i cant play arma 3 at all with sound this is so annoying
Hello i think i have a database problem, when ever i try to run my sql file i get this message "mysql.proc doesn't exist". I know what it means, but i don't know how to fix it? Anyone of you guys that maybe can help me out? ๐

this error is because the mission is looking for player information data stored somewhere on the server and it's not present because you're running this locally

After I reseted my PC
Before I had Nvidia and Intel drivers installed
now after I rested the device manager
can only display the Intel one
and the intel one does run Arma 3
in low FPS

@chrome merlin do you have a laptop? If yes, then go to the Nvidia control panel, and in the game settings make sure that Arma runs on the Nvidia GPU

it normally pushes a message to chat or RPT
problem with chat is that the chat get's hidden in server browser or main menu
so you have a message but can't see it
to see it you can join a server. Or maybe if you host your own server you can see the chatlog

Hello, I made a scenario with a different modset than that we are using now. I cannot open the scenario anymore because it doesn't have the Paddle mod, which does not even have objects and I never used it. How do I fix this ?

anybody know why my server just freezes on this
it will sit there for anywhere from 30 seconds to an hour before doing anything

Does it stop when someone tries joining the server?
no the server doesnt start up at all
it just sits there on that forever and maybe will boot or will maybe just loop that forever

im trying to boot it with no mods now and when it finally does get past that it just freezes again at creating action cache
when i got it to load with mods i would try to load a mission and it would just sit there forever and never load the mission
-noPause -noSound -maxMem=4096 -world=empty < you can delete that, server has no user interface and main menu, for the maxMem if that param even works for the server that will not limit max memory usage anyway...
@royal umbra the -noPause -noSound parameters are useless.
@wanton shale where did you get the idea that maxMem doesn't limit the memory usage? Because that's actually exactly what it does. And no reason why it wouldn't work on a server

Note that setting maxMem to 2000 does not mean that the game will never allocate more then 2000 MiB. It says that the game will do everything in its power to not cross this limit.
In general, it makes sense not using this parameter at all and only resort to it in case you experience issues with memory.

I'd say it's useless too if his maxMem limit equals his available memory. But he has 32GB of memory but is limiting the Arma server to 4GB. So I'm quite sure that's actually intended

It's a rented server, I assume it's probably a virtual machine limited to 4gb running on a physical machine that has 32gb
I don't think I can even remove the -noSound and -noPause. They're just default parameters from the host
Anyway i reinstalled everything overnight and I'm currently waiting on RHS to download again. Maybe things will work
Does anyone know why a server would write Arma3 not found in the .rpt log files ? We have 2 servers that have this issue but one does actually run fine while our main operations server does not

Anyone here have experience with the whole TADST tool? I'm trying to figure out a way to edit the missions parameters (antistasi), but the tool itself has no way of changing them, and they can't be edited if the server auto inits. The only way i've managed to change parameters is by directly unpacking the mission pbo, editing the defaults in description.ext, but when i do that the server console just spams "Mission read from bank." every second
Great, according to the antistasi github server setup guide i should edit the config.cfg to force parameters, but when i add it in and launch the server ,i get an infinite loading screen, except this time the server console gives no errors yayyyyy!

Fixed! I was right, the Syntax was wrong. (only just started learning c lol go easy on me)
If anyone also needs help with this, you open the server config.cfg file (TADST_config if your using TADST), then paste this inside the mission_1 class:
class Params {membership = 0; switchComm = 1; tkPunish = 0; allowPvP = 0; civTraffic = 0.5; unlockItem = 15; };
Then select the values for the parameters you want. You only need to put in parameters that you want to force change, if you want to keep a defaut parameter you can leave it out
Rpt files that don't show any fucking errors are the bane of my existence
For some reason sounds of vehicle engine not playing until vehicle enters 250m range for the first time. It makes config change checking a lit bit frustrating. Anyone know a reason or at least a workaround?

