Wonder if I should buy a cheap laptop too, in case my desktop breaks. I have no regular need for a laptop tho, that'd be the only use-case for it. The phone would cover all travel needs.
Hmm. My phone's 64GB SSD has 20GB free after 4 years of owning it. The Nothing Phone 4a doesn't support memory cards for storage expansion. Warframe Anroid installation supposedly takes 14GB of space, so maybe prepare for 20GB since it seems like gigabyte per years since launch. Maybe I should actually splurge for the 12GB/256GB version?
There is also an 8/256 version, but not in my country at least yet. That might be the most ideal, if the price is right. The 8/256 is 379€, 12/256 is 459€ which is a little too much for my budget.
But anyway, I wonder how much storage space I will need.
The choice would be a lot easier if it had an SD card slot.
"only" 😂
Normally people like us should be perfectly fine with 128GB unless they require lot of offline content e.g. during flights with zero connectivity
Music takes up 15GB on current phone right now. I mainly use mp3s cause fuck spotify.
I wonder if right to repair in EU brings change to that too. Just like with replaceable battery, which existed in the past already, they would have to revert many of their designs to make it "repairable" and at the same time this would improve interchangeability which also results in your ability to replace a lower SSD with a higher SSD provided that your phone supports a lot more
18mm vs 13.9mm
You're not going to find a significantly bigger battery on a phone without it having a bigger chassis :D
Although certain SD cards these days are quiet fast, I would still prefer SSD
SD cards would be a good insurance plan for sufficient storage.
Photos and videos, I mostly move to my desktop to make space.
Yeah aside from price point, microSD form factor is a lot smaller than any consumer-grade SSD
460€ is a lot, but 80€ isn't that much. I've paid more for a shirt.
Speaking of that comparison, my p-shirts still cost me ~100 per unit bc they're made either in England or Italy in my case but I'm afraid my consumer electronics stuff still cost me a lot more in general lol As Jordan pointed out, I'm not price-sensitive 🤣
I've paid 130€ for a really nice hoodie :D
It's mostly that I feel uncomfortable with a 460€ phone in my pocket.
My priority list looks like this:
- Convenience
- Performance
- Lifetime duration
- Services (After Sales, VAS, Warranty, etc.)
- Price
Basically I focus on qualities before thinking of the price, so even if it was a fact that you get a big value for your money, it would be still too expensive for many regardless of their purchasing power
That's why I ended up with two iphone generations thanks to Applecare covering my needs
I don't really use my phone that much, that I could easily justify spending over 500€ on it after you factor in the new charger & earbuds. Calls, navigation, keeping in touch with friends on whatsapp, photos, music. That's all I've used this one for. I'd be adding better photos with an actual objective, and being able to hop in on Warframe if I'm on a trip during a weekend when Baro arrives.
Generally, if I'm away from home I have better things to do than playing games.
You would be surprised but I rely just on basic features too. Such as a phone being a phone
, calendar, alert, some apps like flight and train schedules, etc. basically all about communication
You will never see me playing a game on my phone or watching movies or streaming youtube 200gb a month lol
But music is fine for me too
It would be interesting to find out just how long Nothing phone works perfectly fine, wear&tear etc
That's one more reason why I never purchased another tablet but ipads. The only reason why I had to abandon my air two from long time ago was their shutdown of updates. The ipad itself was still fully functional and running smoothly.
My 1100 was all-plastic too...
I would not be particularly hyped for metal chassis on a phone since I've had to use my phone outdoors in the winter quite a lot :D
Ever since I had this epic experience with HTC One M6 I'm very fond of nonplastic materials, can be alu, can be ceramics or any other reasonable option in the future
I'd like to minimize my plastic footprint as much as I can bc it's not like we can replace the oil industry anytime soon, so I'd prefer using the rss for more important industry areas
I was recently blamed for wasting money in purchasing another desktop chassis but it's not like I'm throwing away my old one, it's getting a 2nd life as usual and some people are happy if they get such things free of charge. The desktop industry is going south, I'm merely taking advantage of good deals and preparing for the worst. Best case my consumption helped them endure the crisis 😂
Question: if a charger states 50W charging power and it has 2x USB-C, does that mean it can only charge a single device at 25W
Hmm. HMMM!!!
So, a 65W charger can only charge a phone with a 50W charging limit at 45W, since the pre-set settings the charger has are 15W, 27W, 36W, 45W and 65W?
I would say 99% it's a split of 25/25
Well that's one thing but keep in mind the faster your charger, the higher the wear on your battery too
