Has links to the right Visual C++ Redistributable 2013 file. Make sure to install the 64bit (x64) version of it. Arm version won't do anything for you. And well, x86 (32-bit) might, but you would want to use more memory for the game anyway, so only install that as a secondary option.

It doesn't. Those things are not installed by Windows itself. Usually comes as automatic installations needed for applications. As Steam does in case of Arma 3.

Hi anyone know about this issue, We have a member that is having issues installing the modpack.
When mods are installed they instantly corrupt and when you go to the location that they're stored it's empty, but his mods are stored in ext. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content
But everyone I have seen has it in - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3!Workshop
Anyone came across this issue before.

!Workshop folder is the symlink one and it is supposed to be like that. Mods are stored in some obscure Steam directory, !Workshop is for easier mod browsing but it's does not contain any mod files except symlinks.
you can tell him to go to \AppData\Local\Arma 3 Launcher\Logs and browse the log files to find anything concerning
My volume goes very low when i start to play. On the regular screen it is normal. I have looked at every setting and can't find anything. It started this after i installed Teamspeak.

- If doesn't work, try to uninstall Teamspeak just in case

how did you confirm that you have upnp and it works?
just selecting it in Arma 3 and seeing the lobby does not mean you actually started hosting
and since upnp is "plug and play" it would work, if it doesn't then you don't have it, you can get into your router settings to see if it's enabled or contact your internet service provider
for hosting through IP you need to have a static IPv4 address, others won't work. If you don't have one either then you can either use radmin/hamachi for creating a virtal LAN and play thhrough this or buy a hosting
you do have a point on the upnp part, however im 100% sure i have IPv4 adress

Then maybe your ISP gives you a connection where you don't have a unique IPv4 address on the internet. It might have you behind a Carrier-grade NAT solution. You get an IP from them that is not routable across the internet so packets go the wrong direction and die along their way.
Or their NAT blocks packets across the ports that Arma 3 needs and you can't forward those.

Are you really sure no unit is playable? Check the Entities list for pink names?

Have two units.
First unit is player, the UI automatically shows "Playable" as checked box, because "Player" implies that. But inside engine internals, Playable is not actually checked, because Playable stands for "ControlMP".
Now set second unit to "Playable", its "ControlMP" is now on.
Make the second unit also "Player", now the unit is "Player" AND "Playable". "ControlMP" is still on. Even though it has no effect, and you cannot turn it off because the UI forces it to be on when "Player" is on.
So fix @mellow mesa
go to your "Player" unit. Uncheck "Player" and save. Go to the unit again, see that "Playable" box is still checked, uncheck that and save. Go to the unit again and Check "Player".
Now it should be fine

if one of the distance lods were inverted then yes. but it is a bit doubtful all the heads would have that same issue
unless they share distance lods (which now that I think of it could be a thing since they are uvmapped the same anyway)

did you try contacting your ISP to confirm that the UPNP actually works? Old software or their own restrictions could cause it to not work.

my Arma III doesnt start, I have (I think) ~30 mods loaded, none of which cause problems. It freezes at the startup screen where it says "Bohemia Interactive" I have no control of my mouse at this point and need to ctrl alt del to restart.

you could look into the log files assuming you didn't disable them in launcher parameters and game itself started logging things, but loading stuff one by one is the most reliable way

Loading them halve by halve can shorten that path. Whichever halve keeps the problem, has the problem mod.
Though some may depend on eachother. So you might need to keep some in groups to avoid other issues.

Hello everyone! Does anyone have experience in Using a Tobii Eye Tracker together with Arma 3 via FreeTrack Protocol? For me it simply does not work and iam in contact with the Tobii Support for multiple Days now but it seems like even they cant find what is the Problem.
I set everything up through the TobiiGameHub, have FreeTrack enabled in the Arma Controller Settings.
I recall this issue is somehow related with RAM or VRAM. How big is your RAM?
My personal PC is 64gb, the box is also 64.

It's a client thing, not server related.
Are you running stable or perf/profiling branch?
I'm not running any betas, no. Just normal/stable.
None of the other 20 players are either from what I know.
Stable is capped to 4GB unless you set -maxmem. Can cause issues like that.

