hey, i have started a arma3x64.exe -server instance but after doing #shutdown its not shutting down despite having closed the window

Constantly being greeted by this and cannot seem to troubleshoot this for a buddy trying to host lib.

No Western Sahara installed on Servers or client.
Well, some mod in that list, or the scenario itself requires a suppressor from Western Sahara CDLC. Either take out the mod with that requirement, or both load the compatibility mod for non-buyers of Western Sahara on the server and clients.
Anyone know how I can fix this and why when I try join a certain server it just says that then takes me to a completely different server every time
Launcher does that sometimes. Reconnect to the server from within Arma to workaround.
It's a horrible bug, but it's hard to replicate so I doubt anyone will ever fix it.

well the error indicates a bug in a mod
or missing mod
so either you dont have correct mods to join the server or you have broken files or you have mods enabled that the server dont run
Yeah and so when I go to launcher and press set up dlcs and mods to try find the mod that way the server doesn’t have any mods so idk how to find it if that makes any sense
if server is configured smart, the launcher should tell you what mods you need
then the servers is poorly set up and you should not even bother

I'm having a problem where my Arma 3 server isn't showing up for any of my friends. I was able to host my server yesterday without any kind of problems. I allowed 2302-2306 through my firewall which allowed me to host my server. However, after getting back on today, my friends have not been able to see my server. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We've updated the sounds in last ACE update, the new sounds are more realistic.

So I have a problem with the A-164 Wipeout or else known as A-10
I was normally flying at 100 throttle and no airbrakes but when I press esc to go into the little pause screen and go check the controls cause I forgot some of them,
I go back to flying and suddenly find myself at 0 throttle with airbrakes on (the airbrakes are only on while in settings, i found this out on a multiplayer zeus server). Little weird to me and annoying since I go and check the settings often
AFAIK it's an normal MP behavior. In Pause screen does an autopilot not to crash into ground

Yeah i crashed once while in the settings and no mods, normal official zeus server
and there was no mountains near me that couldve been the issue in that crash
It should try to stabilize your plane speed as well, maybe your plane is too fast?
No it seems to put the throttle to 0 and stall the plane. I end up at like 200-290km/h when coming back from settings and it didnt increase the throttle at any time, atleast from what i saw
it does lowers throttle to 0 if we press ESC while flying a plane, happens to me lots of time when playing warlords, also chat button (/) aswell, bad experience when flying blackfish
Hello, I've been playing the Global Mobilization DLC. Everything was working just fine until the 'Tit for Tat mission. I go through the mission, destroy all APCs and the tank and then the mission gets stuck, it does'nt finish and still tells me to defend. I figured there are some enemies still alive, found a few soldiers in the forest nearby and killed them but it didn't work. I did the whole mission again and nothing changed
I tried to find more enemies but it triggered "Awol" and just kicked me back to the meny after the cinematic, now it appears that the mission "Tit for Tat" is done, I can revert it or replay it, but next missions are not unlocked

Steam file verification process:
Right Click on game -> Properties -> Installed Files -> Verify Integrity of game files

Steam Workshop Mod repair process:
Open Launcher -> Right Click on mod -> Repair
The first process will automatically verify Steam Workshop items as well.
Open the mod folder, go to the keys folder and if there's an old key delete it.
Then go to the addons folder and delete the .bisign files that are signed with the old key
it has magically disappeared
If that's not the problem, maybe the server is not updated to the latest mod version yet

they are incompatible with each other
Well, you can load them together. You just get strange weapon damage effects. They have different ideas on how to count damage point.
rhs stuff is balanced against other rhs stuff, not against normal vanilla values afaik

I can see the name of the unit in game, so it "loaded", but it doesn't show anywhere in game

If so, make sure your arma 3 ingame profile doesnt overwrite it somehow with another units code

