there is a radical way to fix this by deleting the files stated on that error text, and then verify game files so it will redownload the files back.

You might get similar error messages when joining a server with mods enabled on your side that the server doesn't allow. But these files are DLC content that belong in a vanila install. Some how they ended up being out-dated or corrupt on your system.

Game "freezes" when trying to delete certain Virtual Arsenal loadouts
As the title says, I have a problem trying to delete certain loadouts from my Virtual Arsenal preset loadouts. I can select and load that loadout just fine, but if it's obsolete or something I don't want to play as anymore, I delete it—or try to. When I click "Delete" on the loadouts menu, a warning pops up asking me if I want to delete that loadout. This is where the problem occurs: I can click "Delete" or "Cancel" but it just stops there. The game will continue to run normally and even play the button clicking sound whenever I click either button, but it stops there—I can't click "Delete" nor "Cancel" and I can't even exit out of that. The only way I can get out of that is to Alt+F4 the game.
Now, incidentally, I've found my profile location, but I don't know how to open them or if I can even remove the offending loadouts from it.
- Try without Mods first
- If it doesn't work, you can use some script commands to do the trick

I believe those loadouts are saved in your profile's profilename.vars.arma3profile. You can't really edit that to remove them so easily. It is a binarized file and may contain other scenario and mod data that you may corrupt if you do. I heard there are some tools to de-binarize that file. But I never done that. So don't know what you need for that.
Make sure you don't have a dedicated server and your game access the same profile to start it up. It will get into a file access conflict. Force the dedicated server (if you have that) to start with it's own profile.
You're answering overcomplicatedly. It's quite very easy to modify via profileNamespace setVariable ["brabra",something]
Well, that requires coding/SQF knowledge. For us mere mortals that only know basic file handling that is magic.
I was merely explaining that there is little point, or could be great harm, in opening the file with a text/hex editor if you don't know what you are doing.
At most you could rename the file as a means to backup and let the game create a new one. To verify if you can save and delete new loadout profiles in a brand new.
you can also unbinarize and binarize the file after manual edits, but that needs some more advanced knowledge too.
I got a small issue in regards to starting up arma.
Whenever i try and start the game, it greets me with the crash message, and with the error code 0x00000035, and the Battleye log says that it blocked the loading of vstdlib_s64.dll - What am i supposed to do?

Make sure you have set verifySignature=2; in the server config file. Then make sure each known mod you want has their keys copied into the Keys folder on the server. Then anyone joining with other not accepted mods (when there is no .bikey file for it) will be denied to join.
Some mods will not have keys prepared by it's creator. Then you may consider signing them yourself (and distribute the .bikey files to the other players) or loose the mod entirely.

cool, so essentially, I have built out a couple of missions for my unit over the past couple weeks, playing them every sunday, I uploaded this weeks mission to the dedicated server and jumped on to test it. I have run into an issue where the mission will not load under any circumstances, all it does is load for a little bit, before kicking me back to the mission select screen. the logs are entirely inconclusive to what might be causing it. There are no mod errors, and both client and server RPT files are empty of any errors. Only thing I can think of is a line reading "was unit a player? false"

Create a new profile. The first one is hardcoded to use windows username iirc

Your primary profile is based on your Windows/operating system account name. You can't change that in Arma 3. If you want some other name you need to make a secondary profile. Hover over the pawn icon top right of the main screen, and click on the name to get to profile selection. Be aware Arma 3 profiles have seperate keybinds, saves and stored mod settings. So you may need to set them again to your liking. Also they are stored in slightly different places on your drive.
I have no idea what could be causing this, but when ever I load up Arma 3 it seems to be trying to connect me to a server?

if no then you have a mod that forces you to connect to some server, seen this in those awful stalker and life modpacks.

