anyone else having an issue where you are unable to open arma tools?
for me when i try to run it i see a quick white window which immediately closes
then the entire program just ends
on steam and also in task manager
strange stuff. For me if it flashes and disappears - it's usually hidden to system tray

Yeah you actually need to open it for once, to agree, but if you've done it already, why not
Didnt see anyone mention this before but if you dont want to force people to use only the mods you have added on the server but want to allow them to have client side mods aswell for their choosing i.e jsrs/blastcore/ better inventory etc. then in the server config file make sure to set verifySignatures = 0;

Yup, It loads allows other missions files to be loaded f.ex Antiasti but not this, So i feel like its something with the mission itself.
What is the longest time you've waited for it to load
cause slower pc's need to give arma some time to load especially modded arma

I have an issue with logging onto "official" servers to play Warlords. I play those regularly, including just yesterday, but today it gave me issues. Really it is logging into ANY official server. I select a server and select JOIN at bottom right, then the ALTIS map comes up. This is where I'm supposed to load the mission file and join the server, but nothing happens. It just stays on that map of ALTIS with the little info about it at the bottom. I've even left it to go watch TV for 10-15 minutes, then came back, and its still on that ALTIS map screen????
Ive tried to log onto 01e and 01w Warlords servers, Escape from servers - ANY server from the list, it doesnt load
I just played this yesterday, and mostly daily for the past week - no issues until today....
I'm supposed to go from that screen to the queue screen, where I choose to join either Opfor or BLufor factions, then join the actual game. But the queue screen is not opening up - it just stays on that ALTIS map loading screen.
ahhh, well that would explain it then. So I guess I have to wait it out......

Was just searching for problems because another admin said he had this after updating his server, so i tried to replicate and had the same issue 
Im trying to host a server on my computer using co10 escape and cup, I have all the mods and the ports are forwarded on my router. It was working fine yesterday, however today when I tried to host there are no player slots on the server. If i host the server on lan there are player slots. I have no clue what is happening.
This also seems to be happening so any game i try to host on internet not just modded ones
however with lan it works
is there a reason why it would work on lan and not internet
the internet server not loading the correct mods?
Are you running from game client? where you can also host lan without restarting? then probably the steam issue

One thing I can say is make sure you have no filters
That or press the refresh button to request the list from Steam again. It probably was Steam having a 'down day'. Or you somehow have a vpn enabled that sends the pings to the servers the wrong way, or not along the right return way.
It's best to use the serverbrowser in the launcher anyway. As you will no doubt find servers that needs mods. And with the ingame serverbrowser you can't change mods anymore. The launcher serverbrowser can get you the required mods for the server subscribed, downloaded and start the game with them before connecting you to it.

How do I fix "Unable to import preset" error?
So i keep getting a stutter every time i try and play, like the game freezes for a second every 5 or so
so i opened up task manager on a second screen and apparently it's spiking my GPU to 100% every few seconds
idk why it's doing this or how to stop it, it didn't use to do this (also its a 1050)

I’m getting kicked with a BattlEye Client Not Responding message when I try to join my dedicated server. I never had any issues until I installed Arma Reforger, which had me download BattlEye as well. I tried uninstalling Reforger as well which didn’t help. I also tried a workaround I saw where you uncheck Battleye in the launcher settings, start a single player mission, close out and recheck Battleye and see if it works. Haven’t been able to find any way around this. Any help would be much appreciated

Anyone have any experience with setting up a headless client via LinuxGSM? I'm following the instructions here https://docs.linuxgsm.com/game-servers/arma-3#headless-client-overview but the client just never seems to connect in the end.
I get a message on the server "headlessclient connecting", but the headlessclient never seems to pop up in the list of players (I should be able to see it, since I am logged in as admin).
FYI: also running a dedicated server hosted with LinuxGSM on the same machine, just a second instance of a dedicated server. Using the same modstring for both the dedicated server and the headless client.
The TFAR plugin is right there at the bottom. The Teamspeak installer is not part of the TFAR mod. You need to get that at Teamspeak's website.
Either #headless_client or #server_linux would be the best place to ask about this. That would be where people with HC and linux knowledge are.

Hey guys. I've noticed massive FPS drops recently. Ofcourse the FPS depends on settings, amount of Ai and stuff. But no matter what, Low or Ultra, When I start walking/running my FPS drop by half. Any ideas?
Hey there everyone. I decided to try getting to Arma again after a break, and when I tried to import the preset that I'd been sent, the launcher simply gave me this error.
I've reinstalled the game, unsubscribed to all my mods, and verified my game files, to no avail.
I was curious if anyone here has any ideas as to how to troubleshoot or fix this issue?
Check the file you are trying to import and see if it is actually an HTML file.
Just checked, it definitely is.
Where did you get the file from? Maybe it is corrupt somehow.
Got it directly from a friend via discord, others have used it without issue which is why I figure it's something wrong with my game or something to that degree.