Also, getting an empty Servers List for Official Servers, unless I turn on a VPN. I'm in Asia
And after I try to connect to a server from the Internet, and it kicks me out saying I don't have some files, the Internet servers tab becomes empty too, and doesn't load any servers, even if I refresh multiple times

this is caused by broken made mod
which creates a weapon called ItemInfo
dont use mods like that

so what you are looking for is what mod is acp_main
as it is also made broken
if you cant deduce what mod ACP is straight from you modlis or the contents of your units/vehicles list

i tried verifying , deleteing profile in documents ,reinstalling, only way for it to launch is only through directory

Indeed, pressing play in Steam should start the Arma 3 launcher application. Used to change mods, select CDLC, find servers and load mods for those, change startup parameters. That starts the game proper.

since my game crashed whilst playing on the Warlords redux server (official), i cant make it past the role selection screen as the game just crashes when loading to the map. I already tried a repair, and i went into the mpmissions folder and deleted the warlordsredux2.Altis folder (just a shot in the dark tho). neither fixed it and im out of ideas
other servers, even other warlords servers work fine.

Maybe something got corrupted in your profile. You can easily try creating new profile in game and try joining with that

i just noticed that when i join the server, there is a message in chat that says something along the line of: path/mod... is not signed with a key accepted by this server.
the thing is, i did not load any mod at all. the displayed path and mod change randomly every time i try to join again after the crash, but they are real mods ive downloaded.
i tried both manually unloading all mods as well as the automatic button in the launcher
edit: it doesnt even happen every time, had it twice in a row but cant reproduce that message now. i think ill just clean all things arma of my drive and start fresh

the problem its from battleye , i played without enabling battleye it worked

- all ports from 2301-2306 are open
- port checker says port is closed when server is running

im having around 30-50 fps in tanoa with the following pc specs, is there any way to improve it other than tweaking ingame video settings and turning vsync off?

get a better hardware or cope with the performance you get. Arma 3 won't run any better on this.
also spamming the same thing over multiple channels won't magically help, it's against the rules however.
If that CPU can only go upto 1.8 GHz in boost then you are stuck with those frames as you got.
(EDIT: No, it should go upto 3.9 GHz. 1.8 is a memory access frequency limit)
Make sure Windows doesn't keep your system in low power/powersaving mode. But yeah, 30-50 FPS, especially when playing on a server is considered normal.
GPU can be whatever, it's the CPU that matters the most. As long as the processor and RAM are fast, you should be able to maintain high framerate even with older GTX cards.

also, i figured out that objects are what that matters most for me after adjusting some video settings
is there any way to lower its quality over the limit of that can be done in in-game settings
not really, you could try lowering the overall sampling so game renders everything below the native resolution.
but Arma 3 is the game that runs in 30fps for most of the people and having it maintain stable 60 frames is something you do through upgrading the system, not downgrading the game. If high framerate is what you care about then perhaps you should consider finding a different game for yourself then
A3 is on the other side of well-optimized games.
Hello, i have an issue with using custom memory allocator on server(mimalloc from GoldJohnKing), no matter what i do the server wont use it, it always starts with the tbb4malloc provided by BI, it seems like the server ignores the -malloc= parameter, even though the wiki states that it works on both server and client, if i delete all other mallocs from the dll folder except for the one i want it to use it will fallback to the windows allocator

Hello. For some reason whenever I try to host a server for my friends, they can't see it in any of the server lists. When I enable UPnP it seems to set it up just fine and no errors appear, but it my friends still can't see the server on the server list. Does anyone know how to fix this?

To host a server or a game session locally, you need to make sure first that your WAN address / external IP uses the IPv4 protocol!
Check your router’s status page in the settings to confirm. (If in doubt, ask your ISP, Websites like “whatismyip.com” give you a false positive!)
Local servers and games can not be hosted on an IPv6 network, or IPv4 via DSlite tunnel!