Is Arma 3 game and the launcher allowed to access the internet in your firewall? Or what kind of internet connection do you have? If it doesn't allow communication over IPv4 addressing then you won't get any multiplayer fun with Arma 3.
Also, you may want to just play on the stable public branch. Profiling is a bit more bleeding edge. Can have some stability issues.

However, I found that when in multiplayer and with the Revive system enabled, FAKs can heal anyone to 100% instead of the normal 75%

Hello! its my first time ever running a dedicated server and trying to run KP liberation, whenever i get into the role assignment screen and try to load in, it kicks me out and give me this error. Anyone know how to possibly fix this?
If you write a mod then it's possible to overwrite CfgFunctions entries and replace them with a modified function.
You're missing the map mod on the server.
The strange thing is that i downloaded the map mod that was provided on the github page and steam. Maybe its something that the maker of the map hasnt listed?

I'm asking because I'm letting go of ACE medical in favor of vanilla, too many incompatibilities and I just want smoother and more streamlined gameplay
you can check out armor plates system mod, healing is close to vanilla and it works as it should when ace is not loaded. Just disable the armor plates themselves in addon options and tweak health settings so medics heal fully and non-medics partially.
I still use ACE, just with the addon that completely disables the medical system from the ACE team themselves, shouldn't conflict tho I hope

If anyone is good at explaining and understanding how to join someone else in arma 3 please dm me. My friend and I have been trying to play together but we actually just have not been able to figure it out. We are about to stop trying so this is last resort. We downloaded mods, they were all compatible in date and load order and that didn’t work. We just wanna play the missions together I guess. I’m new to arma so I’m not entirely sure what the game modes are called but we just want to join each other - also we are both on PC
The difficult part is establishing a connection between two PCs behind NAT at all. Modern games tend to have systems to enable that but with A3 you're on your own.
If you're very lucky then you tick the UPNP box when hosting and it'll work. More likely you'll have to try various virtual LAN solutions like radmin, zerotier or hamachi.
If you know what you're doing and you're not on CGNAT then you can port forward, but it sounds like that isn't the case here.

If you're lucky then your router has a real IP, but if something tries to connect to that then it doesn't automatically know which local IP to forward the data to.
What's increasingly common is that your router doesn't even get its own IP, and there's another layer of address translation above that, which you have no control over.
UPNP used to work in the first case, but these days it's often disabled by default for security reasons. Port forwarding works, but it's not easy for beginners to set up.
In the latter case nothing works and you need virtual LAN software.

Okey that looks good, in that its not mono.
The bug in xaudio is for resampling the frequency, you could try to set your speaker output frequency from 48000 to 44100, then it shouldn't need to resample anything and might not run the crashy code

Arma generates a .rpt log file each time it's run, which contains a lot of information like the loaded mods, or any errors that appear, this log file can be very useful for troubleshooting problems.
To get to your RPT files press Windows+R and enter %localappdata%/Arma 3

To share an rpt log here, please use a website like https://sqfbin.com/ to upload the full log, that way the people helping you can take a look at it and try to figure out the problem you're having together with you.
Note: RPT logs can hold personal information relevant to your system, the game or others.
you can try and find that file, or just grab the whole generated mdmp and wait for one of the devs to look into it
usually RPT contains info what happens before the crash but sometimes it doesn't, minidump is much more detailed but normal people can't read it easily

make sure you have everything unchecked but the GlobMob and see if it still crashes. CDLCs are theoretically designed to work together but they might just not work together as well

i have a recurring issue
when i reinstall arma every time i do that i have less space for mods
lets say i play arma with 100 mods and then i delete it for a while for a break then i reinstall i can only boot 50
its like a space issue and if you reinstall enough times the space isnt enough for rhs
After a while you might install something else and that eats your disks space
windows does not reserve diskspace if you uninstall things
could also be you leave some residual files somewhere when you uninstall
so check your steam install folders if there are any arma files like .pbo left somewhere

@vague nova when you unsubscribe it should free space, the updates need a large delta of twice the storage of the item, do you keep installing and removing mods? try not reinstalling so often. you might want to clear steamapps\workshop\107410 with steam not running, if you have multiple users with different subscriptions and don't really have much in common, it'll easily get bloated
don't do that, you are probably running out of disk space because you cleared arma content and filled some of the space with other games and such to the point that when you reinstall you don't have enough space for what used to fit
when you take a break, don't uninstall the game next time
Properties of Arma 3 in steam library in the app has a button to open the install folder. Then there is the Arma 3 folders in Documents for your profiles.

