What is a "sandbox server"?
a server where you play whith 3 teams and capture areas
their are shops, sorage etc
Are those running with any mods?
Because if you're missing those assets, you will not be able to see them.

That sounds like the geometric occluders.. But that shouldn't happen with all vehicles. I can see that happening with some badly modded vehicles

But that should only happen if you are inside houses for example. not vehicles

WHICH sandbox are you using? (Because you’re using the term incorrectly). There are user made missions such as nEXaus’s Malden Sandbox, which are NOT default Sandbox modes.

Have an idea. Go to My Documents folder. And move the Arma folders to your desktop. Then try again
and you are absolutely, 100% sure the server does not run any mods?

sup yall so basicly I recently downloaded arma 3 and I installed a mod to play on an altis life server.Unforunatly every like 30mins I am getting kicked for the following reason: battle eye client not responding.Any suggestions?

sounds more like your RAM has issues, and increasing the capacity "fixed" it by not filling the bad bits yet
The problem I had was that the 64 bit built kept crashing and sometimes even bluescreening
32 bit build was fine
I used to have 4GB RAM back then
but now that I have 12GB, Arma works like charm
that doesn't change what i wrote above

I have a problem whenever i alt tab whether it be loading in or loaded in it just freezes forcing me to restart.
I have a similar problem but instead of freezing it locks to low fps after a brief freeze a fix is to go to ingame video settings and just refresh your graphic settings e.g. if your on “high” just go to video settings ingame and click on “high” again.
if its permanently frozen try testing out alt tabbing in different modes e.g. Windowed or windowless etc.

Never heard of a mission having to be autoInit compatible. Can't you just disable autoInit?

How did you rename it? Uppercase letters to lowercase by chance?
Literally just changed the mission file of "Survival.Malden" to a replica called "LastStand.Malden"
I'm not sure, but my guess is that there was a typo or something. or a incorrect uppercase or lowercase somewhere.
probably the malden was lowercase m at the time.
@quaint jewel Turns out after some investigation, seems it wasn't anything to do with the mission itself, Its when I disable persistence, e.g. mission continues while there are no players. Changing the mission file must've reset the config of the server as Persistence was re-enabled when it was working.
just disabled persistence, and it broke again.
Okay, so two issues.
First of all, does Arma 3 work with Gsync?
Secondly, if it doesn't, why does it Vsync to 60hz on a 100hz monitor?
Maybe you need to leave vsync off from within the game, and force gsync via drivers?
(i don't have a gsync monitor though, so i'm just guessing)
Well, I don't use Vsync and Gsync in the same game, I just turn on Vsync in Arma, because it doesn't seem to be working with Gsync... I will try to look up how to force it via drivers. I've never heard anything about that method.
But since Gsync doesn't seem to be working, I want to use Vsync, but for some reason, it is taking me down to 60fps, when with it off, I am getting eighty to one twenty frames.
I wish there was a Vsync option that would cap at one hundred.
Wild guess, but it's possible it only likes multiples of 60 Hz for VSync. So 60, or 120. But then again, haven't heard of this before
That's my best guess as well. I think one hundred hertz monitors are not super common.
I will try to look up how to force it via drivers
at the very least there should be an option to force vsync via drivers, if you go to 3D Settings -> set it per application

Hello all, who do I talk to about getting help with editting a Zeus mission?
Best would be to ask in every channel, so people get annoyed with you quickly and ignore you out of principle.
Have the commander turret position merged with the main gun on MBTs?
Commander turret is a sub turret of the main gun turret most of the time.
Gsync works fine for me, I have it going up above 100 fps. I think one thing I had to do was edit the Arma3.cfg file and make sure the refresh rate was set correctly (refresh=165;) and then NCP it is gsync on, vsync on and then in game vsync is off. The only issue I run into is just occasionally gsync fails to work and I get tear lines at >60fps refresh rates. Was introduced about 6 months ago with an Nvidia driver update and a system restart fixes it.

