil in the three-round burst is not felt by the weapon's user until after the third round has left the chamber. This is accomplished by having the barrel and feeding mechanism "float" within the rifle casing. When the rounds are fired, the barrel, magazine, chamber and operating mechanism recoils back against recoil springs several inches. Only when it strikes the buffer at the back of the rifle does the user feel the recoil. During the rearward travel of the internal mechanism the rifle loads and fires 3 rounds.
it's not perfect, this is dispersion at 50 m, standing position, silhouette for scale (my addition)
That’s great except I have 0 clue how the standard dispersal pattern would look due to that being an unconnected image. It would be nice if they where connect
Sounds like a painful process to create... I can see why it’s so rarely used

does the Russian Military actually use the Z-11W? The helicopter.
Random question. How come machine guns dont use multiple barrels, like, pro cons?
(Ping me if you respond),
Requires an external power source to rotate the barrels
that can be done by gas from firing the weapon depending on design it can cock and load it too, but the problem is that it would be too big and cumbersome for any regular soldier and it would also be very expensive due to how hard it is to machine the parts necessary
you also have the problem of keeping the barrels locked in while firing so as to not misfeed, misfire, or not load at all.
Huh. Ok
alternatively you could just as easily line the inside of a 4140 or 4150 steel barrel with tungsten (for any other conventional MG)
for better thermal properties
it all depends on what you need the weapon for
I was thinking why people didn't use it for suppressing for extended periods. Because one barrel would be cooling while the other one fired?
Yes but the problem with that is gunk, carbon and powder remains building up in the action, weight/portability, and also comfortable shooting, there is a reason why mg teams carry with them spare barrels and shoot in short bursts that extend the barrel life and preserves ammo
Ok
Usually the mg’s we have now is more than capable of doing their task, however weight and recoil is still an issue
I see.
Also. One other question
Yea go ahead
Why do people not use Caseless ammunition
@rocky mortar Little out of my field there but ok:) one of the reasons why is 1. polymer "cases" have not been reliable enough to withstand the conditions prior to firing 2. the ones using the propellant charge as a "case" have been prone to accidental detonation as a cause of heat and sparks (natural) and the barrel heat after firing a couple of rounds 3. a lot of systems using truly caseless ammunition have been too big/bulky, complex and or expensive to make (google g11) 4. problems with sealing and fragility of the ammunition have caused a lot of problems 5. the conventional ammunition with brass or steel cases, where the brass or steel case also is a part of the thing that keeps the pressure and in some cases heat from the explosion contained so that your gun does not turn into a very complicated grenade. 6 gp-25 and ags-40 uses caseless ammunition, however these dont produce nearly as much heat and pressure as a regular rifle round. 7. there are also gyrojets where the round is essentially a self contained rocket in the form of a bullet. 8. the americans are in the late testing and possible adoption phases of some rifles using caseless ammunition (like the textron bid) but as revealed these rifles are much more complicated than your typical ar and there is skepticism to whether or not the rifle is reliable, same goes for the ammunition. I myself have also tried coming up with some designs for caseless or telescoped ammunition and weapons using these but nothing i can make or test in the next half a decade or so
There are also very few designs that makes caseless ammunition and weapons that use them any better than current arms, this means that weight is really the only pro here
The initial startup cost for making such arms and ammunition also far outweighs those of continuing with current ammo and weapons and starting production of the latter
There is also 2 stage caseless ammunition used by tanks and artillery but those are too complex to be made into a handheld rifle or mg
I highly advise you to read up on the U.S. Army's Lightweight Small Arms Technologies (LSAT) program
As that will teach you more than i can avout this subject
I hope this answers your question somewhat
I've also heard that guns using caseless ammo heat up much faster than conventional. Sound plausible, as ejected casings are very hot and maybe are acting as heatsink of sorts. But I never researched if that's real issue of imaginary one.
yea
it is what happens in most cases
the Germans actually use that, the MG3 has a swappable barrell, after a certain amount of shots fired you swap the barrell for a new one and let the hot one cooldown
2 things here:
- SAS uses a triple barrel machinegun, but its basically just 3 MGs with 1 trigger (at least i have seen some, not sure if they are still in service)
- Gatling guns exist and are way more reliable for high rate of fire and also are super easy in their functionality

