I’m trying to get my Ace Arsenal into my Hosted server, I keep getting the basic stuff from civil war times lol how do I add the Ace so I can use my Ace Arsenal loadout and that way my server has it for my company? Idk if this is the right tab for it. But worth a shot

Assuming you have Ace installed already, place any kind of object, like an ammo box, and then go to modules/systems and there should be something akin to an “add arsenal” module, and then just hover with it over the object you placed and click on it
That should add an Ace arsenal to that object accessible via the Ace interaction menu
Oh right, but that’s in Zeus, in the Eden editor you need to right click on the object that will serve as your arsenal and type in a command/script in the init box, let me find it

I tried without mods, already reinstall the OS and game.
Also some time ago I tried to change sound frequency in Windows sound settings and this helps for 1 or 2 game launches, then stutters return. All drivers are updated.

Just by the name I would suspect 'Death and hit reactions'. But I have not played with that one or the majority of mods in that list. But it is short enough to test which one causes it by disabling a mod and try to play it.

hello.. need help with my arma3 when trying to host and selecting a map like malden2035 or altis there's suppose to be missions in there right? but all i see is <<New 3D Editor>> and firing range in Altis. im trying to run antistasi the mod but it doesnt show up in any of the maps
Altis has missions. Modded maps don't necessarily have any

It is possible. I play it with Antistasi Community edition and ACE. Just make sure you use the official ACE and the official ACE No Medical
At first i thought kat medical was not supported so i was looking for ace no medical but when @golden nova gave me the link and found out the kat was supported i switched to original ace instead

The trouble with ACE and Antistasi is that ACE will override the medical behaviour of AI. And they tend to not help you as much when you are down. If you want to get back in the fight with medical assistance then you are better of using the official ACE No Medical, as then Antistasi uses vanila healing mechanics and the AI actually saves your arse.

Mods need to be saved into a server install as a mod folder, then you write the mod folder in the -mod= parameter like -mod="@mod1;Mod2;Modsdontneedtobeginwith@;someadditionalfolder\mod3"
The double quotes around it is incase any of your mod folders containing a space anywhere in the name.

Yes, that would be the easiest. You can put them all inside one central folder, but then you need to add that path to all the mods in the -mod= parameters. That is kinda long in the tooth.
NO, Addons is specifically only Bohemia content territory. Don't touch that with mods.

I would expect one. Don't know for sure. But you don't want to use so many mods that you get near that limit. But I guess if they have really long names.

FYI, all mods are stored in folder with just numbers in the name. Equal to the ModID number on Steam.
Okay so in the same directory as the server exe, I created a folder called "Mods" and then added to the target line "mod=@CBA_A3;@ace;@Antistasi;@Blastcore;@C2;@CUPWeapons;@EnhancedMovement;@EnhancedSoundscape;@JSRS;JSRSDPF;@LootingEnhanced;@ReducedHaze;@TacticalPositionReady;@WMO"
Which all correspond to the exactly named folder in "Mods" but they aren't working

You would have to prefix every mod in that parameter with Mods\nameofmod for that to work

That is normal, the mods need to be processed by the game.
Though, you might need to login as admin to it first and actually start an Antistasi campaign.

On the supposed 'loading screen', open the chat menu and type #login youradminpassword
Then type in #missions

Then probably the mods didn't completely load. The game/server should make a log file ending in RPT. It is usually in the folder where the server profile is stored.

You might want to create a batch file with the commandline in it. Much easier to edit than the shortcut with a tiny text field.

I would suggest whatever.cmd.

You can also use the parameter -profiles=ProfileFolderName
It should automatically make the profile folder and put the profile files in there. Including the RPT next time you start it.

Just find any using *.rpt pattern.
It probably still saves it in your Appdata folder somewhere. Check for a recent RPT file in C:\Users\whatEverYourWIndowsUsername\AppData\Local\Arma 3
Well, your game saves an RPT there too. So make sure you distinguish between game and server RPT.
At the end of that file it shows a table with a list of all mods you told it to load. That indicates if the mods were found or not. Antistasi and CBA are found correctly here.

Start the server. It should have only 4 lines in that text on the window.