Once you have confirmed that your connection uses the IPv4 protocol, you need to manually open / forward the ports 2302-2306 UDP (https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3:_Dedicated_Server#Port_Forwarding)

If UPnP doesn't work (your router may ignore the requests done by Arma as it might be disabled ) you should try logging into your router and manaully do the port forwarding. Every router brand looks different, and often different models look different too. So there is no single guide or tutorial how to do that. Other than that it needs to set the port range 2302-2306 to your computer's LAN IPv4 address.
Unfortunately that isn't always succesfull either, as your ISP might be using a networking scheme where you don't have a unique internet IP address and they hide you behind a router of their own. Similar to how your computer is behind a router in your home/your internet connection box. Then port forwarding won't work. It is quite hard to diagnose if that is the case.

To share an rpt log here, please use a website like https://sqfbin.com/ to upload the full log, that way the people helping you can take a look at it and try to figure out the problem you're having together with you.

The game only creates an error message because I need to forcefully kill it with task manager it's that frozen (probaly why it's going to output one)

I had to kill it with task manager because it got so frozen again so if this error shows up in the logs it was me

The weird part is I even tried disabling the DLCs and it still didn't work
in fact that outpot log was launched without any dlcs on
DM and CLSA are still starting
you might have commandline startup parameters either in the launcher or steam settings

It must do some hash. It takes a long time to verify alot of files.

Deleting all units won't remove the error. Is there a way to force ignore it so that we can still play?
Yeah, project Blufor just had an update and it's killed our previous missions too
Sadly the whole campaign is based around the mod. We're using every faction from there at the moment :/

We've come up with a workaround. Instead of using our server tonight, it seems to still be playable when hosted locally. So we're just going to do that until it's fixed

The guy is wounded
I use Alive mod
When I give order to a med there is an option for reviving but the ai solider won't respond

Bug still persists. Reinstalled steam, reinstalled arma 3. Main disk is pretty much empty and already tried cleaning steam documents folder, etc, doesn't work. Steam client/arma 3 still gets in an update loop stuck between starting "download" and "updating 0%"whenever I try to download something. It only happens with Arma 3, other steam games/workshops work fine
Not sure what else there is to do

have you tried unsubscribing from Arma 3 workshop content? At least scenarios and compositions, if it does not help then from everything.

Keybinds in Eden Editor conflicting with thr mods? -> Change keybinds. Whichever is changed easiest.

i built this server like 4 years ago, and it had the same problem, but since the RPT ends with "memory access violation" i googled this error and i found something saying that was ARMA 3 trying to use cpu instructions that my cpu did not have
then i just dumped the idea and let the server aside for a while, now, i have a better pc with a different CPU and decided to give it a new shot but it seems like the problem persists
btw, i also tried opening the .mdmp file in visual studio dubugger, but since i dont even know what i am looking for, nothing poped to me

Binarized compile would just build it into the config.bin, I imagine.
Your error message doesn't make sense to me because BIS_AddonInfo is a class, not a member variable.
I guess it's screwed up the include somehow?
This may be part of the problem too.
You wouldn't want to use addon builder for binarized stuff. It just breaks things then :P

If you don't experience this issue without mods than start adding them one by one until you find a culprit.
2 months is more than enough for at least a single mod be updated and possibly break compatibility with something else or be broken itself.

Because I was having something like that but it was form players are joining with more mods that not loaded by the server and they was using bug on loadout script. He can get gear from virtually arsenal and load it on server it gives silent error form server side and freeze the hole server. but if you look at any client rpt log it show like more then 20k and more line of spammed error that says (Can't load & error can't find & etc...).
I don't see why not. I've had my system lock up before and play scratchy noises when playing around with sound mods. Issues disappeared when unloading the mod. And making sure I didn't play old versions of it.

it was just me and one friend. we last 2 times that the server crashed we were planing for quite a while, right after finishing a mission with DMS script. like maybe 20 something minutes after finishing it the server crashed. maybe something with the respawn of the missions. but knowing that i was told to disable A3XAI and try the server.
i logged in with infistar and done as much missions as i could forcing the server to create new missions. it did not crash, seemed to work fine. so it seems to be something with the integration with A3XAI and DMS, or maybe just A3XAI, i dont know... i will probably do more tests later today and come with more info if you guys think that could help.