My arma unit currently has the following issue: When we start our mission it's a gamble if the respawn system work it does fix itself after a couple of restarts

but after restarting the server a couple of times they do get the option to spawn

Seems to be a bug in some vanilla crap..
What did most often fix it for us is.. to kill yourself. Even though you are not spawned and cannot spawn. Your body is standing around somewhere. Just kill that body. So that you die and the respawn script starts fresh. Usually fixes it
But for that you need someone ingame to execute scripts on your body. Or you need to have some way to execute scripts in map screen to kill yourself

Question for you guys - member of my unit gets unbearable lag whenever the Zeus spawns units. Frames drop to 1FPS, the terrain/textures/etc all disappear and start to reload, and it just cycles whenever a new unit is spawned. We've dropped his settings all the way down, still happens. He's the only person it happens to, so I'm fairly confident it's not anything our end. Any ideas why this may be occurring? I've optimized his launch settings and swapped his malloc but I've never seen that sort of bug/glitch/performance issue before.
He had his memory limited to 3GB when he has 8GB so I removed that cap from his launch params.. hoping that fixed it ๐ค

if you are using respawn templates "Menu Position" you will need respawnOnStart = 1; to force respawn and respawn screen after,
but if you are using modules for the respawn positions that's the problem already, don't use them add positions manually.
also you have to make sure that the positions (at least one) was added before the respawn screen and after the briefing/time > 0/mission start... @vast glen

I'm trying to help a friend with ACRE issue - it says ACRE not connected. Plugin is in the correct place %appdata%\TS3Client\Plugins, on TS the version is connected but says arma connected No, plugin is enabled in ts options

The editor worked fine previously but now seems to be saving to the same folder that it exports single player missions to \Documents\Arma 3\missions. which lets me play the map but not resume any saves. anyone have a suggestion on whats wrong
I have tried saving to different names, tried making a new map, binarized and non but still the same folder that it exports to.
When you save a mission, notice how you can select your missions or mpmissions folder? They work just the same

but if I recall it saved to \Documents\Arma 3\Saved\missions on a previous map I made and the exported to \Documents\Arma 3\missions which worked fine
or maybe it was Documents\Arma 3\UserSaved\missions but still exported folder was different than saved folder

The issue with ACRE was resolved. He was running ts3 client (3.1.10) as administrator, while Arma as non-admin.

Only time that problem ever appeared was when a guy had copied a very old TFAR version into his Arma Addons folder and was loading TFAR twice ^^
I know, we will switch to it one day. Small steps. TFAR is more robust. The only thing they use against it is that ACRE allegedly has better simulated drop of signal. Haven't used TFAR for some time though, maybe you ๐ upgraded that.

you killed parts of windows processes?
turned off services
"game prelauncher" lets you auto turn off "unneeded" services/restore to gain a little bit of performance /return to usual state, it's ok in usual state so it seems some additional services needed, maybe related to netframework(?), I'll start chekicng some of them as there around 100 that turned off
anyone else having issues conecting to servers after the win10 update? its turned by firewall back on (and who knows what else) and now i have a yellow chain , takes forever connecting to a server, when i get to role select and theirs no roles or players ect.
ps: if i leave it long enough the roles show but changing role takes forever and the longer i stay connected the higher my ping goes up to 3000ms ping, but if i tracert the server its under 15ms ping the whole way...

i had win 10 installed for exactly 3 days, and all of a sudden all my external sound cards caused BSoD's within minutes of booting the pc. not with win8.1
win10 is known for causing troubles. especially older x64 applications and usb headsets
so, do yourself a favor... order a win8.1 key for 10-15,- on ebay, install it, and be happy ๐

Zeus is not letting me spawn in modded units. My previous fix which was allowing unofficial addons in the game master module seemed to fix it. However it's no longer working and I can only spawn certain units from each main category. (I am using CUP)
So, using two mods that include a few different buildings. One of the more important buildings that we are using from "Mod A", is being overridden by a building with the exact same name from "Mod B". Is there a way to prioritize the building of that name from Mod A over the one from Mod B?

Hey guys, I did a mission for my server, to play with Friends. We are a small team playing with Zeus, so the mission only contain about 20 units and 3 buildings, so nothing too big. But even if the mission work without any problem on my computer, once upload to my host, I can't play more than 30 seconds without being kicked to the lobby without any message. Did I missed something in the config ?
Are you using any modifications? Maybe the server is missing one or has an old mod version.
I use only 2 scripts I made
But only functions to change little things, so nothing annoying I think.

also after you get kicked. Try reconnecting immediately and check if there is anything in your chatlog. Sometimes Arma prints stuff to chatlog. Which get's hidden in main menu or server browser. So you might overlook that

if you have 3 players on your server. That means your whitelist script executes 3 times on your machine
you should run it from initPlayerLocal.sqf with using player as the object

I don't call the script directly, I bind it to the respawn of the unit.
could be that when your script runs. player is not properly spawned yet and is a nullObj. And getPlayerUID won't return a correct value in that case
You might want a waitUntil {!isNull player}; in your whitelist script too

You have that #include in some missions description.ext
that doesn't work anymore since 3DEN. Either you copy that file into your mission pbo and include it from there. Or you need to get rid of that

Hello, I have this weird watermark on arma that ive never had before, when i screen shot from steam its not there which leads me to believe its hardware. on the left of my screen is a large square with what looks like a green sonar or radar detector, and on the right is a bunch of audio mixers for bass boost and treble. I cannot interface with them or get rid of them they just stay there doing nothing, does anyone have an idea what this is?