Problem is that vehicle weapons have hard coded muzzle and effect memory points, and the generic names are already used by the main gun.
So it may have to specifically be a commander turret adjusted weapon class.
addWeaponTurret is the command to look out for.
addMagazineTurret for mags and setMagazineTurretAmmo for ammo.
I know you can remove weapons from the commander turret using removeWeaponTurret
I think the path is funky though
But there's a command to get the turret paths

Hey, I know the chances of getting a response here are low, but im having an issue with one of my missions that will be played tonight. On the server, nobody can zero their weapons at all, including regular rifles and more importantly Mortars cant change elevation. I made a test map last night, in the VR map while the regular map to be played tonight is one of the ww2 Iron Front maps. The VR test map uses the same settings files and everything, and you can zero weapons as normal on it. Server settings havent been changed at all, and so im thinking it could be a map issue? Have any of you guys seen this before?
Personally, never.
Make a test mission on the actual map, to see if that's the issue. If things work on the test mission on the actual map, then the actual mission has the issue.
If so, you might want to just rewrite it from scratch and skip it for tonight.
I have a snow script enabled into it, otherwise its the same settings and such we have used for every other mission in the past. Ill do that, though if that doesnt work then im assuming its a map issue because there isn't much else that would be causing it.
The snow script might have also broken, so include that in a second test if you want to be thorough.
Ive used it before on different maps, and no issues there, though its not something that you normally like go off on a checklist of things to test, since you just assume gun zeroing will work always. Only noticed it because I hopped into the mortar slot to make sure and I couldnt adjust elevation.
hm, so yeah I loaded up last weeks mission, different map but it uses the same exact snow script, zeroing works fine on it. Ill make another test map on this one, by right now im heavily thinking its some strange ass map specific issue
hm, so I loaded up an older mission on that same map, made by a different guy. his is not affected, and zeroes fine. So its pretty much solid that something is fucked in my specific file. Guess ill resave it and see if that works. Thanks for help, its a strange issue but its been narrowed down now.
Hey don't know if this is the correct channel for this, but I have look around on the internet trying to resolve my issue and can't seem to find a solution that works. So most of the servers including all of the arma 3 official servers, I can not join due to the Didn't think to validate my files and that has seem to have fixed it different mods or missing signatures. Yet I have no mods installed and have not touched the game in a few years.

I'm have a bit of a problem with a custom mission loading. I think I made an error when I was changing something in the code, and now when I try to open it I get a "bad module info" crash. Correct. These are your errors. A rifle trying to be spawned as a vehicle already sounds suspicious

removing the whole item is bad. You'd also have to adjust the itemcount and move all other items up
But you might be able to just replace "SeekAndDestroy" by ""
And the "arifle_Mk20C_F" by "" too

We don't need to use shady ad filled filehosters.
Files can also auto-delete after one download which is good for sensitive information like IP's in logfiles that maybe not everyone should get

MGITMAN try restarting your computer. If that fails, check your internet setup including ethernet cables, any routers and modems, and the actual wires/cables inside and outside your home. I know of 2 people at least who had these issues because of damage to DSL/cable connections outside of their homes.
You're awful at writing. You said as brief as you can, but posted a wall of text, and after reading all of it I am none the wiser.
You probably made a script error somewhere.
You made a mistake somewhere. There is no guarantee that a script error message shows up when you made a syntax error. E.g. forgot closing brackets. What also could be the case is there being another script error in the mission previously to your code, aborting and breaking everything that comes after it.
It is still a wall of text and badly formatted. Me saying that you should work on the presentation of your posts is just friendly advice. It will get you better and more responses. Because more people are willing to read and understand the post.
No one will put effort into understanding a, in turn low effort post, because they're not interested in solving your problem in the first place.
Changing the operating system does nothing. You should post your script instead and check the RPT file for errors.
Can I get a TLDR? That stuff is hard to read. Debug console execute buttons unavailable? Are you on a Server? Do you have the rights required to use the debug console? Any mod's that might break it?
Putting the script inside a pastebin would also help quite a bit, I believe.

I have recently started an exile server. On it we have infistar, infistar xm8 apps and a custom statusbar. All of these 3 work fine for a little while but after some time, some people lose some functions in infistar (everyone have the same permissions) and some lose the xm8 apps while others can still see them. The custom statusbar also disapears for some people while others still have it. If I wipe the server database then it works perfectly normal for everyone and everyone can see and use everything. So I just launched a new update for my server, but when people try to join. They get stuck on Receiving Data, I can join myself.
I think it's something with the mission, which won't load for them.
Soo it's around 50% of the players that got the problem.

is the mission file using the respawn module in editor associated with zeus? If you have the respawn module down without changing the gamemode to a "zeus" gamemode then it could be screwing with it

We are trying to work it out, the people with the problems are trying to re-download the mods. Because some people can and a few people cannot
Get the people with problems to shorten the overall path length to the mod directory. You are more than likely blowing past the windows command line limit and some of the mods aren't getting loaded on those peoples machines. Windows 7 also has a lower limit than Windows 10 and that may also be a factor.