what i fear about asking help to BI is the case that they ask me to try without anymods (witch is compreensible) but the idea is to make it work with the mods. I really am not asking help to solve the problem necessarily. i just wanted at least some guidance on what is going on and what exactly is breaking, because at this point my logs are not pointing to anything specific. but i am almost sure that is something between A3XAI and DMS. since i customized these scripts like... about that "access violation" i think its just because the server closed inappropriately, but its just a guess. I am saying that because i saw this same thing in instances that i closed the server and it gave the same message at the end. When i first encountered this problem in 2020 i thought that it was the problem and googled it. found very little, just a thing saying that it was arma trying to use some CPU instructions that where not available in my cpu (?) since it was such a low lvl problem and i could do nothing to fix it i basically rage quieted and let the server sleep for 3 years LOL
in that same topic i found a guy suggesting to add the -malloc=system in the start options as a try to fix
so that was the reason that was there
4 years later, with a much newer pc and way more powerful CPU i decided to give a try on this again
but i would not be surprised if i was wrong with all of this
Access violation is a pretty generic crash message. It tells you very little on its own.

3 foot patrols
8 car patrols
it spawned successfully the 3 air and 7 car
and none foot
with that i disabled dms debbuger and enabled a3xai debugger
testing again...

Update on the situation, playing in my server with A3XAI enabled with debug level 2 enabled (max level) and new stuff popped up
here are the logs and i will post what caught my attention right after:
Line 3438: 3:35:37 "A3XAI Debug: Probability check failed for random spawn at 117118. Canceling spawn."
this message is the one that most standed out for me, it seems like A3XAI has a spawn chance for random spawns and at this instance, this line is the only appearence in the whole log and right next to server crash. i am going through A3XAI code to see if i can squeeze more of that at this moment.

This also are very close to sever crash and the only instance in the whole log. I was using MLRS to kill bots quickly in a fun manner while i test the server. I dont know if that problem was caused because that vehicle should not be in exile but i doubt that. Anyways, for some reason its calling for setOwner in the Exile_Unit_Player class, which does not seem to make a lot of sense (this one i will be reposting in exile discord)

also.... i just noted that A3XAI is adding "random spawns" to its monitor. My server is configured to have 3 at the same time. both the probability fail AND the bizarre coordinate at the end of the log make a lot of sense.... since i monitored the server for all its spawns the whole time with infistar NO RANDOM SPAWN ON FOOT HAPPENED. at least not anywhere i can see in the map.
which makes me wonder... is it possible that that A3XAI precision level coordinate is glitching arma and spawning units so far from the map that is overflowing server memory (?) this is just a big long stretch guess but that would kinda make sense from my perspective

i dont think that would be possible, A3XAI is a very old script i dont think the original developer would still around. also, might be almost impossible to reach the guy and i dont have the means to that. would be ideal, sure... but not quite possible

The last number in the coordinate is the height, so it's few meters above ground or sea level, depending on commands used. Since values are floats that's math for lot of 0s if I recall right, so should not be an issue. The x and y are well within normal range
The problem might just be that old mods/scripts like that may be poorly made or not compatible with lates Arma version

Hello, I got an issue with my Arma 3.
I have it installed on my external SSD and I switch it between two PCs.
Sometimes my Arma dissapears from installed games and I can just install and verify it and it is playable.
However, steam workshop mods are attempting to install even though I have them downloaded.
It keeps reserving space for all of the mods and it fills up my SSD.
How can I fix this?
it's not an Arma 3 issue, it's how Steam works. No fix unless you keep those mods as local mods instead of Workshop ones.
Putting your computer in the DMZ in your router settings is like putting it as the focal point of all internet side hack attempts. Not very recommended for someone that is a noob in networking and protecting their system.
And no, temporarily doing that and shutting it off when done playing isn't a safe practice. It can ruin your day and the rest of the year if hackers get through.
you need to add your ssd to the steam library instead of trying to install manually, workshop installs in the same library as the game and there's no way to change that