Sounds like you're down to plan D of renting a server then.
It's not uncommon for VPNs to fail to work, and because they're the most technologically complex method of all it's probably impossible to diagnose.
Most likely cause if your ISP giving you a Carrier-grade NAT. Noting but such a VPN/Hamachi/Zerotier solution that could be a work around to that. But indeed, throwing money at an internet hosted server might be the only sure way of success.
Setting up an Arma DS is quite challenging too, but it is the only option that will work with any ISP or router.
Does it feel good having to dump 10 quid a month on some garbage hardware run by clowns? Nope but that's Arma.
I wonder why would radmin/hamachi not work though. It is pretty foolproof and I've never seen it not work.
ISP can't make it not work, Windows can't make it not work either unless there are some "family restrictions" set up
All we got sofar is "server is not working, server does not show up". Which indicates there is a communication issue to/from Steam servers. But it is not much to go on. Mystic, please explain in more detail if you want any help.

units sliding around when moving quickly has been a bug for ages and everyone gets it, because that's how the game tries to predict movement for hit calculations and other server-related stuff. Your friend might try lowering their ping or getting a stable wired internet connection instead of wifi (or whatever that would be better than it's now), otherwise you're just in bad luck.
if everyone else is ok, and you are the only one with a lag issue, then most likely "you" are the issue
check your ping for starter, if it's high (above 60-70) then it means either your internet connection is too slow or the server is too far from you

So im trying to get my server up and running on a new server host.
Its a dedicated server and after getting all the mods set and admin shit figured out, it just lets me into the server with a static screen and water can be heard, i have access to the admin commands but nothing happens even when i change the mission.

Hey, my game soft crashes and disables clicking anything on my whole monitor whenever I click the button to open a scenario in the Eden Editor. I open Eden Editor, click the "Scenarios" button, select the Open option, and then the game freezes. My cursor appears on the monitor but I can't click anything, including other applications I open from my 2nd monitor. The only fix is to restart my PC. Hitting CTRL-O while in the Eden Editor causes the same result

Sounds like this is a problem bigger than Arma 3 or Steam itself. If other applications hang the PC then either hardware is failing or Windows is messed up. Bring it to a local PC repairshop or something.

Arma 3 has a limit of sounds it can play concurrently, maybe too much stuff was happening at once and sounds for the gun were suppressed in such way
It was just in a testing scenario with no other weapons firing so it's likely a mod conflict issue

That looks like you are trying to host a server from within the game. Then 2302 is the starting port and should be good as it is.
The following thing needed is either checking that UPNP checkmark, or if your router does not respond to that then try to manually set up portforwarding in your home router configuration. And that is the tricky part, especially if you don't have much understanding of networking. As every router brand and router model can look different or has it placed in different menus. There is no one size fits all tutorial for that.
Some Internet providers might even give you a connection where that won't work at all anyway. And it is hard to diagnose that for sure.

But as said, your internet provider may have changed their network config without telling you and now it doesn't work anymore. Renting a server might be the simpler solution.
UPNP is basically an automatic setup for port forwarding. It makes your PC tell your router to forward incomming traffic to your PC. Otherwise it would block everything. So not checked would certainly not work.
But not all routers have that enbled by default, as it can be considered a security hole.

I recently purchased a non-VPS arma server for our unit after the guy who paid for and managed the last one left and am trying to figure out how to get it to start. Inevitably our mods throw up errors upon server launch. Is there any way I can just bypass the error messages? On our old VPS it was as easy as clicking "ok" on a dialogue window, however now that we dont have a direct remote connection to an OS thats no longer an option. Hopefully one of y'all just knows what to plug into the command line when it encounters one but any help is appreciated. The server host we're using now is HostHavoc.

Normally a missing mod dependency is a fatal error. You can't click past it.

Error messages are not to be ignored, but fixed. Warnings are non-fatal. Those can usually be clicked away. But Arma 3 is still telling you to do your homework as server manager.

Post specific error message in troubleshooting channel or so. We are guessing blind now what your issues are. Maybe the class names in the erorr messages point to mods, or creators of mods.

