so cannot create a new key, and 79 bisigns out of 205 fail when building on both server and local pc
most likely the issue I linked.. Armake has a fix for that but not merged it yet
WINDOWS FIX FOR DSUTILS
For "Key not valid for use in specified state" errors removing the folder RSA from C:\Users<User>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA fixed my issue with DSUtils making working bisigns
it now creates all files perfectly, and verifies them all ok

Hello! I am trying to host a server with TADST! I have mods, etc. But when you launch, it loads everything fine. When you try to go past lobby, it will kick you back to lobby if any possible error shows up at all. These are errors that, with a Listen server, had no issue. They were just pop up warnings basically like "Error: creating weapon optic_acog with scope=private" which was fine. However, it kicks me - and other players - back to lobby for it.
No matter the error, it kicks you back. Is there a way to bypass the kicking?
So i can not open the Load tab on the Virtual Arsenal or and other Arsenal

@tired echo try and load a vanilla mp mission liker apex protocol without any mods, if it works, then you just have to fix all the launch errors in your mission file

dedi servers dont like errors at all, but if its something that doesnt actualy matter like a generic weapon error make the script or whateve it is run after the mission has started, on something like an addaction
Yeah the biggest error are things that don't matter.
Things that ran when I hosted it as a Listen server.
Such as scope things.

Ah, it's not so much the scope that's the problem. The errors, again, are inconsequential - things that didn't interrupt anything when running as a Listen server.
And I have an RPT! Keep in mind .. uh.
There's a fair amalgamation of mods, and I'm using a hacked up version of ArmSTALKER, as I'm using it for a bit of an RPG situation.
AKA me DMing players throughout an 'open world' campaign.
But again, none of this caused problems in Listen servers.
No significant errors, thanks to the toil I gave.

Or alternatively - can't we bypass the errors causing players to return to lobby?
Cause the server runs, it's just .. I get kicked to the server's lobby when trying to play. If it's not one error, it's the next, including the scope one, that, in no way shape or form, should STOP a server from running.

Sorry for not responding earlier @neat mica but ive been busy and thought i repost my issue as it is still unresolved. Other players cannot hear me in game in all channels. My mic works fine in everything else I use a mic for such as other games, discord and skype. I have been searching the internet to try and find a solution to this problem but none of the common solutions posted on forums work for me. BTW my mic is my default device and Steam successfully picks up my mic. I have tried running steam as administrator. I have updated and uninstalled then reinstalled my drivers as well and my mic still wont work in game chat. Can any help me?

Go into Sounds, see if there are any extra microphones that might be being annoying, but that's secondary.
Disable and re-enable your mic.
Just tried disabling and reenabling my mic but that hasnt worked. I dont have any extra mics btw.
The extra mics could be virtual, etc

@fringe salmon could also try to switch to a different profile ingame. That will reset all your ingame settings in case anything is wrong in there

If that doesn't work then I'm out of random ideas. I'd just get my profiler out and check what's so slow. But that might be going a little too far for you

@brazen nimbus I've come to associate "steam ticket failure" with "corrputed arma profile", I'd try what Dedmen suggested. If you have no clue what he meant just create a new user for your computer, login as that user and try to reproduce your issue. If you can't your profile needs to be deleted sadly, so you'll lose all configs and saves.

config files don't matter unless you deleted everything and copied the whole config from somewhere else. Or for whatever other reason deliberately disabled the serverlist in the config.... I think it's better if you show config too.. Make sure to remove the admin password

Hello. So I am having this weird issue. I load up a new mission, place a unit down, put zeus module down with all addons including unofficial ones. I load up the game, I activate zeus, and everythign is there but then the screen goes black, and then all the addons except for vanilla, RHS and achilles dissapear. I have the latest ACE, CBA. However, I load up an older mission and launch zeus and everything is there!! Any ideas?

I'm having bad FPS while using a Ryzen 1700 with Geforce 1080Ti
There is no bottleneck as under any circumstances the CPU is being used in 100% and even that my GPU never passes 50%.
Running YAAB im getting somethin near 30 FPS with configs set to Ultra.
Is there any way to get a better performance?

in every other games even the "new and heavy" ones I`m getting a pretty high FPS count

@rare folio Newer games are actually at an advantage because they were written from scratch to take advantage of multiple cores. Arma 3, aside from being an old game at this point, was based on an even older engine that cannot take full advantage of multiple threads. Additionally it's an entirely different game, although they tend to avoid calling it a simulator, it is simulating thousands of real world elements - everything from the weather, night and day cycles, seasons, position of the sun, moon and stars in the sky (these are accurate with the time of year and latitude, with a real star map), tides to the actual AI which are true AI which each have their own view of the world, memories etc.
As a consequence, it's accepted by pretty much everyone that the acceptable minimum framerate for Arma 3 is 30fps and indeed it's completely playable at that framerate, without a framerate overlay on screen you'd not notice. Arma after all is not a twitch shooter, it's a slower paced game than that.