yeah, the workshop files are likely already on the ssd and it might not be filling it up instead unless the game was removed
arma 3 should be picked up with the workshop files then
it was not removed, the library is present on that disk
you said that steam doesnt pick up arma 3 sometimes, you shouldnt be reinstalling it in that case, and its not going to fill up your ssd because its overwriting files, i dont recommend that to happen because it wears the ssd
Hey! I needed help with Arma3's Exile to be exact. It's for the Altis map. Me and my friend are trying to run a server for ourselves on GPortal but each time we do, it runs but when he tries to log in, he's just staring into the ground and there's no menu to select spawn point or anything. After waiting a minute or 2, battleye kicks him due to client not responding. We can't find anything anywhere, if that's reddit, github or any other forums.
I'm also getting this sometimes "mpmissions_CUR_MP.Tanoa\description.ext/Re spawnSelectionDialog/Controls/RspnLocMap.widthRailWay" along with "You were kicked off the game (Battleye: Client Not Responding)"

if you delete steam.dll it'll make steam no longer recognize it as a steam library
in that case you'd have to select it again and maybe tell it the specific folder if the folder name is not steamlibrary

What I done is also add the workshop folder for Arma 3 as a watched folder in the Arma 3 launcher and mods are not dissapearing, even tho I unsubbed from all of them
oh about that, if you were getting mod redownloads with the launcher open then its a launcher issue recognizing things, the !workshop symblink might be changing if the drive letter changes

Semi fixed, tho having a consistent issue with the Status access violation randomly happening when I play, I’ve tried most things on the wiki, however, I am aware of a small ram corruption in my pc, would that cause a Status access error?

When playing custom support game mode, I get this error. There are 10 sectors on the small map and they are spread evenly at around 1 km from each other, and from spawn point to closest sector is 1,5 km
@modern echo progress report if you are curious: I figured out the problem: the appmanifest_107410.acf file got corrupted, so I got a working .acf file from someone else, rewrote necessary entries to match mine and now it works.

might've been that steam crashed on exit while writing the file to disk

my server is crashing when i am killing A3XAI AI, for some reason if A3XAI detects the AI have no pistol it tries to generate it.
my RPT have a bunch of these right next to the crash:

got to that file to debug it and added some diag_logs to see what it was actually trying to do
but those logs are printing a empty string
hints the problem.... i was trying to know where that file is becouse seems to be missing stuff
so i wanted to take a peak at the config file, to see its structure
probably i am missing important stuff in my mission because i tried with the default config for a3xai and yet it crashed

i noted that it has something to do (in my case) with A3XAI when groups are getting killed
you kill a group and it starts doing it stuff to remove from the monitor and all of that
A building/object being moved/deleted on the terrain.
Invalidates the AI pathfinding cache.
And before that, the cache got corrupted somehow.
could map clutter, make that happend? like i am using chernarus redux, witch has a bunch of crap around. but nothing is moving... on my tests were most related to killing AI
yeah something ground clutter is listed there too
but there shouldn't be any ground clutter involvement there, it might just be wrongly displayed data
at this point i am completely rebuilding the server, lost hope on it, but if the problem is related to the map itself i think i could just change it to a normal chernarus. would that be a possible fix?

And later on when something else tried to work with it, it crashed because it was corrupted.
The dumps only show the crash, but I need to know how it became corrupted, to know what the problem is
i mean, for my side i think its all already fucked... i will try to rebuild the server and pray for the best. but if i could be of any help i could send BI my server config so you guys can maybe find the bug...
but i really dont know how a priority fixing arma 3 is to BI

yeah that is weird.
I testran that code and there definitely is no GroundClutter stuff there.
But in your crash, it looks like there was a ground clutter item in a list that shouldn't have any ground clutter items.
But that could just be messes done by optimized code and missing information in the crashdump, that might not mean anything

I really did not want to do that, roaming AI is important, especially these days with such a low player base :/ they kinda fill the gaps hehehe