Then you open the game, join your server.
Open the text chat, write #login yourAdminpassword (Enter)

Ok, next you want to add a mission cycle to the server config file to automatically load the scenario. So you don't have to do the admin thing everytime (though you can if you want to play something else)

It has an example of the mission cycle, and you need to change the name in the template line for whichever terrain you want to play Antistasi The Mod on. And maybe edit the autoLoadGame parameter in it too.

When you have that reliably working after server restarts then I suggest you play around with addition mods. Check if they are properly found with a folder location shown in that RPT table.

That last one is usually caused by loading SOG on the client but not on the server.
It's because I forgot the @ at the beginning of the mod, fixed it

Oh so just disable that dlc
ACE has automatic addon loading for a lot of stuff these days, so if you load mods or CDLC that aren't on the server then you get those errors.
Yes, I wouldn't enable any creatorDLC that you are not going to play or need in the game.

You need to forward ports 2302-2306 UDP to the server machine, and make sure armaserver_x64.exe is permitted to accept incoming UDP connections by the firewall.
On some internet connections it may not be possible because the ISP doesn't give you a real IPv4.

If there's a distinction between the WAN IPv4 visible to the router and googling "what's my ip" then you're on CGNAT and it won't work.

And I would just let the game host on the default port. Then the IP is the only thing specific to yours.
virtual LAN software like hamachi/radmin/zerotier is the last resort, yeah. They often don't work for complicated reasons though.

Ok, your router uses network address translation (NAT) to translate one external (WAN, wide area network) IPv4 to multiple internal (LAN, local area network) IPv4s.
Every machine on your local network will have a different LAN IP. Or possibly multiple, if they connect with more than one interface.
But you only have one WAN IP, which is only visible in the router UI.

That is the trouble with Arma relying on this stuff for co-op play.
The IP you see in a CMD window and the Ipconfig command is only your LAN side addresses. It doesn't know about the WAN/Internet side that your router got. That is why you need to ask Google/whatsmyIP sites.

It might show a DNS server address that is not inside your LAN, but that would then be of your internet server provider or something.
hey guys, so I've been having this problem for 2 days now with no apparent fix for it being found. So I was playing Arma as usual, and decided to install the standalone blastcore alongside a realistic sound mod, I then loaded them up and joined the game. I usually get 55-60 fps on the game, but it suddenly dropped down to 2-3 FPS with no apparent spikes, it just remained at that. I unsubscribed from the mods and unloaded them, still 2-3 FPS. I decided to reinstall the entire game, still the same; but now the fps is 5-6. I unsubscribed from all of the mods in the workshop that I had and tried to run it again, and its still at the same fps. I verified integrity aswell and the files are fine, whats the issue here

What sort of hardware is this? That sort of FPS is more like it's not using the GPU.
Currently playing on a laptop but it's really strange bc I still get 55 to 60 fps on a good day but it never drops down to below 20

@umbral narwhal So I just ran arma 3 for 10 mins, same fps problem: checked in task manager and here's the thing: I'm using integrated graphics which is 100% do-able but I think that it might be a problem with my ram, idk how much I currently have available and alot of people are saying to have 8gb ram if you're using integrated. Task manager is showing cpu consumption as 100% right as I open arma I'm not sure about gpu consumption. I'll probably clear out my laptop and see what's using up so much of my cpu, it's already 50 to 60% before I launch arma

Arma is using 80 to 90% cpu usage not 100 my bad
And around the same for gpu usage, gpu usage is also 81%
So this is getting strange now cus the cpu usage is like 42% and the gpu usage is 90 to 100

first remove any faction mods, and test it one by one.
or remove 50% first, then check if the first 50% is fine then try the second 50%, do this until you found the problematic mod

Faster just starts the server with a commandline. Stuff can happen that causes it not to be found.
Well, that is a sign it is not ok. But post the entire file, not just a screenshot. This is like key-hole vision.
Yeah, start with getting your server running with just TFAR on a Bohemia Interactive made scenario. One of the default ones. No mods yet.
Besides, mixing RHS+3CB and CUP Units/Vehicles is going to be an issue with incompatible damage stats.