Are there Poles here?
Military, Police, Intelligence, something like that?
I heard French SF say that the GROM is « shit ».
I demand redress !
sorry to say but most polish guns are well crap
and the new guns arent that good either
dont they use beryls and AKMs?
arent the french sf part time cops?
it's a complicated thing here
some units are part cop and military (gendarmerie) so I think you're referring to GIGN which is gendarmerie's sf
and there are also sf among cops (Raid) and special cop units (BRI, etc)
This thing has a 5-1/2 inch barrel
13,5 cm, yes
and it is 31.5 cm long with folded stock
And it has a flash hider integrated in it

I wish the US had developed this gun further. A machine gun firing BRG-15 15.5x106mm ammunition. For when a .50 caliber is just too small, you can shoot through a church. https://i.ibb.co/MsDP3Jp/1618700509384-1.jpg

yes it was still a thing right before the WW2

all jokes aside
id love to see a 1918s gun designer see what we have made today
caseless ammunition, damn railguns
So, am I the only one that wishes we had more sidearms in arma 3?
not really
theres ALOT of firearm mods
and you dont really use sidearms in arma that much
Thing is, sidearms aren't very important in actual military operations so it's not really worth working in a bunch of tiny guns that just don't work as well as an extra magazine of 5.56 would.
For example the deltas still use 1911s when 45 doesn't really make much difference from 9mm to the guy who's just gotten a new hole in him. Instead those 1911s are basically like a hip mounted mascot that can shoot bullets.
I have a bunch of tacticool pistol mods myself though. If I one day ran some kind of MGS4 inspired campaign, I'd add those to the mix in a heartbeat.
i just like a good backup for my LMG or sniper
Fair enough. That's when you use a pistol... And your radio which will let you tell off your squadmates for failing to secure the perimeter.
im usually on a 2 man team sometimes 3 when my buddies laptop allows him to play and usually 1 has a DMR and the other a LMG or 100 round mags for an MX if were far from the rest of our side
depends on if we take a vehicle we'll load it with as much extra ammo and an AR for each as well as a titan
I always carry a pistol with me (in Arma that is), and it saved my life more times than I can count (more than 3).
Eh yeah I mean when your door kicking then sure I'd understand since its way easier to aim with a pistol but like generally it's just a waste of space that slows you down
I can see the appeal in a KOTH type scenario where you're fighting in for example Kavala but 200 meters and out you're way better off with an extra rifle magazine or two instead, yeah.
Well in unit play, you really don't use it that much
Unless you have a speciality role or something that means your useless in doors then I don't what else
Switching to your sidearm is faster than reloading. So in a CQB situation with multiple enemies it's always a good idea to hotkey the switch button.
Of course... Public's prefer to sit on a hill shooting RPG's into a town, rather than going in and clear it properly.
Are you kicking in doors before you check your ammo?
only takes two shots usually to kill a guy
I admit, sometimes I spray away before I've lined up my shots properly if the guy I'm shooting at is already looking at me.
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to see. The receiver seems a little too short and the carry handle doesn't line up with the front sight, let alone having irons and an eotech on at the same time... Wait, the back plate on the buttstock seems kinda skewed too. But all of those are nitpicks...
^
Also, dust cover too small to let a round go through the ejection port
Actually it might work
nice barrel. What is it, a .22 LR rifle?
anyone see the new 👀 binary triger for the ruger 10/22
Ruger now carry’s the binary trigger themselves no aftermarket parts
brave
Binary meaning the trigger has two functions, right?
When you pull the trigger your shoot a bullet and when you tralease you shoot another
Hey everyone. Bit of a newbie to the community part of Arma but been playing the game since Operation Arrowhead. Here is something I made to sum up my attitude toward weapon debates in one image
Sounds a little bad tbh
hows it bad?
I dunno, sounds like kind of a recipe for NDs
well
the gun doesnt fire unless you pull the trigger
so yknow, just because every squeeze isnt a single round, doesnt make it more susceptible to NDs
What I'm feeling is eventually some guy is gonna decide to say "I think I'm done at the range for today, guess I'll just hold the trigger until- hey John, how's things?"
Well he holds the trigger, its not gonna keep firing
Remember it only fires on two actions
As long as he keeps holding the trigger, yeah.
No that would be fully automatic, not binary
I think you missed the part where I implicitly said there's a risk someone could just forget to hold down the trigger and thus fire negligently.
I mean iirc most binary triggers come with a fire selector, so really unless your a moron or whoever handed you the firearm is a moron, then you really shouldnt be doing any NDs
but even then
its a ND, they happen even when they shouldnt.... but what do you mean hold down the trigger?
ever heard of an early sten gun with a poor bolt-catch
practically the same thing
Also, norwegian revolver for pistol trials, we adopted the 1911
Huh, nice idea on paper. Revolver reliability and pistol magazine size. Was it a good gun?
One can only imagine how many reliability issues it really had...
Wait, it only held 6 in magazine + 2 in cylinder. What was the point of complicating it so much if it only had 8 round available?
It could be reloaded a bit faster, I guess
considering they adopted the 1911 over this
nah
too complicated and prone to jamming
Any person properly trained would not ND thus holding down the trigger only fires one round