Do keep in mind as well that not all mods play well together, so even though you may eventually fix this problem, you will most likely run into other problems down the line.

it kicks me off like 60 seconds after joining a game
You can either wait for the server your joining to restart or restart your router
its a battleye issue thats been around forever and has yet to be fixed

Is there a know issue of long loading times for Missions actually? Because i have a Map only a few Vehicles and one player placed and after 15 Minutes i was use Alt+F4, no Scripts no Errors or anything at all.
@patent flint Something is causing script errors or you have mod errors. Check your RPT. You could also be missing assets that are required by the scenario
Im having an issue when playing a Scenario from the editor on all my missions. When i hit play, the mission creates a new temperary file, it replaces the name as well. Example, Original name: "Mission1", after hitting play the new file it creates is "~mission1". This file is then deleted after the mission ends. Nothing related to SQFs is carried over as well. As a result i cannot play the mission with the needed files.

after you exported it in mp (from the editor started in mp), you will need rejoin the host, then you can play it...
i exited editor, hosted from menu and created the game, it launches but its litterally creating a copy of the mission file when i hit play, and using that instead of the original and renaming it as well.
Example "Test mission", after i hit play i see in my missions folder a new mission created without any sqf folders, but with the mission sqm named "~test mission"
When the mission ends. "~test mission" is for some reason deleted

Arma can't host missions from a folder. All your editor editable missions are folders.
Arma first has to create a temp pbo that it can send to clients. Which is apparently where it goes wrong for you.
Just create the pbo by yourself so that Arma sends that instead of building something by itself
no additional addons present, but this doesnt really solve my issue, its a work around. I cant test missions and scripts without being a hassle, i appretiate it though guys.

If you can't make do with the workaround, you should probably kick this up to the #arma3_feedback_tracker site and open a ticket - making and attaching a recording of the issue there will get you the best help for this.

@dusky hill It happens when the player logs into the server. Does not happen 100% of the time, I would say approx 75% of the time. The mods we use Exile 1.0.4, Extended Base Mod, CBA_A3, CUP Units, CUP Weapons, CUP Vehicles, NIArms, RHSAFRF, RHSUSAF,RHSGREF,RHSSAS, Enhanced Movement.
Optional Mods: All JSRS Sound Packs.
Sounds like a mod Conflict something only in control of the mod devs, try running some vanilla missions on the server. See what happens.

basically, I cannot ALT look around, it shift runs auto when i hold W, Combat stance doesn't work, Window key spams on cars and etc even though I only press the windows key 1 time, if I do a combat stance (CTRL + A) and i let go of CTRL it will still act as if I am holding it down and will do all combat stances if I try to move about

My joystick isn't nearly as sensitive as the wasd keys.
Adjusting sensitivity ingame hasn't helped.
Tilting left and rightin the chopper is twice as slow as wasd
I had this issue, clear your joystick's control binds and rebind them.
Another joystick (whether it exists or not) is probably also bound to the same binds, but is not being used. It's weird.
I have the same issue @lyric prism . I thiiiiink it started when I tried disabling sticky keys. Something to do with Shift. Movement would always toggle on after using my PTT pause. Changed the PTT and it mostly went away, but unconfirmed. I’ll let know if I ever solve it haha
I have seen it as well, happened in last weeks game. I kind of messed about for a bit and regained control, got stuck moving and pushing left seemed to be part of the resolution. I think it is a relatively rare bug that has been about since Alpha.

When playing ArmA3, in basically 70% of the vehicles (air, land, many copters too), I hear no engine sound. It is just WAY TOO LOUD in ext view but not in 1st person. I mean, on a quad I can hear birds singing LOL

@torpid violet there is no "the can't read memory issue". There are hundreds of different ones. And potentially even millions. And the error message doesn't tell you which one
@fringe salmon @abstract scaffold The issue you described is caused by "router exhaustion" a.k.a bad router. In other words, some (usually cheaper) routers become overwhelmed by the excessive ping requests that the server browser makes. The solution to the issue is to lower pings per minute setting in general Steam settings (from 5000 to like 1500 at least) and/or to get better router that doesn't have the issue

I’m guessing what im about to say is “Troubleshooting” but when I go into the Arma 3 Zeus, all my mods will show. And when I place a character down then place the Zeus game master and go into that part of the editor. Half of my mods are not showing up for some odd reason. And I’ve been tryin to figure it out. Earlier today maybe a few hours ago, it actually loaded all my mods (that I saw) correctly. But when I restarted the game and went back in to test and see if it did it again. It didn’t. Client not responding is a pretty generic error.
It is (usually) a connection error, such as high latency
Windows cannot access the device/file error - Literally a bunch of us just got the issue today