So recently it seems that the basegame 82mm Mortar causes people to CTD when they try to ADS on the placed mortar tube on our server. Im guessing its maybe a mod interaction of some kind, but I cant find any sort of information about the issue otherwise. Does anyone have any familiarity with this issue?
could be the mortar recoil yeets them. Probably best to recommend not doing that

I am on fedora linux, whenever I open the ace menu the screen flickers, if I pause the game freezes the view but I can still play, it's just that I can't actually see anything
only having the latter bug on newer proton versions
on 7 I don't have it but if I tab out the game freezes completely and it blackscreens

having some issues with custom compositions. When I'm in the editor I have 24 in different under groups like "APC", "Anti-Air"...
But when I play the mission and want to place them I only have 12. What makes most of them disappear?

depending on region you're from it's not something provided along with the internet access, sometimes gotta pay up for it or it's strictly not for private users. If you want to just play with a couple friends and you don;t have means to port forward or use upnp then consider using a virtual lan client like radmin or hamachi

It's caused by the explosion/impact of a laser guided shell from the M4 Scorcher. I'm using the Virtual Artillery support module
I thought it was one of my mods but I just replicated it in vanilla as well, .rpt said that shell.p3d is a nonnetwork object right before the crash
this is all in a multiplayer environment (tried both on dedicated and local hosted servers)

Maybe the linux branch itself is outdated. But the people that play on linux, be it with proton or whatever or not, are likely to check that more. And others that tried the proton way may have left clues there in the past.
What the ISP provides as dynamic or static IP cannot be found in the ipconfig results if there is a router in between. Even a dynamic address assigned to the router can be used to host a server behind it. Often the address is stable for days.
The issue is often that the ISP has their own kind of router with address translation between you and the internet. And then portforwarding/UPnP does not work. And Steam can't create a stable connection with your server to show it in the serverbrowser list. Or they only give the router an IPv6 address which Arma 3 doesn't know how to use. It requires IPv4 addressing.
I always thought the DHCP setting is a rule of thumb regarding "normal" ISP clients
and if your IP is not properly "static" then in all cases it is in the ISP's backend mess
Yes, DHCP is the standard for Windows and I guess other operating systems to get an IP address. But if there is a router provided by the ISP to connect your computer to, then the router provides that IP address for it. The internet side of the router gets a address from the ISP which is either assigned dynamically without any dependable lifetime, dynamic but reserved so essentially static for a while, or completely static in the sense that they told you w.x.y.z is your address as long as you pay them.
But this hidden router at the ISP that you can't control the portforwarding of is mostly the reason why multiplayer servers don't show up in the list. Because packets of Steam, or of people trying to join get sent into the wrong area of the internet. Or some packets to certain Arma 3 ports get blocked in that internal router of the ISP.
When i put arma to fullscreen window display the gamma breaks and everything becomes very bright and the issue doesnt happen in fullscreen
This is just the local network DHCP. Doesn't tell you anything about the actual problem which is upstream of the router.
Having a static local IP can be helpful for port forwarding but doesn't matter with some routers.

The UPNP failed message is also independent of CGNAT :P
UPNP can claim to work when CGNAT actually blocks it, and can fail to work when the upstream is fine.
but yeah if you can get VLAN software to work then you don't need to worry about any of it.
have you tried this without any mods? Also are the settings in game changing? Maybe you have some 3rd party app that chhanges the screen brightness depending on some arbitrary settings, although I am not sure if it would affect the screenshot brightness.
however on the screen the brightness looks pretty normal to me. Can you take screenshots in-game both for fullscreen and windowed?