points for flagging himself and his cameraman
when you add complexities such as a magazine. the whole idea of "revolver reliability" kind of goes out the window.

Here's my Ruger 10/22
You m1 carbined your ruger 10/22...
Well, can’t say you did a bad job
Thanks lol. The sights that came with the kit are amazing. Even with open sights, the thing is a tack driver. I was able to consistently hit about a 2 inch group up to 200 meters
Which id say is good for a .22
That is definetly good for a .22
Not so much a myth today as some clarity on one of life's big unanswered questions. If you've assembled an AR-15 with components in Flat Dark Earth (FDE), you've probably wondered, "Will the true FDE please stand up?" That's because there are a lot of variations in Flat Dark Earth. Why can't manufacturers agree on ONE shade of FDE instead of 50?...
See. Everyone is afraid to admit that OD is the true tactical color

ohhh ofc forgot alot of europe allows airsoft.
Now that I think about it Australia, China and now sorta Canada are the only countries to have banned airsoft

anyways mate I'm gonna hit the hay (go to sleep)

We don't have any restrictions on airsoft guns in the states. Only have to have an orange muzzle
Honestly I find the orange tip thing pretty silly. For example an orange tip or no orange tip wouldn't make a difference to a policeman if you're out on the street with your toy.
AFAIK the only time airsoft gun are mentioned in Norwegian law is grouping them in with deactivated rifles as objects that are to be treated exactly like real rifles in criminal law, meaning that for example having an airsoft gun with you while you're robbing a bank makes it count as armed robbery even though you weren't actually armed. Police and bystanders are affected about as much by real or fake guns in practice.
That's not even a requirement.
And yeah, If someone points a gun looking thing at me in a serious context, I'm going to light their ass up regardless of what color the muzzle is. Nothing stops anyone from painting the muzzle of a gun orange. And criminals are known to do this sometimes.
It depends on your state. NY requires airsoft rifles to have a brightly colored muzzle to distinguish them from a real firearm. Its stupid but it is what it is. Ive seen video of a thief robbing a store with a fake gun he painted. One of the people in the store was a security guard for his company and had a gun on him. He shot the thief behind the counter and when he came around the corner the thief dropped the toy and put his hands up saying "wait wait! Its a fake gun!". Security guard proceeded to aim at the guy and goes "oh well. mine's real!"
Yeah I guess it could vary state to state.
here in OR I've seen bb and airsoft guns sold with no orange tips
Yep. I feel orange tips would just make people confused.
They are counted as real firarms minus the need of a licence or registering the guns and parts
And according to the law should be treated as real firearms and handled accordingly
the F2000 is not used by many countries
only 3 countries in NATO use it
and poland only uses it as the GROM weapon
and belgium as SF weapon
than we have the slovenian army having it as a standard issue
The FN2000 uses stanags. Correct?
Ye
The main reason I feel it isn't used is because its Bullpup. Which have a bad reputation considering the original L85 was LOATHED by British troops. Most designs also have severe reliability issues. Though to be honest, im a bit of a fan of for the IMI Tavor rifle
Its a FN F2000 and yes
faaaancy
its cool but the name is so stupid
why its not just FN UMG or FN ULMG
upside down Scar that uses that worst stock 😛
Guys, can anyone else confirm with me that this is a Kirov Class Battlecruiser?
fyi @warm grail ^ @plucky granite
Got my sight (and sling+bipod) on the gun now
oop make that up arrow a below arrow
"Acog"
whats wrong with "acog"
well nothing wrong with "acog" but thats not a actual acog 😛
obviously, idk who would dump $1k on a real optic for a fake gun....
Its AcOg
eh im sure theres people who use genuine NVGs for airsoft
not saying its wrong, but why bipod backwards and not as far forward as possible?
-slowly raises hand-
why
cause I got them for IRL use, and with sacrificial windows I dont worry about them getting popped
same reason i run my real plates for airsoft, its a great workout
i also did get a GREAT deal on them, and I use them for star gazing, hiking, hunting
I just dunno what way around is the right way to put on the bipod
out of curiosity what plates are you rockin
the RMA lvl 4s
the 1150s i think? cant remember, theyre from a while ago
is that a actual gun
Airsoft
See ^
Fancy
i also got a matte pmag
wich i find more fancy
also a red dot
of wich screen
went crack
when a bb hit it
still works tho
just its got a crack that splits the dot or well any optic setting in half
Thats why you use a shield
tbh i use irons mostly for airsoft
just bc of the fact that I trashed a cheaper optic in the same way, and then just got used to point shooting
yeah theyre the cheapest plates that I could find that I still trusted
If i had money to burn Id get the lighter weight hescos which are like 4.2 lbs a plate
I was gonna recommend some hescos but if your looking for cheap yet reliable, fair enough
just glue some plexi glass to the front of the optic and youre good
that's why cheap clones and replicas exist 😉
opinion on this turkish shotgun?
I've seen a TON of those flood our gun stores recently. I dont know much about turkish weapons. All I know is they make very hot 8mm Mauser rounds
turkish shotguns are pretty good if they are cheap , you can find most of them on youtube if you are not decided yet

