Okay so I've installed Arma a while back and I can't play the game because every time I load it up and try playing the single player Campaign or Multiplayer It freeze and doesn't respond. I can't even close it when I go to my desktop because my mouse still has the Arma Cursor. Please help I just want to play the game.

Also I've Uninstalled and reinstalled Arma 2 times with steam and Once manually. And all those times I've verified my files at least 3 times. Hell I've even tried to run Arma using the 32 bit and set to the default launcher setting.

Update I deleted one of my profiles that was made beacuse of my new PC and seemed to fix the Arma cursor Problem (I'm able to click on my pinned apps and interact with them) but still Arma freeze

Update #2 Fixed the issue. Deleted the profile that I was using and made a new one. I'm assuming the profile was corrupt somehow? anyway now I can finally play the game.

Okay, in the middle of mission making, my helicopters won't take off when I use a waypoint activation set to a trigger that activates when radioed. How can I get them to take off when I activate the trigger?

I wouldn't be surprised to find that you've actually reduced your FPS by following that guide.

Ah there once was a refresh rate option in the video options. but seems like it was removed from the UI.

refresh= option changes the vsync time. But that is auto detected from the display.
meaning if you use a 100hz display, it will already be set to 100, setting it to 100 again won't change anything @slow abyss

I also had this issue on Siege, my monitor was at 100 and the game's was at 60, the game had its own option about switching the Hz and i solved it by just seitching th hz (ingame) from 60 to 100

it took about 10 mins for my pc to findit it was hidden somewhere else dont remember where, i opened the notepad and the game was at 144hz

i witched it at 100, now it plays like it should be

Hello, so when i play with any mod i run 80fps no matter what. If i use low settings i have 80 fps

Ultra settings is still 80 fps

but in gunfights no matter what, i get 30 fps

But if i have no mods i get a shit ton of fps

I'm having an interesting issue. Once in a blue moon when booting Arma (no matter profile or modlist) hud-color settings, difficulty settings, and (sometimes) CBA settings reset 🤔 I also get the pop-ups from certain DLC and mods as if using them for the first time.

The following instructions are using the 'default' Arma 3 Apex preset so if you're using a different one or modified your keybindings then change these accordingly...

To get your squad into the helicopter:

1. Select your intended passengers (F# keys), then either...
   2a) Look at the helicopter in first/third-person -- the cursor will change from crosshairs to a |V|-like icon -- or mouse over it on the map, either way until Interact on the left-hand Quick Command(s) menu is replaced with Get In <helicopter name>, then press either of the Use Default Action (Space or Enter) or Use Selected Action (Middle Mouse Button) keybinds. (If you were mousing over on the map, you can simply click your Prim. Mouse Btn. while while Get In <helicopter name> appears.)
   OR
   2b) Press the Select Menu 4 keybind, upon which the Quick Commands menu should be replaced with a Mount menu giving a list of vehicles for them to enter, followed by the number corresponding to your helicopter, and finally the number for Anywhere, Ride in back, or a crew seat if any of those aren't already taken.

To have the pilot fly to a point on the map:
3) Select the pilot, see that Move There is selected on the Quick Command menu, then either in first/third-person point your cursor at the intended destination and press the default/selected action keybind, or from the map left-click the destination.

Finally, in order to land, I've been selecting my pilot and telling them to Disembark (from the Quick Command or the aforementioned Mount menu)... hopefully someone else has better instructions than that.

EDIT: Last note: If you are a passenger or crew of said helicopter and do not have third-person view enabled, then instead of using the cursor to point to a destination (even in first-person view) you'll have to use the map; if you do have third-person enabled then you can press the Tactical View keybind to switch to a view with the cursor not locked to the center of the screen

I may be missing other methods such as utilizing waypoints, and the above assumes that you're talking about doing this in the context of 'live gameplay' and not, say, setting up 'mission opens with a helicopter landing' in the Editor

Oh, and there isn't a guarantee that the AI will land at or even move to/hover overhead exactly where you point them to... but if it's close enough to a visible helipad, the AI may select said helipad as the destination

After being hit, in the HULL (Red) and the FUEL (orange) I have gone to repair to the airport as the mission itself indicates. I have arrived there and it seems to refuel infinitely (because of the FUEL hitpoint state???). I can provide a screenshot if it's needed.