Fair enough, it's a proper html file according to Google anyway. But one thing for sure, there are way to many mods in that list for a server to work properly. Also many terrain mods for which you only use one at a time. And 2 Antistasi mods that would conflict when loaded together. Never throw all juicy mods together and hope it works. Only load the ones you actually need. My advice: start with just 1 antistasi mod (either Community The Mod or Plus), one terrain that you will play on and it's dependant mods. If it loads, slowly start adding mods until it fails. Like those faction mods. And don't load any AI mods as they mess up how Antistasi works.

Try rebooting the game cause from the screenshot it looks like the eden interface for some reason is showing under the Zeus interface

Try verifying integrity of game files and if that doesnt fix it start checking the mods you are using for zeus/eden cause one of them could be broken

TFAR Radios not working.
Proximity chat is working.
When I press Ctrl+P, the radio does not open up.
There is also a message which says tfar is waiting for the server radio or something.
Does anybody know how to fix this?

alr lemme try and explain it a bit better, i placed down move waypoints for the player so they could follow them, and i placed them in eden editor, when i started the scenario the waypoints didnt appear for the player

Default appears to be first-person visible but not map visible.

Double-click on the first waypoint. Scroll down to Waypoint visibility. Check that "scene visibility" is ticked.
Are you running any mods?
under game options -> difficulty -> situational awareness -> waypoints, what do you have?

in vanilla squad system just selec them with F1-F12 depending on which number ur unit is, then press 6 and choose to where they should rearm
you can select any dead body, ammo box, vehicle, just make sure it has the correct resources based on your faction

i dont think there is a way to spawn weapon crates on play without using Zeus or script
So you've put down waypoints like move/attack/guard this area which are mainly used for ai on the player and it didnt show up? Simple solution and a thing most people use is map markers or mission objectives in zeus and the difficulty settings people refer to are server/mission settings you need to write yourself not a checkmark you click but they should be turned on under the default recruit/regular mission difficulty

Hey, this isn't specifically arma, but I'm trying to trouble shoot Ace Medical right now. It's literally game breaking and I can't find what's messing it up. I only have Ace and CBA_A3 loaded, but every shot to an armored chest creates a bruise and nothing else. I'm using default Nato infantry and their weapons against eachother.

this is new behavior to me
if you plan to reveal more and more with time instead of giving as much detail as possible from the beginning then it will be hard to give you a proper way of troubleshooting this, imagine.
If you get the same behaviour with vanilla game + ACE then go into addon settings, look for damage/ballistics categories and tweak them to match what you want to see.

Might be issue with armors you're using having too high values to work properly with ACE.
RHS armors do not play well with it. Next ACE update should improve the situation a bit.
I unloaded every mod, and I'm using default units. The behavior is the same
are you testing this with default ACE settings or have you customized them already?
I've customized them in the past, but I don't believe I've touched any settings recently. Can you tell me how to reset to default settings? New profile?
No setting affects how wounds are created tho.
So IDK, vanilla ofc works fine with ACE. Provide RPT from when you have the issue with only CBA+ACE loaded.

You've literally choosen only one problematic vest in vanilla.
GL vest has like 70 armor
So this applies.
If you want bruises to be able to kill the units use Sum of Trauma
Try other vests and if you dont have any issues its most likely the armor mod you are using

I've literally NEVER had this issue before. Using the vests I use now ([VSM] Multicam DT FACP (Operator))

This issue was there for the last 3-4 years since we rewrote the damage handling.
As I said earlier no setting affects wounds creation/penetration.
not saying this will fix anything but there is also a mod called ace armor adjusted that i've seen work on adjusting armor pen for both ai and players so you can give that a try

Not sure, vanilla riflman vest has 16 armor IIRC, I do not remember the amount that's starting to cause issues.
But if it does not work right now I would assume this is too high, bear in mind it might also depend on weapons used etc.
So my fix is to either modify the vest config values, find another vest, or see if I can find another mod that modifies ace damage values?

I am new to ARMA but have been watching YouTube for many years. Super stoked to be a part of the community finally! Having some issues - after I successfully downloaded a mod and play a couple games with it and then turn my Xbox off, the next time I go to join that same sever it says I have don’t have a mod(s) downloaded even though I downloaded them the day before. When I check my tab that shows all the downloaded mods, the mods that I did have downloaded are now shown as not downloaded…but when I go to redownload them I get an error message and am unable to redownload them. So the only thing I can do to be able to redownload the mod(s) is to delete all my mods and then redownload them…super frustrating. I have been playing on the public server 2nd Rangers Kunar Afgh. Anyone have any thoughts??

there was no update to Arma today, if anything updated then a mod of yours. And I doubt it's an issue as you are saying that Steam doesn't see it.

if im not wrong if you pick the drive that already has arma 3 in it in the steam folder it should detect the files that already exists and do basically a validation of them but dont quote me on that

I'm not a sound engineer but I guess it sounds correct up until one sound appears that overloads the buffer or something. This was pretty notorious with USB headphones or those with USB dongle

We’ve got cup units vehicles and weapons, 3AS and better inventory but other than that nothing. I’ve tried joining him off of steam and through direct connect, but nothing has worked so far, any suggestions?
Your friend has to set up UPNP or port forwarding (which may be impossible depending on your ISP), or you both need to use a private VPN like Hamachi or Zerotier.