I don't think nvidia allows application gamma/brightness settings overriding anywhere else but in nView which is solely for quadro gpus iirc
you can also go to the nvidia control panel and turn all the settings back to default in case you have messed with them before and now this might be the outcome

Disable them from the launcher should suffice. Though it can be tricky or hard to match the modname to the names in that error message. Just go through the mods that are enabled in the launcher, uncheck them one by one and test if the error message changes/no longer mentioned one.
But yeah, me and honger suspect you have that "additional medical mod" is a modpack that contain outdated versions of ACE and maybe other mods.
Then you may have mods mentioned in the -mods parameter in the parameters tab of the launcher
Or you didn't put the ACE .bikey file(s) into the keys folder of the server.
These are not automatically moved/copied by all arma 3 server hosting companies. Certainly doesn't happen by itself in a custom made server.

You can't run ACE with mismatched CDLC, or some other mismatched mods.

if you have lots of mods loaded accesing arsenal will take times
try using ace arsenal
or enhanced arsenal (tho not sure if it will change the load times)

Or power supply. I remember I had an unstable system. Shuts down at unpredictable moments. Looked at it's fan, was totally jammed, didn't move anymore. I guess you get that after 8 years of almost 24/7 duty.

As I mentioned, the download process is controlled entirely by Steam. The files are on Steam's servers and distributed through Steam's download system. The game doesn't have anything to do with it (it can't, it's not installed yet).
Either there's a problem with Steam, or there's a problem with your internet connection, or there's a problem with your PC. The game doesn't have any ability to influence this.

The "available" number is how much is left after what's in use. That means a large portion of your RAM is in use, but not all of it - your usage isn't exceeding your capacity. That remaining 4.8GB should be fine to do a download - and it's possible Steam is what's using that 9.1GB to begin with. You can check that in the Processes tab by sorting by memory usage.
If the disk is indeed the source of the problem, then yes. Unless you already have a spare ready to go.

@rigid frost you need your disk imaged/cloned/rescued with all your data asap, check the disk monitor in task manager, pay attention to the drive type and the transfer speeds and latency

What makes you think the mods are loaded on the server? Can you provide proof of that?
But if the server says there is a signature mismatch then you may not have copied the .bikey files of the desired mods to the server keys folder. It doesn't happen by default. Though some serverhosters may have automated that for you.

Well, there is a difference between downloading and actually loading them in memory in the server and processing their configs. The RPT log file shows a table if mods have actually been found and processed.

The voice I selected when making a unit in orbat creator is not in the identity field and in game it's the default american voice.
The thing is in the autogen file, the voice name is there in the identitytypes field as "Language_Ackbar"

Small issue with my Ace AI
So they're supposed to stow/equip NVG based on the time of day (ace_ai_assignNVG)
They do one, but not the other
As in, if the mission starts at daytime they wont equip their NVGs when it gets dark. Vice versa they wont stow their NVGs when it gets bright.

So... been experiencing an issue with the Arma process occasionally hanging in the background after closing my game and being unable to kill it without rebooting my laptop. Tried killing the process both through task manager and elevated Powershell, says "access denied".
What can be the cause and is there a fix for it? Are any mods known for causing this? Currently unable to send my modlist from my phone
Howdy my arma 3 game is crashing after 15 minutes in game and i mean like crsh to where i have to restart my computer completely. it happens with and without mods.
There is likely something badly wrong with your hardware.
If it's consistently ~15min rather 0-30 then probably something overheating.
my nvidia overlay say my gpu is at 0% . it only happens with arma.
have you tried verifying game files?
indeed. i have also done a fresh install of the game.
when i first got the game it ran perfectly. i deleted it to make some room and came back and now it just wants to shit the bed when i try to play it.
is there a way to see what gpu is being used whn you play a game whilst in said game
if you have Nvidia you can force a game to use the graphic card via Nvidia Control panel

me and my friend had an issue a while back where upnp kept failing and we couldnt join each others servers. we then downloaded radmin vpn and it worked fine. however my friend is now hosting the servers and i cant find his server even though he is hosting. what can i do?
Check if radmin vpn is working correctly. Maybe his radmin IP or whatever ID he has changed.
Or the firewall is blocking on his end.