@thin iron In earlier messages you mentioned TADST. Is that the tool you used to setup a server? When asking for help in troubleshooting it is much more helpful if you show the settings and changes you have done to get it to work as you wish. Then obvious errors might be noticed. .... but you really need to do something about your spelling. It is almost impossible to follow what you are trying to say. And not just by me.

Is there any way to disable Arma's auto-benchmarking thing? Any time I drop below 20 FPS for even a few seconds, the game takes away the option in my video settings for High, Very High or Ultra and automatically sets all my options to Low.

If I try to set everything back to Very High and I drop below 20 FPS again, it'll just set my textures to Low without even changing the option in my settings. Textures will look like crap but it'll still say they're set to Very High when they're clearly not.

It's not a "auto-benchmarking thing", it's simply your PC not being able to handle the graphics fast enough so it will try to load at least something.

Alternative would be waiting 5-10 seconds for each frame to load

It's not a temporary issue though. The quality doesn't drop momentarily during that dip below 20 FPS, it permanently sets itself to a lower quality and I have to go back in and change it every time it does.

It's getting annoying to have to go in and reconfigure my video settings every time I drop frames for a second because it changes itself to Low in order to compensate for a spike

I can run the game at Ultra perfectly fine but the second a curator spawns a bunch of stuff and dips my FPS, all of my video settings revert to Low to compensate for the frame loss and I have to go in and change them again

Yeah this is one of the only things I could find on the topic but it isn't working for me. in the player menu via the map there is a space added for where the emblem would normally be but it isn't there. I initially thought it was an issue with transparency since I couldn't figure out how to not blend it in. I replaced transparency with white and used a webtool to re-add it through that to no avail.

I'd also like to know how to have an emblem without a unit tag as I've seen it, but I'm not sure how that is done.

We have a strange problem on our servers. The thermal vision of the Special Purpose Helmet (CSAT) is bright as white on days. In nights, it works just fine. The strange thing about it is, that only the helmet (we didnt tried any other mod helmet we use) has this problem. Laser Designators, vehicle weapons, vehicle scout systems work just fine (also mod vehicles). Anyone also have this problem?

I couldn't find a video of the game on a 10700 but here it is on the over-a-year-older i5-9400F, with half the RAM and a 2060 6 GB, on 'generally Ultra' settings and the three hardest-impacting-the-CPU settings (PIP and view distances) turned up... over the course of an official singleplayer scenario, AVG of 75 fps and the 1% LOW is 35 fps: https://youtu.be/qjircs9iypM

Hiya everyone.

Have an unusual networking bug. A player of mine could not find a (dedicated) server of mine using "direct connect". The others had no problem.

I checked by screenshot that he used the correct IP and port. He also could not find the server manually under the "internet" server list. Could also not be invited to server using Steam friends. We were stuck until bizarrely, he opened the list of previously opened servers, and selected the server from there. He connected and played without problems.

Any troubleshooting clues on this?

(note: yes he'd played previously on the server. Pretty sure he used Direct Connect without problems then)

hello, I've been getting random screen flickering. I am running on a 10900k/3090/32GB RAM. hdr-enabled monitor with gsync @ 165hz. I've tried messing with startup parameters by setting cpu cores to 10, enabling hyperthreading, specifying the memory allocator etc. It doesnt happen often but I can fix it by exiting to main menu and resuming my scenario. Wondering if this is specific to the chernarus redux scenario im playing (ravage)

Using HostHavoc for my Unit, created a new mission for an ongoing campaign but the mission won't load on the server, it just loops on the web console as starting and in-game shows up as stuck on "creating", none of the warnings are familiar to me compared to the usual warnings, correct commandline is on, correct mods on, mission made with the same modpack as the server, using the #missions command works for our normal missions but when trying to load this one it shows a black slot screen and after a couple minutes forces back onto another mission file, not quite sure what to try here.