I'm running into a recurring problem on my modification of the dynamic "Hearts&Minds" mission.
From time to time, players will connect, slot, enter the mission but find themselves without a group. As in their playable unit appears under the "empty" category in the Zeus interface's left side.
Effects of this issue include:
- affected player has no ACE Nametag above their head, can't join other groups, nor can other players join the affected player's (non-existent) group.
- affected player can't open the UAV terminal or connect to UAVs.
When using the Dynamic Groups framework (initialized in either way, with and without registering existing groups), affected players can "create" a group, which will then have the same name of the editor-defined group their slot was part of.
Creating a group will resolve usage of the UAV terminal and nametags, but unfortunately cause a weird desync. The affected player will be duplicated one or more times in the Dynamic Groups UI, with one of the instances being part of the "correct" group, and others being shown under empty. The duplicates are also visible in the Zeus "Teleport player" module's list.
Often when sitting in a vehicle, the desync causes the affected player to repeatedly be teleported to coordinates [0,0] (bottom-left map corner), separated by decreasing intervals of 30s -> 5s. The first few times the player is also teleported back into his original seat, but as it goes on eventually he won't return from [0,0]. Teleporting him back into the vehicle via Zeus will only work for 5-20s.
I still have no clue what actually causes the issue, we're not encountering it in any other mission. The mission itself is well maintained and others do not appear to be having an issue with it.
What could cause such desyncs?
you need Teamspeak 3, as TS5 does not support TFAR plug in
One very important thing to note is that TS 5 doesn’t support plugins, you have to get the older TS 3, the one with the ancient UI
Another thing is that mods like Acre just don’t work with Teamspeak if you don’t run it as admin
I’ve never had any issues, I’m guessing people with older hardware might struggle with worse loading times but that’s it; the Community Faction Project is also a good mod that you might end up getting at some point, so I’ll let you know in advance that what you will find is that the otherwise great Ukrainian Faction Project, by design, does not work with the Community Faction Project as it features a Wagner faction

I had to redownload TFAR 1.0.355 from github as the one installed "shit itself" and couldn't even be opened anymore for some reason. After that it worked.

TFAR has open security constraints that lets it connect just fine and doesn't need admin.

Hi friends, I am having trouble keeping my CBA settings presist through restarts. I've done everything mentioned in Userconfig here

the settings i've changed are unchangeable as they should be, but the settings themselves are incorrect. I set uncon wakeup chance to 80% but its 40%
My userconfig loaded correctly and in my userconfig it does have the right settings as shown here
Any ideas? I generally edit major settings as force through server instead of mission. I want it to persist after restarts otherwise someone has to load them in everytime.

Are you running the server with filePatching? It needs that to properly load userconfig/cba_settings.sqf.

CBA doesn't have an extension so I'm not sure how else they'd do it. Generally you need filepatching to load files directly.

I'm currently having a problem trying to host internet MP games to my friends I've done it in the past and still do everything accordingly, but when ever I wait in the lobby for my friends to join they say "they cannot see" the server in the friends server listing is there a fix to this?

To host a server or a game session locally, you need to make sure first that your WAN address / external IP uses the IPv4 protocol!
Check your router’s status page in the settings to confirm. (If in doubt, ask your ISP, Websites like “whatismyip.com” give you a false positive!)
Local servers and games can not be hosted on an IPv6 network, or IPv4 via DSlite tunnel!

Once you have confirmed that your connection uses the IPv4 protocol, you need to manually open / forward the ports 2302-2306 UDP (https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3:_Dedicated_Server#Port_Forwarding)

the port forwarding may need to be renewed occasionally
or your if your internet connection has changed it may have become incompatible IPV6 type

Hi all, I'm new to ARMA 3, I have issue with the game tried everything but there is no sound, i updated everything windows/drivers/directx/dlls but nothing helps
Have you set volume to 0 /muted the game in the audio mixer? have you turned your audio device volume knob to 0? are you starting the game with -nosound startup parameter?
Every other program has sound, chrome, windows, everything :/
have you tried clicking "refresh" below the output device in the audio options
also are you loading any mods while trying to fix this or any custom parameters

The guy in the feedback thread had the same issue (and worked in 32-bit) but could only fix it with a windows reinstall.

I'm having a weird issue: I'm hosting a dedicated server and when playing with friends no one else can hear my gunshots or see my IR laser. Could it be some weird locality issue? They hear each other's gunshots and see each other's lasers, but no one hears mine and I cannot hear theirs. I am however able to see their lasers, but they dont see mine. (im using the same mods and items as them in case anyone's thinking im using a mod they dont have).