I not like glock.
glocks are great pistols , i dont get the hate all the sudden , it is because they milking their own customers? i hate to break it to you , every company does that when they sell like hot cakes 😉
Glocks have been famous for a while. Fame also brings on scrutiny, for example comparisons between people who put carbine kits and drum mags on their glocks with people who rice their cars.
Honestly though, if I managed to join a pistol club I'd probably like to work my way up to shooting a Delta Elite. Loaded with full house
as much i like 1911s , i still think 1911s are so overrated as Feck nowdays 😛
True. If anything I'd like to have a modernized commander size 1911 as a range toy.
The problem i have with glocks is everyone likes to try and shove the whole "Glocks are superior" thing down my throat. If you have to say they're superior... they probably aren't superior
Do I like glocks? Sure. But they aren't the only handgun company that makes handguns. Id honestly choose a Sig over a glock any day of the week
I cant say much about the 1911 because I'm a fan boy. "mUh StOpPiN pOwEr"
Just like no rifle is perfect
except a Mauser bolt action. Thats pretty darn close to perfection

Does anyone know if the MG-14 project has gone any farther?
I imagine they mean this https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/03/24/twin-barrel-mg14z/
Tactics Group GmbH had the company’s MG14Z at the 2015 IWA Outdoor Classics show earlier this month. The machine gun uses a pair of MG3 receivers with a heavy dose of engineering to ensure the twin barreled gun runs right. The MG14Z is chambered for the 7.62×51 NATO cartridge and can run two different loads at …

is there any soviet sniper rifle which is same like the m24
Not during the soviet era, no
The US didn’t adopt the M24 until nearly the 1990s anyway so the Soviet Union was no more within a couple of years. Some Russian special units used the MTs-116M bolt action rifle in the late 1990s after the Soviet Union, but SVD had been the standard sniper rifle throughout the soviet era
MTs-116M?
The 'MTs-116M is a Russian bolt-action sniper rifle. The weapon system was developed By the Central Design Bureau for Sporting and Hunting Arms (TsKIB SOO) based in Tula. Based on a successful single-shot sporting match rifle, it was developed to serve as a modern precision rifle for law enforcement use. The need for such a rifle arose following...
also you got other hunting rifles that could be used as "sniper" at that time
like Bars or Los
if you want something that is closest to M24 then probably SV-98
SV-98 wasn't around Soviet times though. It was kind of an effort to make a more affordable and more suitable alternative to MTs-116M for the military, and wasn't adopted until the 2000s
obviously yes but thats why i said its closest to M24
Yeah. The Russians aren't as obsessed with long range, precision rifles like the American or similar NATO allies. They rely more on armor and firepower. But yes, I'd say the SV98 is as close as you're going to get because Soviet Russia really had nothing but the Dragunov rifle
There's a greater emphasis on it in the Russian military nowadays, same as there is in NATO. At least in special forces and recon units. Accordingly Russian forces are using the same long-range cartridges that NATO countries use now things have shifted away from 7.62mm for that kind of work - .300WM, .338 Lapua etc. Often the rifles and optics are coming from Europe too, but there are a number of Russian manufacturers doing .338, .408 etc. long-range bolt-action rifles which also see military use
But it's a two-way convergence because more NATO countries are adopting semi-automatic 7.62mm rifles for snipers as a supplement to long-range rifles, and adding designated marksmen to their squads. Effectively doing the same thing the SVD was doing for Russia all these years