More than 3/4 of all arma sound issues, CtD's gpu dropouts are related to win10. So yes, win10 IS the problem! Just don't use it an most of the problems are gone...

Im trying to set up a zeus mission on a custom map so a group of my friends can zeus on a map other than takistan and chernarus
Im setting the zeus up as if it was a seperate faction, IE in the lobby theres a Virtual faction, and one of the players are zeus

There are two problems im finding which are whenever I play as the zeus, I cant respawn, and the screen becomes dark, and freezes every second, the ten second respawn is slow, as it goes 100 - 300 milliseconds down each time a frame passes

im so confused
I am experiencing an issue with FPS stuttering briefly for approximately 1 second, my game freeze frames for 1 second whenever I press the voice button to mic up in game, it then unfreezes and FPS quickly returns to normal even while continuing to hold the voice button, it only happens when voice button is first engaged.
I can hear others fine, and they can hear me well also. I just get this annoying 1 second freeze frame every time I press the button to mic up.
My hardware and specs are fine as I have not had this happen with Arma 3 in the past on this exact same rig or with other applications currently.
A few things I have tried doing to troubleshoot this weird issue...
I've changed my voice buttons in game.
Set microphone properties to disable all enhancements and adjusted default format to 1 Channel, 16 bit 48000 Hz (Also tried exclusive mode)
Launch Arma 3 without mods.
Verified game files via steam.
Re-installed Arma 3.
Tried my microphone through multiple USB ports.
Microphone drivers are up to date.
Tried running Arma 3 in 32-bit mode.
One thing worked, I tried a different microphone and the 1 second freeze frame was gone upon pressing talk button. It seems that Arma 3 does not like the Blue Yeti Pro. This same microphone and driver package has worked with Arma 3 in the past. Is anyone else experiencing this issue with the same microphone or even a different microphone as me?
Any thoughts or ideas to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Seems like an uncommon issue. This is using the in-game VoIP, correct?
Yes.
I can't personally say anything that might help fix the issue, but a workaround to use that microphone is to use it through Teamspeak, possibly using ACRE or TFAR.
This isn't really effective on public games (unless those games have populated TS servers), but Communities for the most part don't use the ingame setup at all.
Arma does not play well with USB headsets
I did some more troubleshooting and was able to get the issue to stop but only if I have another application running on the computer that uses the same microphone.
It is strange to me that it would stutter otherwise though.
Example: If Arma 3 is the only app running on my PC and I try to push talk button with my Blue Yeti Pro it causes a small freeze frame. If I open discord and hop in a voice channel then push to talk on Arma 3 it doesn't freeze frame anymore.
The moment I leave voice channel on discord or close whatever other software that detects my Blue Yeti Pro, boom, back to freeze frames on the key press.
remove all usb microphone headphone/mics and try with a non usb device and see if that makes a difference.
I don't have any analog microphones, but it worked fine with my old usb headset.
And it worked fine 2 years ago.

I have a USB headset + microphone and arma 3 has always worked fine with it

The AI in my game are able to see vehicles through terrain and it's really ruining my game.. Has anyone encountered this bug before? It persists after a reinstall and there's been no response on the feedback tracker.

On the plus side reinstalling seemed to improve performance for some reason.
Infantry vs Infantry are fine, but as I'm spectating their eyes are locked on the vehicles through the ground
@lost parrot They have no idea where the vehicle is at until it comes into actual view. They will have this "locked eyes" effect because they probably hear it. this happens the same way for infantry
There are a couple different script commands to test this definitively

UAVs, planes, infantry, cars, anything. If they have a radio and they're grouped they'll share intel

I was a bit surprised, also when enemy artillery fires, often the AI will call the artillery pieces, even though theyโre on the other side of the map, this time literally 10km away if not more lol

@tropic yarrow I don't think you're understanding what I'm saying. There's no other AI, it's just me and a squad I spawn in the editor with a stationary enemy vehicle on the other side of a hill. No sound is being produced. They are targeting it and calling out as soon as I look towards the hill.
If I lower the difficulty I get a target reticule that will track exactly where it is as well as a map marker. But as I play with veteran preset I didn't notice this until recently showing how bad the problem actually is. Vehicles are unusable in my game currently.