Hello I am having an issue with the Chernarus 2035 mod, a server I'm on is running it but I can't seem to load into it, it keeps giving me a signature mismatch. I'm the only person on the server who is getting a signature mismatch. I can load the map in the editor and on my client but not on the server
I have downloaded the map from Steam and Armaholic and neither work

Your problem lies with the client data not matching the server data in some way or another
A steam download always has the possibility to be corrupt, redownload on the client end and see if that changes anything
you could try and use the launcher to attempt to repair the mod, but I have never got it to work

Okay, unsubscribe and delete the data with the mod. Redownload it and see if that works
if it doesn't it'll likely be a oudated or corrupt version on the server
but you say other players are able to join just fine, so it sounds like your client could be outdated or corrupted

When you unsubscribe in the launcher you can be given the option to delete the data with it. Unsubscribing just in the steam client I believe only removes the subsription from your account and no files are to be deleted yey

Make sure you select the option to delete files with the unsubscribe
as well as check the !workshop folder in your a3 root installation to make sure the data was purged
from there, you can then subscribe again and it should redownload everything

I'm fairly sure it's a known issue, though I've seen no acknowledgement from BI or BE myself. A lot (i.e., hundreds, if not thousands) of players are having the same issue, myself included. It's probably related to the latest BE Update.

So I have this issue where I'm getting booted from servers by battleye a few minutes after joining in. "client not responding" error. Except my game client is responding just fine. My current guess is that the battleye process is siezing behind the scenes. I've reinstalled it, and even reinstalled the whole game. It still hasn't fixed it.

Other players cannot hear me in game in all channels. My mic works fine in everything else I use a mic for such as other games, discord and skype. I have been searching the internet to try and find a solution to this problem but none of the common solutions posted on forums work for me. BTW my mic is my default device and Steam successfully picks up my mic. I have tried running steam as administrator. I have updated and uninstalled then reinstalled my drivers as well and my mic still wont work in game chat. Can any help me?

granted yeah... It expects that you have some basic knowledge about how command line works. And that you can figure out yourself that you shouldn't be trying to run the linux binary on windows
But mikeros tools don't teach you how to open a command line either. And mikero doesn't ship linux binaries so they don't have that "problem".. Though as a windows user you should be able to figure out that you usually run .exe's and not files without any extension.
If someone has enough knowledge to build whole mod, as the tool creator I would expect that my users have also basic console knowledge TBH.

you can also (as I did personally) rename armake_w64.exe to just armake.exe and copy it into your windows folder. Then you can just run armake on the commandline
it is becouse windows folder is in PATH by default
personally don't like that he packaged it as 32 and 64bit. Instead of just having one armake.exe in the download
but it is a bad practive in general
yeah n1, i've already set up a simple path now for it to run in future
one last question (don't stone me to death for heresy) is it possible to make signs for a bunch of pbos at the same time? it doesn't see mt owork off just a folderpatch, (unlike say moveobject which i do love to bits)

It's similar on W7 but there is no fancy folder browser
so far taken me 3 hours to make one bisign lol
these tools (dsutils, pboproject and armake) are not really user freiendly if you have an issue, but wha tcan you expect when they are free (although i paid for pboproject)

They are tools for doing very specific task usually.
developers main skill is teaching them how things work ^^
Though a designer is not a developer. And a designer also usually doesn't have to teach himself stuff
Also developer tools are made by developers for developers and developers usually dont like to write too much documentation. 😄

yeah i'm not especially pleased at having to lose a day learning this process. the BI tools DSUtil have a function to select a whole folder, or multiple folders and create signs. however they refuse to work with my privatekey due to what appears to be some administrator issue related to windows.
i'm thinking if i could work out how to fix that it may be easier than editing windows path functions and learning code writing lol

i moved the pbos to K:\uns_sign\

i always thought that puttung a space in arma install folder name was bad mistake, same with arma 2 and operation arrowhead

ok so i can make signs, but now i cannot connect without getting kicked.

any idea why it would reject me for every signature?
do i need to rebuild the server key also?

i'm a little confused about these privatekeys. so i made the signs on the server, using the privatekey there.
but i did not recreate the bikey, which already existed in the server keys folder.
do i need to make a new bikey?
there is one bikey per privatekey
if you used the old privatekey you don't need new bikey

and whe ni connect i get kicked for failed sig check
there is a tool in the Arma 3 Tools that takes your bikey, pbo, bisign to check if the sig matches