Arma 3 relies on it due to - iirc - lack of support combo keys (which is not a problem anymore) but yeah you have to rebind

Hello there, fellow arma 3 enjoyers ! I have a problem. I have made about 2 months back a couple of custom markers (flags to be specific) to use in one of my mission. Since then I have forgotten about it as it did not work as intended on the dedicated server. So I have though nothing of it. Then came a day I wanted to join a rather large star wars unit to enjoy some large scale combat. They have their own dedicated servers with whitelist which forbids entry to anybody with mods that dont match up with what they want. So I get booted because I have "Markers" mod or such. After reading it I remember about the flags and go trough both MPmission pbo's deleting most of them, deleting mission files themselves, validating files and even reinstalling the whole game. Then this morning I decide to join again, to try if it worked. Of course it didnt ! So I have came here to ask anybody who has some kind of experience with this...to lend me their wisdom on how to pull these markers out of the depths of arma...
TLDR: Need custom made markers removed from my arma, but I dont know how to go about doing that. Since all other known options to me failed.

Righto, launched the game again and joined the server to generate a fresh rpt. What should I be looking for ?

addon can be loaded in only by few methods
you have put the pbo in the Arma 3\addons folder

since that folder is meant for games own files only
or you have it selected in the mod list in the launcher

either you have a mod or script that breaks it, or thhe MCC itself is just bugged

hey so a friend of mine is having a na issue and i cannot find anywhere to help so i thought i would ask here here is the problem

Only change in system I can definitely confirm it started after I used my Bluetooth Headphones (HyperX Cloud Alpha 2)
Seems to happen with random units from the Eden Editor selection, as well as our composition. Some Units from there work, others do not.
Already checked my RAM, CPU and GPU and SSD for errors, nothing came back positive, all other games run fine.
Running Arma in 32-Bit at least allows me to run eden editor, but it doesn't seem to handle our Modpack that well.
Already tried to:
- Check Hardware for errors - all negative
- Re-Install the game / mods
- Delete new drivers/Use old ones
- Verify files
- -malloc=system (also adding the amount of memory, in this case 16GB)
- setting amount of GPU cores in the Arma Launcher Parameters, as well as Hyperthread and related settings
- Remove Bluetooth Headphones+Drivers and use different ones
- delete appdata/local/arma3 Folder
- delete profiles folder in Documents
- manually delete all mods and re-download
- uninstall / reinstall directx11 (edited)

I just copied all of the ACE files from my client to the server
That means that you're loading the RHS mods on the client but not the server.
ACE automatically loads compats for mods that you're loading.

My friend is having problem with playing game without mod/dlc. Arma 3 launches with contact DLC and mods nomatter what he does.
1.Play without mods button, 2. Startup parameters 3.Report files is all inspected.
Weird thing is when he start without mod but mod+dlc is loaded, report files says there is no any mods loaded.

Arma doesnt like changing audio in/outputs. Sometimes to the point of crashing, but usually just not accepting the in/out being reconnected.

I initially got pbo manager in a file without running installer. I could open pbo manager and use it like this but it iddnt create context menu. Once i actually ran the isntaller context thing popped up. leaving this here in case it might help someone later

Have a quick question if anyone has the time. I set up a server using host havoc and pretty much everything is ready to go. A friend of mine tried to join but he couldn't since he is missing Western Sahara and Reaction Forces. From my understanding you can play on servers without those cdlc's as long as it isn't an overhaul like SOG or Iron Curtain.
Checked the server.cfg and they don't have a line in for that exact issue, asked support and they kinda gave me a shrug.
Depends on what terrain it is playing. If it is on Sefrou Ramal then he needs Western Sahara.
He will need the compatibility mods for non-buyers for those CDLC loaded to even see WS or RF content.
In my experience you could always play on servers even if you were missing dlc like jets or marksman.
You can "use" them too if you don't mind ads.

And your server needs to be on the CDLC branch. with the ws and rf CDLC folder loaded as a mod.
I've done that part, switch branch and list in the mod section.

I don't know what is causing that X in the launcher. But he needs something for those CDLCs missing on his system. I can only assume your server is set up properly to play with those CDLCs.