I am having problem with arma 3 it started in summer. Everey time I play arma 3 always comes black screen and it will crash my pc and the only option is to restart it from the button (holding it until it turns off) I didn't had that problem before I played with mods and dind't have issues and now im only searching for fix what I can't find. I have vertyfied the files many time I have uninstalled all mods and the game and I have deleted my arma 3 folder from profile and I have tried many launch options but nothing works.
I even used the ccleaner for fixing files what someone from bohemia recommended

extending the timeout doesn't help. Atleast not with the problem I have with my graphics drivers. Everything freezes till the timeout runs out and the gpu driver get's reset. The timeout is several seconds, so it's not really gonna help much with micro dropouts? Or did they really reduce it to a couple milliseconds in win10?

No idea what the timeout with win10 is, but apparently a couple ms are enough to make the machine go bonkers
I have no problem whatsoever playing A3 on win10
So do many others. But those who have these weird GPU and USB headset fails are win10 exclusive, and since creators update 2017.
I have never seen this fails with win8.1, nor win7
Also have a USB headset and it freeze some games. But arma 3 seems fine lol... same for modding, I used to play GTA5 with mods but not anymore because it just crash every damn hours, I'd better play A3 which fail once a month

We are running a dedicated ArmA server on linux. As a Zeus sometimes my RPT file gets spammed with ~1 million lines stating:

I have already narrowed it down to being a problem the insiginia that some players have defined using their steam group or ArmA Unit. It seems that if players use the insignia from there it throws these errors while I am Zeus. There seems to be no such problem with insignia defined using squad.xml files. So I think this might be a linux server only issue, but how do I get rid of this? I can of course just say [x] no logs, but that's not feasible as I often need other feedback from the RPT. Can I somehow prevent people from using this type of insiginias? Also I won't switch to windows server, just saying ๐ Any ideas, anyone?

I was getting a issue with my server that causes the server to spew out a "Network message pending" error. Once the error starts the server stalls and either recovers or it forces me to restart the server.
This is playing with mods and around 60 players.
I have already tried messing with my basic.cfg file. It seemed to to work when I put my "MinBandwidth=" back to default but it still causes problems.
One more detail is that I am using the latest performance version of the dedicated server.

As you are playing a modded version of the game, it could literally be anything. A good starting point would be to tell us what mods you are using.

why are some loadouts available to be loaded and some arent?
I made them in the virtual arsenal and now I cant load them in game and in the Virtual arsenal
now I deleted some and can use the upper ones but not the last ones. I can use only 9/11

Greets All I have a problem with the using a CH pro Throttle in arma 3 for VTOL flight. I have bound it as z+ and z- axis (forward and back) to plane throttle analogue control but for some reason I can only ever get 6% throttle. IS there anyone that can help with htis problem?
The throttle shows full range of motion and is working in all other applications except in arma 3
I have also tried a different joystick bound in the same manner for forward and back and that device too can get no more than 6% thrust when in analogue.
when bound to digital up and down throttle both devices work fine. How can I get Analogue throttle working correctly?

Ok this time it seems what is 6% throttle for VTOL is about 66% throttle for collective raise and 33% at the full lowered throttle position bound to collective lower. This is not enough to raise the helo off the ground.
Strange that this time it is not registering 100% for collective as it used to do
Let me adjust the sensitivity perhaps or maybe deadzones
adjusting sensitivity and deadzones only increases the range on helo to 67% at max throttle range.

I decided to reset system as controller part of arma config refreshed and still displayed CH control manager 1 instead of CH pro throttle like it would have if it was detecting the raw device

(its kind of frustrating as I have not been able to get my flight gear work with arma for a while, its why I kinda abandoned flying there but really want to give it another go, previously I had problems getting a fixed wing to even lift off a runway with the same controller which has no problems in other games)

binary keys can increase and lower throttle (here collective in helo) no problem to raise and lower the helo, but it is binary and not analogue and does not resolve my initial problem

Could it be that I am binding the axis wrongly, I read somewhere that you should start to bind with the throttle placed at 50% position then move it up and then move it down. Don't know what I am doing wrong.
I have tried a fixed wing and only get 25 on the engine when the throttle is at full and 0 without. I will try a different airplane - that was on the A-10 Thunderbolt II.