Hey, I have some issues regarding the custom compositions in Eden editor. When I save the composition it shows up on the list on the right but when I want to place it down, nothing shows up. After restarting the game the composition is gone. When I check the compositions folder in Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles it is empty. I restarted the game many times, switched profiles, verify, reinstall game without success and I'm running out of ideas, i launched the game with no mods at all, still with no success on saving. Sorry. I open the eden editor. Place down some units, mess around with their loadouts, browse animations and assign the ones i like, then I test play. In that test play through eden that error shows up.

I've tried direct connection, using my friend's IP address, I've tried looking at port forwarding I've spent days looking for answers on Google and I can't find anything.

All that happens is I Select a server to join and get a static screen that looks at the loading map, nothing else no matter how long I leave it.

I can't even refund the game now because we've been trying to get this to work for too long. I could really do with some help.

I'm not running any mods, I only have marksman DLC because I was told that was needed.

It increases bandaging speed in ACE3 Medical with 100%. Time is still affected by type of wound etc, its just twice as fast as before.

There's a minor bug which breaks the VON volume slider in game, where the VON volume is regulated by the "Effects" slider in the Audio Options. Simply increase that and you'll hear people better.
If you use TFAR or ACRE instead, simply increase the volume of Teamspeak 🤷‍♂️

Well; it means that there is an important file which has the wrong size or is corrupt. So going through those steps will 99.9% certain fix the broken file.

our problem was fixed (we think) after finding and removing a broken trigger in the rpt that was repeatedly firing and activating a bunch of units over and over. the wierd thing was that the crashes happened for all players at a specific spot on the map, that was kilometers away from the trigger.
Avoiding this spot delayed the crashes for about half an hour, removing the trigger fixed the problem

Ok so I need some help. I have a hotas t flight x, I recently purchased arma but I previously had it pirated cuz I was broke and couldn’t shell out the $120 for a full copy. Now with the new copy, it refuses to detect my flight stick and calls it a “xbox360 controller” now the last copy detected it as it should’ve with the proper name and amount of buttons. The new one, however, doesn’t have all the buttons and won’t even work. I’ve tried going into steam and fixing it but it just won’t work. Please help, I don’t want to buy a new one just yet.

Good day, I logged in today and I got that message that you get when you join for the first time and when I looked in my arsenal all my 150+ loadouts were deleted. I noticed that the outline was changed to an orange colour as well. I have 500 hours in this game and I put a lot of effort in my loadouts, does anyone know a way to recover them?

@round stirrup , log in to your router and see if UPnP is even enabled/blocked. Often it is disabled because of potential security issues. While you are there, you might as well set up portforwarding instead. UDP ports 2302-2306 to the IPv4 addresss of your server. If that is your desktop pc then find the option to reserve it's address (under DHCP/LAN reservation likely) for the MAC address of it's network adapter.

Or the IPv4 address of your computer may have changed tomorrow.

Put down a trigger that adds curator editable objects on a script in a game logic icon in the eden editor that runs on a timer. I find that much better than syncing units with a module. I don't have the script right now but I found it on the internet somewhere

My addon made in with Arma 3 Tools and Addon Builder was has shat me the Cannot open object error on my face in game, so I'm trying to immigrate to Mikero's tools, but I've encountered the same problem as @cyan kestrel's 'extractpbodos' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. issue. Exact same one.
Nothing's working on my computer as if it doesn't want to do anything productive.

I installed Arma 3 Tools and ran (also ran Addon Builder), installed Mikero's ArmA3p, DeOgg, Depbo, DeRap, ExtractPbo, MakePbo, pboProject, and Rapify (I reinstalled them three times). Ran Arma 3. And YET, I'm still having this problem.

Is there a any way to fix this? My time and patients is running out.

you need to set up the windows environment path for the mikero tools. There is a guide for that on the internet and I think in the tools documentation somewhere

time and patience are something you dont have the luxury to run out when modding.

So most of the time when i try to set up a server and have my friends join they cant see my server like even if they type in the name and address it still doesn't come up in Friends/Internet. we also try connecting to a Hamachi server to be on Lan but still doesn't appear ?

made sure all ports are forwarded correctly
the server can be seen on steam but not in game

If you happen to have ipv6 and not ipv4 Internet connection then hosting is not possible I think. Thta you can check from your Internet provider