framerate is tied to the simulation thread, which is on the CPU
there are a couple of things you can turn off in the settings to get a bettter framerate and which most people feel aren't required, ATOC is on
Had run YAAB again yesterday and CPU never got more than 93% of use. I'm talking about the core that was most used as other cores were most not in use
I get an average framerate of ~60+ fps on my 4790K and GTX 1080 @ 1920x1080 ... however it heavily depends on whether it's SP or MP, and if MP which game mode or mod - certain mods like KoTH, Altis Life etc have badly performing scripts which drag down the framerate

I actually get around 30fps at 4K in singleplayer ... but at the moment the Linux build is a bit unstable at high resolutions hence why I'm playing at FHD

Yeah I'm pretty sure arma likes less, more powerful cores than more less powerful ones. Because Ryzen 7 has more cores that are less powerful than intel (not entirely sure on that) it doesn't perform as well. Even though with more cores + threads it should be much faster for processing multiple things at once

there are many minor tricks that do something for some people
but there is no -moarFPS parameter
if there was then BI would enable that by default

Im having trouble joining a exile server. could anyone help out
They're .pbo errors. They're not loading off of my machine correctly according to the server admin. Im aware that this is the general arma, but ive been struggling to be able to join a server. Normal exile works fine. When the server is modded, i can join for about 10-20 min then i get kicked with a .pbo error. Vanilla works flawlessly. New windows install. Mod and arma files have all been verified multiple times
"a .pbo error" Which one of the dozens of completly different errors that might potentially have a ".pbo" inside them?

if not ill have to wait for the owner to log in since he only has access to it. The admin was simply relaying his message. Lots of middlemen here. If that is the case do you know what might have caused thsoe mods to not load
If the server is kicking you. Then I guess the server knows why. And will log in it's log why it's kicking you

i've recently started learning how to script in zeus coops and I've run into a problem with addItemCargoGlobal addWeaponCargoGlobal addMagazineCargoGlobal addBackpackCargoGlobal... all contents when loaded sometimes are multiplied,, like I set to add 6 mags in the script, but after a while or immediately after loading the script to players, they are multiplied. so I have players Over encumbered mid game and I don't know a fix except removing all their items and loading the script again

My unit and I have been trying to add missions to our server. However it always comes up with the blank screen with the Enable AI thing.
All multiplayer settings have been set so it's compatible for people to play on multiplayer (I've done it before) However whenever I view the report, it always comes up with "This mission cannot be played because it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted"
It varies differently between missions and it's frustrating me.
The addons on the server ARE there.
I am playing a coop mission with a friend but we cannot see the markers (with shift + t) from each other. Is there any way to fix it? In some mission we see them in some we dont
by markers you mean the "tactical ping"?

The link above is a reference to show CPU usage during him full-auto, along with memory. Memory is that high just because of arma, did not spike or lower due to these actions, and I have much more memory than that says

What I'm doing is a prolonged test --
The person spooled up still, but the shots still eventually accelerated up to the proper full auto, and things looked normal
I'm thinking that maybe, it only spools up once
So I'm having him wait ten minutes, have the server do nothing for ten minutes
just idling, with parameters/NPCs etc around
and then, in ten minutes, have him full auto at NPCs again .see if the sudden change in packets causes the spool up again
If he does not suddenly desync again, then perhaps I've fixed it to where it only spools up at the beginning
We waited ten minutes in the server, and immediately jumped back into fighting 3 AI, telling my friend to full auto.
The desync came back immediately, and his gun once more spooled up, proving that this doesn't just happen at the beginning of the mission.
I'm at a complete loss.

This is gamebreaking, as it prevents hits being registered on AI until far too late, while the AI still shoots the players fine. The player desync, stutters around in movement and his weapon spools up while firing full auto. This only happens when ACE is running. This is on a hosted dedicated server for Arma, completely configured.

Yeah anywhere you can find your normal ACE3/CBA3 settings.
It's just a tab that says advanced ballistics

Hmm -- I can toggle things on and off in Addon Options for ACE while in-game as Admin, but it says it's overwritten by the server. Needa figure out how to change ..

don't know if the range is even still a thing. If it's not in the advanced ballistics settings then it's probably not a thing anymore

Nah. ACE could only cause local lags
The problem is probably because ACE generates network traffic. Which makes the Arma bug that's causing this more apparent

@wraith quarry no-one gets a solid 60fps in ALL circumstances and Arma doesn't need 60fps. When there's lots of AI, or explosions resulting in lots of destruction (think cluster bomb levelling a town or city), or your using mods or playing third party game modes with poorly written scripts these will all drag down the FPS. Arma isn't like other games, for one it's far more complex and it also uses an older engine, parts of which predate multi-core processors.
Note that badly optimised scripts running in modded game modes (KoTH, Wasteland, Life etc) are one of the biggest causes of complaints about low FPS, but by no means the only cause. The problem is that people don't realise those game modes aren't official and are mods, so they blame Arma.