Got an issue right now where my kitboxes are flipping everywhere and falling over when I start the dedicated server. Theyโre all snapped to the floor of the building and have been completely fine when tested in editor so Iโm not sure why this is happening only in the dedicated server. If anyone has a fix let me know would be much appreciated.

try making your boxes 20-30 cm off the ground at start, so they will fall a bit (they are probably interacting weirdly with the floor of the building)

Howdy yall, Iโve never had issues with hosting servers in the past via UPNP, but now I canโt get it to work at all. Friends canโt see my server. The only thing that has changed is I recently upgraded my hard drive so Iโm starting from a fresh install. I tried setting a static IP and portfowarding, but thatโs not working either.
Assuming that it's windows, you need to set your network connection type to private (rather than public) and enable network discovery.

Network Discovery was on and private was selected. Still no dice. I rolled back the port foward changes and I'm still not getting anything using UPNP
Tried that, still not working unfortunately. Might be a problem with hide terrain objects. Iโm currently hiding a building where the building with the boxes is. I think for some reason the building thatโs been hidden has its collisions still on for some weird reason.
The fresh install might be a coincidence and your ISP moved you to CGNAT.

some modded stuff works, other not, but if you have a problem with a vanilla feature, then first troubleshoot it with vanilla stuff to rule out problems from mods

Hey I'm working on some Zeus stuff and my compositions keep disappearing.
I've made three enemy factions in the editor and every time I go to save them, all seems to be well. I save them all under separate categories within compositions, and while in the editor they seem to work fine. However when I get into Zeus only a few of them actually show up and I can't figure out why. This is the 5th or so time I've gone through to save them all and it's really starting to bother me as I've put a lot of work into making them. Once they're saved I don't modify the files at all

A friend of mine on a Mac is trying to join my Windows server, but keeps getting a message saying it's a different version of Arma 3 and it won't let him join. I'll say in advance that I have seen messages that apparently the Mac version isn't up to date, but those were dated 2022-2023, so IDK what the current situation with the Mac version of Arma 3 is.
I'm having issues with editor noting happens at all if I press play scenario it just stays in editor mode even if I put it on player in the npcs attributes aswell as I've disabled all dlc and mods and verified steam files. nothing online for it either

by default, if you press play scenario in Eden it will be singleplayer, you need to set 1 AI to "player"
if you want to try multiplayer, click "play" on the upper part, select "play in mulriplayer" and setup a server (either lan or internet), then you can choose betxeen all AIs that have "playable" ticked
Although no matter what it should always at least put you into a camera when you press play

Whenever I am in the second seat of the F18 and am using the (drone?) camera, whenever I zoom in it turns in to a random position, making it really obnoxious to use
Take away any mods that might change the sounds. See if the sound changes.
Or try ACE alone and see what the audio should be.

That steam verify copypasta is missing the key step that you need to close the Arma launcher. Otherwise it ignores most of the files for some reason.

Be thurough! Everywhere in the Arma 3 install folder. Make sure the launcher, Steam and the game is shutdown when you delete files. Then do a verify in Steam. Takes a while to download everything again.

Hello, i am currently not at home for a while, so i am working with my laptop. The A3 Tools are not working for me, i does not register me accepting the EULA (I accept them, but i cant use any tools with the error "You must argree to the EULA....") restart, reinstall did not help.

im reinstalling arma because one of the files got corrupted and i couldnt delete that file so i just renamed the folder it contains in steamapps
so i redownloaded arma and it made a new folder and it installed the base game n everything
and now its reinstalling all of the mods
it reinstalled some mods but for some reason everything else got corrupted

Could be a software issue, turn off one drive if you don't use it could prevent it to happen again
if you manually created a folder within Steam's files you could have corrupted the Steam itself.

Hey, i am having problems with Zeus, i am in a server and i can't access Zeus. When i made the mission, before putting it in the server, i created the Zeus. As a backup, i logged in as an admin and "Created a Zeus" with ACE options, but still nothing. When i press Y, it pings the Zeus.