I've tested the scenario a couple of times now, the dlc items are there and everything is fluid.
And no, there is no distinction between certain CDLC being overhaul versus not. Players need the bought CDLC or the compatibility mod.
The issue is that the launcher is telling him he needs the cdlcs to join but that also isn't true. There are servers you can join with missing dlcs you just can't use the items without ads.
I'll try that i suppose, i just don't know what to do about the launcher stonewalling him from joining

I know where it is thankfully, I also see the workshop mod literally says it contains keys. This should help, gonna test it rq.

The compat mods should have the same signature verification keys as the DLCs loaded by the server. So if you load those CDLCs as mods, then you don't need to also load the compatibility mods for them on the server. Afaik.

Probably a router bug then. You could try updating the firmware but UPNP isn't used much so you're probably stuck with it.
Alternatively, try running without UPNP the second time. The forwarding rule might still be active.

Well, consider learning how to manually set up the port forwarding in the router. That should remain static until the router config is reset to factory defaults. Also consider figuring out how to reserve the IP address for your server computer in the router config menus. (or any other device for that matter if the IP in your lan is important to you)

Does anyone know where the RPT error y (268435456) out of range <0, 256) might be coming from? It only occurs immediately before a status access violation crash, usually (but not always) as the last line in the RPT before the crash. I can't seem to trace it back to any one bit of my code, as removing various bits only adjusts the frequency of it occuring.
Going off of Dedmen's analysis of a previous issue it might be related to spawning objects way out of bounds, but that would be weird for this scenario since it only occurs when running my scripts, and it crashes about 30 seconds after running my init scripts so no objects would (probably?) be created at that time [some are moving, but they shouldnt be going outside the map...]

Right Click on game -> Properties -> Installed Files -> Verify Integrity of game files

Steam Workshop Mod repair process:
Open Launcher -> Right Click on mod -> Repair
The first process will automatically verify Steam Workshop items as well.

I have a recurring error on my Windows setup. Arma 3 has had a hard lock (this can be various things) resulting in a black screen. I can Alt+tab and view my various windows. But if I select one, then the screen remains black. I can press the Win key to open the start menu, but anything I select from it, that opens a window (eg Task Manager, Command prompt, Run dialog), is also black. Troubleshooting notes: I have obviously tried selecting the X in the top right of the window. And Alt+F4. I have also successfully quit Steam from the Task Manager.

alt-O opens the options menu, space ticks the first entry, which is the always-on-top option.
Any idea why this happens, only happens with Dynamic Lights on Ultra or Extreme, anything below works just fine, map is lythium, didn't seem to see that happen in any other map and oddly enough i couldn't catch this happening outside of my built base but could be just bad luck not capturing it anywhere else

Obviously you need task manager selected as the active window.

Ok i found the culprit but this is so weird
The thing that was causing me problems was the Camp Lantern [on]
removing them fixed the issue, even if i removed every other light source but left them there, the bug would persist,
and oddly enough, this ONLY works to me, in my unit ~13 people i'm the only one having this issue, i tried the same settings as some of them and it still persisted,
the weirdest of all? placing them via zeus doesn't give me problems but placing them via editor do, why? ArmA i guess? but that only happens to me, it's so weird in so many levels
and all of that only works if my Dynamic Lights is set to Ultra or higher, while on Very high it works just fine

I don't recall this happening to me regarding the camp light but when I change the time to night and fly around with flashlight on in Editor, objects can flicker too
well in the video up there i was still, also works outside of zeus but yeah, i don't think it would be that, and the thing is that it is the camp lights in specific, deleting everything but them still causes it
can confirm it still happens on the peformance branch
all i know it is the camp lantern, any other light source doesn't seem to cause it, and it makes sense i mean all the flickering objects are illuminated by it

Because it first downloads whatever mod to a seperate place. Before it extracts the contents of it. So effectively it takes twice the space (temporarily). So if Windows says you have total free space remaining at 120-ish GB, then Steam halves that to 60-ish. But I wouldn't use that as a free license to download 60GB worth of mods. Windows needs a bit of breathing room for virtual memory/swapspace, hibernation file and the processing of any outstanding updates.
So you are not in trouble yet, but your download horizon is in sight.

i have an issue with a specific custom faction that used to work just fine before and im wondering if anyone else experienced it
for some reason, its like the gunner seat in vehicles doesnt exist, and some vehicle turrets also have a visible static muzzle flash coming from it
i have established the following:
- happened after the latest big update
- worked just fine before this update
- its only these factions specifically in a specific preset i am using
- the parent vehicles do not have this issue
does anyone have an idea what this is and how to fix it or do i have to remake the factions entirely?
Do you mean by removing them as a team member, or the squad radar itself?