What the actual heck
What "discussion" do you want to have on that?
Is that an Unica?

TIL: Beretta's been making pretty much the same gun since the 30s
lol
A lot of ww2 and post-ww2 guns are like that
m2 browning came from m1919 browning I think
FN FAL is made in all sorts of variations by each country.
maybe not a lot, but a few
I mean, Beretta pistols weren't quite "on the map" until the 92 was adopted into the US military as the M9, so the equivalent discovery would be like if FALs turned out to have been made since the 20s or somesuch.
Pretty much, yeah.
oh nice you can suppress any police helicopters you see
thatll be a good cops episode
In rainbow six siege the cz-09 I think is used in a modified weapon for one of the australian operators
cz-09 in a RONI frame, submachine gun

Saiga 12. Nice. I wish Arma 3 had cool guns like that.
who needs Saiga when you have M4A1 pulse rifle with underbarrel shotgun
Nah, I want the Starcraft guns. A C14 guass rifle with 500 round mag, it would take out an Ifrit easily as it is armour piercing.
Does that fucking dude have a black powder AK
Kriss vector chambered in 45acp and klashnikov akm 7.62 x 39 are my 2 favorite guns
What are your favorite pistols ?
Looks like multiple out of battery detonations on a Saiga 12k shotgun
Thinking about it
that's a saiga 12
Because the casings are fucking huge
and red
Automatic Pistol of Styechkin
APS
just a glock 17 but russian
It also has "fun" mode
didn't get it
finally guy that knows ak 47 is a prototype, theres only a akm and 74 modifications like 74m, 102, 103 and etc
47 is not really a prototype just a stamped variation therefore cheaper
Can be used as prototypes especially for experiments but does not make it as such
And each different one like 74 102 103 saiga 12, akm , ai 47 are more different variations not really modifications
In my own thought
For as much as I know
If I’m not please correct me
correct name for "AK47" would be just AK , thats why modernized version is just AKM
had a debate on this a while lmao
AK-47 was the prototype name, then AK when adopted
probably "AK-47" name stuck in West from early reports of the new weapon
bolter muzzle is the equivalent to exhaust extensions in "car tuning"... Suggests 60mm, is actually only 20
The AK-47 was NOT a prototype. It was a full production weapon and the initial design by Mikhail Kalashnikov. The AKM is an upgrade to the AK-47 with better strength and reliability. The only 'prototype' AK was the AN-94 and that wasn't even designed by Mikhail.
The correct name of the AK-47 is AK-47. "Avtomat Kalashnikova 1947".
"AK" is an entire FAMILY of weapons including the AK-47, AKM, AK-74, AK-74M, AK-74N, AKS-74, AKS-74N AKS-74u, as well as the AK-100 and 200 series
Also I stand corrected. Mikhail DID develop a couple prototypes but the AK-47 is NOT one of them
They can..?
I’ve been seeing some cursed pump action rifle abomination thing making its way around, yall know anything about it?
ahh ok. Well regardles.. looks like a fun time. i dont have any ammo for my Mosin
Alpenflage, original OFP resistance camo
OFP?
Operation Flashpoint
ak 47 was most earlier model of ak that was officialy used by army
I think the point they tried to make though is that the name "AK47" was not used by the Russian army though. The first version that was given a GRAU index by the Soviets (56-А-212, adopted in 1949) is simply titled AK (Автомат Калашникова)
There's some videos on Kalashnikov's site that show off early trialled versions before 56-А-212 (AK), that are AK-46, AK-47 and AKS. You can see a few differences between them and the production AK rifles https://100.kalashnikov.media/item/ak-47/ it suggests that "AK-47" was a kind of backronym that was applied to the AK after later version like AKM and AK-74 were developed
Diffrent but the same
A J22 and a IAR93