(for reference, armstalker music is literally just music but we're testing around anyway)
We just disabled ALL simulation modules on ACE in the options - still the problem persisted.
The problem has been resolved from what I can tell.
A mod called Chemical Warfare was causing this desync.
Sooo.. not ACE?
We boiled it down to literally 5 mods.
ACE, CBA, A heads pack, a patches pack, and chemical warfare.
It STILL had the desync.
The moment we removed chemical warfare, it worked fine. So we went all out, enabled ALL mods except Chemical Warfare.
No desync.
We're now enabling all modules - advanced ballistics, etc etc.
See if it still works.

I don't get it. I don't understand why, but so far everything's fixed. We're testing on our main mission now.

Everything works flawlessly. For those who use Chemical Warfare ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1095745477 ), I suppose the biggest sign of me not aware of problem was that it hasn't been updated since Aug 2017, but utilized ACE and CBA. Didn't even notice it. I tried posting a comment on it but it won't let me, so I may have to message the dev himself.

You have to click on each mod in that page and download them in steam workshop. then you should be able to play without getting kicked.

start arma from steam, when the arma launcher pops up, click on servers and then on internet.
In search servers type in AWG DAYZ-EXILE, click on the server name and more details. a list of mods will show up, it will tell you if you have the mods installed and if not it will give you a link to it when you click on choose action.
You also need to add @exile to the arma launcher mod section.
Hi guys, getting an issue that has only started recently where I get severe frame drops very frequently to the point where it is unplayable, whenever I experience a frame drop my gpu usage lowers and then returns to Normal. So far I have done a reinstall and tried both vanilla and modded with no change, I also have reinstalled drivers with no good results. I have been playing for years and have never encountered anything like this.

and type in ipconfig /all
I believe it should be there
It's the default gateway
that's not your pcs internal ip though
That's just the default network one.
But if you log in to your router via that default gateway you can look around in your settings and it might list your actual internal ip

basically ive done all the steps on the arma page, but im stuck on this:

Yes hello, I downloaded the Arma 3 Server Client from steam onto my buddies server box, although he is able to connect (through LAN on his own IP) No one else is able to, in the CONFIG_server.cfg UPNP is enabled, and in te set-up it was initialized, but I am not able to find the server via Direct Connect or Internet browser.

I have set Identity in all NPCs with their own names, but when you play the game, all their names are random Greek names for Independent. This is the same case with other factions, just .. their respective name styles.

Bridges are though for the AI and if a map is made poorly theres nothing to be done
a bridge needs to be aligned right with the road to be part of the road network

@gleaming bloom @uncut trellis Tanoa bridges cause weird AI behaviour too, especially infantry. Vehicles manage to make it across as long as they don't take too much contact.

And MCC doesn't do that either, haven't seen that problem at all. What I have seen is the black screen issue caused by the mod line being too long, if you have a lot of mods then putting the mods near the top of the drive might get rid of the black screen on join.

hello, im having touble starting arma; already disabled all MODs, no Startup parameters, even turned off the overlay just the launcher starts normal. veryfied the files too, but everything seems fine until i click play in the launcher it beginns to load screen flashes as the the game tries to start... exit to desktop. no arma running in taskmanager no errorreport file. just confusion Oo

The first issues I'm having is when loading the Antistasi mission file from the server I'm running, when presented with the map and mission briefing screen I cannot hit the continue button or see the mission brief
The second issue is if I'm hosting a regular empty map, other people trying to join get a BattleEye inilization failed error
I'm inexperienced in server hosting, so that's why I tried to keep my question vague as to avoid saying something that wasn't technically correct

Anyone, I am desperate. I am running altis life but modded on another map
it was working 2 days ago, had to mess with mods and signatures tho as I put back verifySignature on and it caused issues
Now that is fixed but it wont let us load in, we see the map picture after downloading the mission and we hear sound but no RPT logs or anything to help us out so if anyone is available to help us fix that, I am willing to donate some cash for your time.

that's another thing... relay on workshop mods. those are the ones who are 100% up-to-date
The workshop content updates to the mod directory of the launcher
and if they are on the page from the original autors you are more than good with them

good, and stay away from any mod that is made by KICKASS (CSW, KA). he uses ripped models from other games. he might face a law case some time...
and again, look inside your "modpack" and check the mod prefixes for their original autors. remove all you can find on the workshop (original uploads only) and create a workshop collection. this is the only way you guys get into this safely

@wise barn I already told him a couple days ago what his issue is. A CfgFunction PostInit script is not finishing. There is no magic quick fix or easy way to just look into the RPT to fix that.
As an extra side info: Creating new BISigns for .pbo files is not a problem. By creating your own signature files you do not alter the original mod maker's content. So its all fine to create new bisigns.
^ Yeah I don't know where that one came from. You can add files to things all your want. Just not modify (or copy depending on license) existing things

theyre often broken Ive noticed. many people have problems. Latest driver installation has been the first suggestion if I recall right