Everytime I click push to talk in multiplater my game freezes
G'day all I've recently being playing around with a bunch of mods and I've found I keep getting the 0xCFFFFFF - Status_Application_Hang Problem when ever I click on the actual icon when the game boots it stops responding and I get the error at first I thought it was myself being impatient but after getting past the loading screen I try and load into Virtual arsenal and I get the same error I've verified the game files once and are slightly losing my mind over it any ideas on why this is happening?
(I've also tried running the game without mods and I had no similar issues)
Loading a bunch of mods will cause instability to the game, just load enough mods.
The only thing about that is I've ran way more mods and never once had an issue like this.
mods get updated, game gets updated, scripts can be triggered in different order if they feel like it and the dev did a shitty job. Something working before is not really an excuse for anything
ditch mods, see if the barebone game works, then either reduce mods from your preset or start adding them from 0 until it breaks again and you'll find the culprit
Or play vanilla

what does the date have to do with your problem? It says it can be activated on a Turkish account so either your friend did not gift it but bought for yourself or your/his account is not set to region of Turkey

Arma generates a .rpt log file each time it's run, which contains a lot of information like the loaded mods, or any errors that appear, this log file can be very useful for troubleshooting problems.
To get to your RPT files press Windows+R and enter %localappdata%/Arma 3

Whenever I try and launch my game from the launcher I only get buldozer to start. I do not have buldozer selected in the launcher parameters, however, I did use it in Terrain Builder earlier this week. Does anyone know of a fix because a fresh install of Arma and Arma Tools did not correct the issue?
You must have the buldozer launch parameters added somewhere, either command line in steam, command line in launcher or launchers launches settings tick boxes.
Why you would have such I can't say. Dozer typically is run from inside object builder or terrain builder

do check for any p drive environment variables that might affect things or just the steam launch options, it's possible that it gets modified to use the p drive instance, does the launcher have any particular badge by chance? what path is the launcher exe being ran from?

I tried folder name, relative path, mod name. Nothin works.
First, if you have spaces in the paths then you need to wrap in quotes, like -mod="@3den Enhanced;@CBA_A3".
But the mod paths are relative to the server executable, so if those are workshop mods then you either need to symlink them, or add !Workshop to the path:
-mod="!Workshop\@3den Enhanced;!Workshop\@CBA_A3"
Ideally, you use the Launcher to keep track of your mods. It downloads them and can keep them in preset lists for easy enabling and launching the game with it. Especially getting them for servers you want to join.

Since #server_admins #server_windows exists specifically for servers (for Arma 3), I assume .. and notice people predominantly ask about the game client here. So I do not consider server issues here unless specifically mentioned. arma3.exe is the game client.

No one can hear me in game. I use PTT and I see the blue mic icon, but my name doesn't appear and no one can hear me. Mic works in every other game plus TS. Even reinstalled Arma 3 and the issue persists. I looked at the pinned post and verified my mic (Razer USB Sound Card) is set to default for windows, steam, etc. Its been over 6 months now. 
Not sure how you could troubleshoot that. Arma doesn't even say which input device it's using in the RPT.

game is completely shitting itself and I think it's over a bush, like, the data for a bush, as that's all it's told me as to why I got kicked from servers, but I'm having issues in singleplayer as well. no third party content, battleye working as intended, haven't violated any rules on the servers, arma was working as intended previously and I've verified my files