Both took flight on the same day
Neat. I had to look at them again though. Thought they were early Frogfoot designs lmao

In the us yes like balthy said, in most other "developed" countries, no
Unless its deactivated and even then usually not
any info about this cursed thing
Bulgarian. T-62 turret on a T-34 hull. They were driven to defensive emplacements along the border and dug in

Guys is AK47 an ''automatic'' rifle or an ''assualt'' rifle if there is any difference
the name means automatic rifle
technically it is an assault rifle since it uses intermediate cartridge and has a select fire capacity (semi-auto and automatic)
does anyone know how the PAPOP even reloads?
I think that is a common misconception (not on whether AK is an assault rifle)
But about the name
Actually it is called Avtomat Kalashinikova
Yeah
Named afterv Kalashinikov's wife instead of himself
Yeah
Since in russian females have an a
After the surname
Very common misconception
Yes
I know Russian names
Im polish so i can kind of speak and write russian
But spelling is shit
Like i know how to say avtomat
But write is as automat
Since you say it that way
Are Polish and Russian the same? I think Ukrainian is similar to Russian
Polish doesn't use cyrlic
But some of our and Russian words sound similar
And there's the whole slavic languages thing that just simplifies shit
Uh I know
Interesting
So is Polish in Contact spoken by Livonians accurate
I think Livonia is more like Lithuania in real worls
World
Never played contact but most likely
I heard some of the voice lines and i can perfectly understand them
And livonia itself looks european enough
Interesting
My language is in the game as well
And it is mostly accurate in terms of meaning
Are Polish speakers good at English?
No,i mean we implemented some shit into our language
But probably forgot the meanings
Lockdown etc
I am just asking
I once talked to a Polish boy and seems like his English was decent
I've never heard about it, and it doesn't seem right from the grammatical point of view. It has been about ten years since I last spoke russian, but 'kalashnikova' in AK is genitive case of 'kalashnikov'. IF it was referring to his wife it wouldn't be 'kalashnikova' which is nominative case when referring to female. I think it would be something like... avtomat kalashnikovoy? Oh boy, I forgot most of russian grammar it seems 😄
Interesting arugement!
I will check that out again
The AK-47, officially known as the Avtomat Kalashnikova (Russian: Автома́т Кала́шникова, lit. 'Kalashnikov's automatic rifle'
Okay so you are right👍
Yeah sorry I was not an expert in Russian language
What's the most dangerous weapon can be bought by civilian
Generally Fertiliser (ammonium nitrate) and diesel in most countries, mostly some form of explosives, however some places tanks can be bought with deactivated weaponry, only thing there is to replace it
Always depends on what country and if you go the legal or illegal route
Also, depends on what you mean by dangerous weapon (use and all that)
As they all serve a specific role
the greatest weapon is knowledge but I guess you won't take that as an answer haha, as the lone_archer said, you can divert common supplies to weaponize them, IED in Afghanistan were reportedly made with the UN supplied Fertilizer as a matter of fact
Yea i assumed he wouldn’t take knowledge as an answer
According to some it's the AR-15
And those people also believe it's a semi-fully automatic
Imagine of firearms ramped like paintball guns
yeah no that does not even make the list
Like. You can buy deweaponized F16s
And made for civilian use (read: all the expensive classified radios, guidance and radar). I'm sure civilian grade radios and navigation would have to be installed
Hell you could buy a c130. That's a lot of bags of ammonium nitrate
Imagine if civilians could buy tanks
I'd love to buy one at some point
not me saving 20 000€ for a BTR
I'm personally more interested in something like a bmp1
nice because its tracked, but not as chonky and expensive as an actual tank
Tru
even less chonky than a BMP, a BMD
still, maintenance of a tank. Need garage and a crane or at the very least forklift (if you have a knack for dodgy lifting of heavy objects), if you want to keep it running.