Hi! I hope this is the right place to ask... I try to log into the official ARMA3 KOTH stress-test (EU) #00x server, which is running Sa-Matra v17, but I get this error, almost all the times, but I still have not been able to get what changes between the times I can log and the ones I can't. As an additional info I could say my connection isn't particularly fast, it's in the range from 2Mbps to 7Mbps. One thing I've noticed is that everytime I got this error the package it's downloading is not yet fully retrieved. And one time it was completed after I got the error but still refused to start.
I checked the files via Steam and everything is fine, I enabled the Performance profiling in the Betas, and I can play Combat Patrol, Escape, Warlord, or other KotH servers, like the ArmAKotH's ones or the CodeFourGaming's ones [which are running v16]... Just can't log into this specific server. Any ideas of what it could be [or what I've to do]? Thanks in advance.

So i have setup my own server without a HC and tested 6 vs 6 infantry divisions + arty + 3 tanks on each side with about 1000 simple opject
Server FPS do not go down even 1 FPS (from constant 47FPS) but my FPS in-game are dropping from 200+ to about 20 - how to fix this? How can it be that the server does not drop, but i drop?
Tested it with a server run locally on my PC, and a Server about 150km away from my home - same result - bandwidth is fine with 100mb/s

it is not a "playing" mod at all, you get rid of it as soon as you're finished making the mission. It should not be loaded playerside or serverside

Being at the main base i get about 200 FPS, going to the city with the US flag i get about 140 FPS (only about 10 units there) - beware, this mission needs Spearhead 1944

wait if you look at AI and you get drops then it must be tied to their models
AI calculations, firing and other stuff is done whether you look at them or not.

If i look at the "battle" my FPS drop from 140 to about 28 FPS - once one side is completely "dead" and i delete their bodies, my FPS stay at about 90 FPS with about 25 units still alive from one side and not doing anything - deleting them my FPS go up to 110 FPS

mods are being loaded as soon as you press Play in the launcher.

YAAB only uses vanilla assets so you can probably rule out equipment/faction mods.
YAAB doesn't have a ton of AIs in it, so that's a big hit.
You should build presets for specific missions rather than having a single preset for everything. I marked mods you can remove and start from there because they are either utter garbage or I have never used them personally in last 5 years (so they probably are shit too, lol). Dunno what's below project SFX remastered but it probably says "RetroThings" and is some ass compilation of stuff, so I marked it too.

units with models hidden and disabled simulation have lesser performance impact than simulated units yes

Hi everyone! I've tried again with #perf_prof_branch disabled and I yesterday was able to log on KotH server two times with no problems, but today here we are again with the init_debug.sqf not found error.

One thing I've noticed is that today I see the loading bar of "receiving mission file" [which still stops before complete loading] while yesterday I didn't see it. 🤔

if you saw tehe mission file bar it means it downloaded a new copy of mission off the server and replaced whatever was before in your cache folder

Yes, because when I got the error it hasn't fully downloaded the mission, yet
if you go to C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Local\Arma 3\MPMissionsCache is the mission there? You could try deleting it and reconnect again
I deleted both the Malden and Altis maps for that server and tried to connect again, but I'm always getting the init_debug.sqf not found error and no new file has been created in said directory.

I've been running into an issue of my Dedicated Server .exe crashing with 0xc0000005(Access violation). I usually run it with mods, but it does crash even in vanilla(might not be the same reason though, not sure).

RHS tanks don't die to RHS missiles either IME

Like if you fire a Javelin at a frontal M1 it just hits the gun mantle and does nothing.
And the hellfires don't damage them consistently either.

The behaviour's consistent enough. A lot of the vehicles will only take significant damage if you hit relatively small weakpoints. The missile hits dead center and misses everything vital.