Yeah, common thing here is that people are loading a modpack that includes old versions of bits of ACE etc.
But we can't tell you what modpack that might be because anyone can make a modpack full of other people's mods.
The original mod here is called "ACE No Uniform Restrictions" and hasn't been updated since September 2022.

If it's been broken for a year then it'll probably stay broken, and you'll need to fix the modset yourself.

It may has a lot of existed Mods, that are never updated on the modpack, which may cause a conflict with actual Mod, or version mismatch, or, whatever, I see zero benefit to use and full of risks
In this case you could also figure out which mod is including the old ACE uniform mod by reading the RPT.
It gives you the full path of each loaded addon, so just search for ace_nouniformrestrictions.pbo

I don't believe that's what's going on, we've hosted other missions this week with no problems. Currently testing the same mission file on a different server to see if we can narrow down if it's a server problem or a mission problem

Anyone know a fix for when a squad leader dies it dissloves the whole Squad? Like all the members from the Squad get attached to there own squad or the Squad Leader is removed. Anyone know how to fix this so when someone dies it doesnt remove everyone from the group or remove the squad leader. Im using GUI Compass mod and idk if that has an issue with it (Ping me when u get an answer as Im notified)

Hope this is the right place for this. Something in this mod list hides the squad command menu in the top left. Just disabling it all and playing vanilla the command list shows up like normal but while using this mod list I can't see what I'm telling my guys.
Commands still work, I select all members of my squad and tell them to move, and they go there. I tell them to regroup, they do. But I can't see the menu. I hope this is something you all have seen before and I'm not asking for too much straight off the bat.

USB headsets often crash because they go into mono mode for some reason. You can check if it's that by finding the most recent RPT at C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\Arma 3
but also Cherno 2020 seems to trigger a crash on some setups.
But if you had an unrelated crash with SOG then maybe your hardware is just unreliable and it's corrupting data.
In that case, steam verify Arma.

You'll have to untick "No Logs" in the launcher parameters and then make it crash again.

and it shouldn't be loaded by players tbh
it's a strictly editor-made mod that does not create dependencies so god knows what R3vo put in there
If your client crashed like that error message indicates, then obviously the server notices it lost connection with the client. The error message shown is a very generic one though. I've teleported plenty of times with Zeus a few days ago without any crashes. But that was localhosted game though, not exactly the same.
You'll have to narrow it down some more. Remove mods and try if the teleporting still goes bad. But I suppose posting that to the feedback tracker in the hope the devs can make sense of the minidump files to get at a cause might be a thing to do.
its only happening to me out of 20people that got teleported, and it crashed me 3 times, 14days ago, with the same mods everything was okay...

Hello folks. I have a very specific question regarding AI, and I am wondering if anyone here in the official discord may have an answer.
I'm looking for a way to solve the issue of AI clipping through walls. Clearly something about the pathfinding makes a decision to ignore object collision, and I am very tired of it resulting in my enemy units phasing through walls meant to imped both them and my players in my zeus scenarios.
Is there any way to have unit AI "give up" or abandon pathing when their is an obstruction? Its clear their programming will get them their by any means necessary, even jumping off ledges should it be an option.
I ran an experiment by putting some vanilla units and more well behaved modded units in boxes at 3m up, with and without walls. In all cases the will both phase AND jump down, always killing them.
I solved a similar issue of unwanted behaivor with player units, it being the sky diving animations triggering as a function of altitude.
A simple init script makes it a function of downward velocity (as it should be IMO). I'm hoping there is a way to initialize non-player units to change pathing behavior.
Is it not acceptable to just turn off the pathing of these units when you spawn them?

Looks like phasing may not be a surface level decision. The available objects for disableAI only go so far as toggling major functionality (and weirdly enough NVG usage).

Many people report AI passing through walls, they devs stated that they have patched this some time ago, but myself and others still occasionally spot some cheeky AI's phasing through existence when they think no one is looking.
But I'm here bat in hand to bring order back to the Shire.

Different thought. Perhaps there is a way to "leash" a unit? Looks like some people have already scripted something akin to checking distance moved vs starting position. Doesnt seem efficient or optimal but ill test it an report back

In my experience AI ignores certain objects completely when they are spawned and not part of the terrain (Even if both are local to the server (objects & AI)).

However it doesn't necessarily follow the decision making :P
Good tool for visualization either way. The leashing thing doesn't work too well, but I might be able to manage by toggling PATHing via way point triggers.