I don't see how FTP would care about whether your mods are signed or not.
The common issue there is that you can't connect to a server with an unsigned mod when you have verifySignatures=2.
Options:
- Sign the mod yourself.
- Don't use the mod.
- Disable signature verification.

Anyone who can decipher RPT files able to assist us. Server is hard crashing and we have no idea what the cause it, I did a full wipe and reinstalled of our mods on the server and verified both the Server Client and copy of Arma we have on the servers.
Will crash at either 40-50 minutes to 90 minutes then today it happened at almost 2 and 1/2 hours.

Hi all. Having two issues with VKB STECS-Mini throttle in Arma 3 with helicopter fyling.
Main one is that the throttle is only working from about 30-50% to 75%, anything before or after that does nothing (very smal range of effect makes for very twitchy throttle/collective control). Googled heaps, this appeared to be an issue in the past, but all suggest remedies have not worked. Also noted that it was consistantly only an Arma issue, and did not effect other flight sims. Is anyone able to help me rectify this? I am failry to know to PC gaming and ARMA, so any explanations should be aimed at the level of a 5 yr old.
The other issue is that the sound of the throttle is reversed. Throttle up and the engine winds down, throttle down and it spools up. most annoying. Does it when throttle reversed as well, ie throttle v Collective.

I created and set up the database on xampp mysql and HeidiSQL, linked the database in the extdb-conf and when i load into the game it just says
So you can remote connect to the server, which is a dedicated one. As filezilla is an FPT (file transfer protocol) service you are in a way remote connecting to it. But it appears you only have access to the files. Which makes me wonder how you manage to start and stop the server. You would need to have some kind of terminal access to start them with a command-line.
FASTER is just a graphical front-end application to manage that command-line and fill in various config files automatically. If you have FTP you can download/edit/re-upload those config files yourself. And upload mods from your own computer through FTP. You don't need a graphical front-end as long as you can tell the server to start and stop the server application. Infact, I think this is the better way to do it, as you don't have to deal with another complexity layer which you must interpret first in how they intend to control the server with their way of setting things up.

Try to replicate with a minimal modset. That's far too much to diagnose.
IIRC there's an improvement to AI visibility checks through particles on the perf branch but I don't know if that's relevant to your problem.

The RPT file says that that "@Task Force Arrowhead Radio (BETA!!!)" directory is not found, other mods seem to be working just fine

Can you check what is in that specific mod folder on the server? If that is actually empty then the server is right (which it always is anyway) Posting the entire RPT log file might help diagnose it, as the top has atleast part of the commandline.

The servers need files. If those failed to download, then it doesn't do much with it.
You can try renaming it to just TFARBETA and change that in the commandline too. Maybe the system does choke on the exclamation characters.

Shouldn't be. That is checked through the signatures, those bisign files in the screenshots.

That wasn't the keys folder. But it appears the files are there. I just don't know what the server requires to not show that error. Simply try to rename that mod folder. As the commandline is missing those exclamation marks. As the folder does have those, the server is looking for the wrong modfolder.

Probably someone already mentioned that but recently my Arma server started consume like weirdly a lot of RAM without ever cleaning it. The amount of used RAM did not go down ever if I cleared all the placed objects, wrecks, units, etc from the map.

hey so i cant do upng for reasons but my friend can do upng but his server never pops up for me and if we are on the same network the lan server dosent pop up for either of us, is it because i cant do upng?
No, if you are both in the same network then UPNP has no purpouse. Only if you need players from outside on the internet to join the hosted server, whichever of the 2 of you is hosting.
Most likely the one that can't be seen by the other has his network profile in public mode. Then it tries to stay stealthy in the network.

Ive been getting an error telling me my settings are corrupted in the launcher, then all my settings are reset. I have completely deleted and reinstalled arma Ik this may not be the proper place to ask this but please for the love of all things holy can someone help me

In most cases mods dont replace weapons, they add new ones on top of the existing ones
I'd recommend checking in the virtual arsenal (main menu -> tutorials -> virtual arsenal) to see if the mod is being loaded correctly and you can find the weapon

Then you need to find a scenrio on the workshop that either uses that specific mod, or allows all weapons to be chosen/delivered in the field. Or you just make your own scenario in the eden editor and provide it to the player through some arsenal. Basically, you can't expect every mod to be available in any scenario you want to play. The creator had a certain play-balance in mind for you to accomplish the goal in it.
Can anyone send me their Battleye folder? I am on MacOS and my battleye folder is missing
Pretty sure that would fall under illegal distribution. If there is a Battleye executable for the MAC release of the game, then the game would be distributed with it. Maybe people in #linux_mac_branch know of a way to deal with it if it is missing.
Also there is #arma_battleye with perhaps more information on how to deal with MAC issues.

I Also have a problem of approximately the same nature as yours, after updates (ACE, CUP, etc.) ACE Arsenal began to work terribly, the game began to take longer to start, and stuff like that. Namely, when you open the section with uniforms, the game freezes at 1 m 30 sec and every time you want to edit or just look at a unitโs uniform, although with the same set of mods 2 weeks ago everything was fine.
P.S. The RPT report also shows about this thing. No alive in (some sec)
We can only hope that they will fix the updates because the updates talk about improving optimization, but it has only gotten worse xD

Technically, this is an Arma3 tools/publisher issue but I don't think there's a channel for this.
For the past 15 or so hours, I've been trying to update a mod I've had on the work shop for a few years.
Unfortunately, it now always fails to update with the statement:
Steam Client failed to process the operation:
Steam error code: 8
Steam error message: Invalid Param - a parameter is incorrect.
I've been trying all kinds of 'snake oil' type suggestions (which is largely all I can find by searching online) but nothing has worked.
I can publish the exact same files as a new mod so I know the content itself is fine. I just don't want to force the subscribers to change and start subscribing to a new mod.
However, I think I have identified the issue to some degree. When publishing fails, there's an option to open the item web page. This takes me to Steam which can't find the item as it has id=0
Interestingly, the 'take to web page' in the main publisher window does still correctly work.
So it looks like somewhere in the publication process it's lost the workshop id for this item. I'm guessing this is held in a file somewhere which has corrupted. However, I've not been able to locate such a thing.
If anyone else has experience of this or knows of a good solution, I'd be most grateful!
I've found an arma3publisher.steam.rpt and the error is slightly more useful, perhaps?

but knowing Bob the solution was writing extremely threatening letters to steam so that might not be helpful.
I've also tried the command line PublisherCMD (which was one of the suggestions I've found).
This doesn't work either which is a shame as it allows specifying the ID directly. (Perhaps it's the ID that's broken at steam's end not the publisher?)
Oddly though, the comment from the command line version is:
"An item with the same key has already been added."
Not entirely sure what's meant by 'key' but the whole point of and 'update' is to 'update' something that's already there... ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
My arma game when I have 65 mods on, booted up yesterday, but now it goes through every screen, bohemia, arma, then goes black and not responding, and I'm left with a STATUS_APPLICATION_HANG (Antistasi pack made by my friend)

Anyone ever experience Arma 3 + Arma 3 Server causing Steam, Discord, or SteamUI to crash? And more importantly, anyone know of a solution to it?
It seems unrelated to RAM as it always happens when I still have about 4 gigabytes still free, but it does seem to be related to CPU usage, as it always happens after a prolongued period of 100% CPU usage. Could be Windows suspending apps to prevent an OS lockup.
Limiting the CPU cores Arma 3 and/or the Server can use in taskmgr seems to help, but isn't a foolproof solution. Limiting RAM just causes Arma 3 or the Server to crash after a while.
Discord crashing isn't the worst, just means I have to use in-game chat or TS3 - SteamUI makes the Steam app steal focus from the game every time it tries to reopen - but Steam obviously fucks up the game and the server alike, effectively crashing all three.

I have a question ? I made a gui with comboxboxes and editboxes and before it was working perfectly but now my game is crashing. I tried to see why and it seems to crash when the combobox is empty and selected and when i press the rmb while i'm dragging on the edit box, is it normal ? I mean, if I click send in whatsapp, it'll send even if I switch to another app or lock the screen. Discord is unique in needing the app open in the foreground to be able to send messages
